  • I recently flew my Mavic 2 pro at Richmond Park, London at an approved model aircraft field. No aircraft were harmed during the filming of this video. :)

      Ikopta Yeah it was great. I visit fairly often as I am an A380 captain. (QANTAS) This was my 1st time here with the drone.....but not my last! :) Thanks for taking the time to view.

    Do you own the rights to this footage? I'd like to use 5-10 seconds of this for a feature film I'm currently in post production with. We're very low budget; however we do have a small budget for stock video. I couldn't find an email address on your about section.

    It is legal to fly drones in Richmond Park - but only from the Flying Field base point (as as 1:21) and even then there are restrictions re height and distance from that point - based on the original use for wire-held model planes. So this video is not legal - the distance is way too far (e.g. the images of Pen Ponds at 0:15), and height (at 0:31), and base point (at 1:54). Good you kept your face obscured...

      Tom Burton thanks for your info. Much appreciated. There was no one there to advise me of the boundaries on this flight. I wasn’t above 400’ above ground..the wide angle lens makes it seem higher I guess. Keeping my face obscured was to protect the lens from breaking. :) Thanks for making me aware of the boundaries now.

      You've never been?? Go. If you haven't yet. Go. Don't hesitate, you'll love it (preferably without a drone as they are banned from the park)..

      pofrani I hear you. :) I have a Trex 500 and 600...with flybars. So, yep I’m with you...that’s REAL flying. :)

      @@brotherblonde Yep - I find these multicopters really boring to fly.. in fact, they're really not for flying! They're just for taking photos and videos. I sold my Inspire just less than a year after buying it because it was boring.
      Thanks for your video tho. I didn't know you can still fly in London. Do you have to be a member of a club to fly or just need BMFA?

    • @brotherblonde
      @brotherblonde  5 років тому

      pofrani I tend to agree. To me they are another camera platform that reaches higher than my shoulder. :) I am however enjoying the birds eye view they offer while flying. I’m practicing various flying manoeuvres currently, to get different shots. I’m enjoying that learning curve.

    Wow, love this footage of Richmond Park! This is exactly what I have been looking for to use this in an upcoming Kickstarter video I am creating. Would you be willing to allow me to use around 5-10 seconds of footage from this if I credit you at the end of the video? If so do you have a full 4K res version of this you could send me? I could pay you a small fee if required. You can also email me on davewalby@gmail.com if you would like to discuss. Thanks very much :) Dave.

      Dave W Hey mate. Thanks for your interest in my video. Yes I do have a 4K version. I’ll post it on YT as “unlisted” in a day or so, and send you the link. As to a fee...I will accept what amount you wish to pay for it..

    You do know drones are banned from Richmond Park, don't you? They are not legal under ANY circumstances in ANY of the Royal Parks and if while I am in the park, I see one I will be kicking the person who owns it out of the park. And before you say, I don't have the authority to do that. Actually, I do. It's part of my voluntering job to patrol and monitor the royal parks and ensure no-one breaks the rules.

      NeelyFanForever Thanks for your comment. The Royal Parks website says they are allowed at Richmond Park, at the model flying field. “The use of drones and remote controlled flying models is permitted only on the Flying Field in Richmond Park.” www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/richmond-park/visitor-information/flying-drones-in-richmond-park. This is where I was flying.

      NeelyFanForever lol u div .theres a special flying field within Richmond park specially just for drone/model aircraft flying which is labelled clearly on the website and signpost.We flyers just need to follow the general rules.U also sound so sad and bothered by other people’s hobbies .I suggest why don’t u start drone flying.I can’t wait for a response

      NeelyFanForever you work on Richmond Park? Do you know Richmond Park has a Fly and drone Club, actual on of the best in the country do you know? the Richmond Park Aviation Club is part of the "BMFA" BRITISH MODEL FLYING ASSOCIATION, also it is legal to fly aircraft's or drones in most Crown Estate you can check it online there is forbidden places but also legal places don't take one place rules in general for all the Royal/Crown Estate. So you know: all drone and aircraft and other remote operated flying machines operators are now legally licenced by "CAA" Civil Aviation Authority. Also worth mention that BMFA or other associations or private drone operators have specific and fit for purpose insurance, this operators and drivers/pilots pay various taxes and other government licenses/insurances in order to operate a Drone responsible wen i say drone can be anything like, FPV, Aircraft, UAV, UCAV etc device. So wen you are out patronizing...sorry i meant patrolling any place watch out for legal disruption so you don't get yourself involved in any legal dispute and sued for damages and lost of profit or time etc or worse with a private compensation claim against you, some of the licenses cost over £1500 per day on a 3 sessions a day max, with a fly time of 1 hour max per session this is not even including certain areas or the city were prices can be a lot higher. Keep up the good work, the sky is the limit!

      a little late to reply but shouldnt you learn the rules before threatening to kick people out of the park

    • @callumwelsh5908
      @callumwelsh5908 3 роки тому +1

      I wonder what your "employer" would think threatening to kick people out for complying with there own rules. If you do actually work there, you might want to read up on the rules!
