- This turned into an outstanding adventure, waterfalls, cloud inversions ridges and more. Really enjoyed this one.
Ben Starav is an imposing mountain which rears up steeply from the head of Loch Etive. Higher up it has some fine ridges and is a great viewpoint. Ben Starav is a tough ascent by any standards, but the route can be extended by the very fit.
You could optionally include Beinn nan Aighenan as a detour, and after Glas Bheinn Mhòr to take in Stob Coire an Albannaich and Meall nan Eun - doing all five would be a huge challenge.

What a superb video. Captures the mood of the Highlands so well. I climbed my last Munro in 1996 (yes I am not a young man) and have bivouacked a lot, even to get to the remote tops. One might I bivouacked below Cairn Toul in the Cairngorms and woke up covered in snow. Ben Starav is a superb mountain, probably the best top in the black mount, and you gave it full justice. Thank you for posting.

@@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389 Nearly as big a slog as Sgùrr a' Mhàim in the Mamores. But, maybe that was because we did it when it was 95F (35C)! The tramac on the roads around Glencoe village was melting, it was that hot.

What light ! What clarity ! That stream at 02:10 shimmering like a white ribbon over bedrock that it'll need another thousand years to erode into a gully. Then those time lapses & cloud inversion. I think you've outdone yourselves with this one. Perfect. Glad you clarified that noise during the night. I thought the rutting season had started early 🤣. Sorry Lisa 😁.
