    The Mini burner in 11.5 with S flex only loses 5yards on my driver…. However, after 2 months i have yet to miss a fairway and hcp dropped from 3.6 to 1.9. Amazing club.

    I bought two of these mini’s, I play the 11.5 at 10.5 with a stiff shaft; I play the 13.5 at 14.5 with a regular shaft. I hit a fade with the 11.5; I hit a draw with the 13.5. No driver and 3 wood in my bag anymore. These are so easy to hit! I love hitting the 13.5 off the ground, so easy!

      @@James-th8tu If you have the heavy weight in the back, it’s surprisingly easy to hit off the turf. The only time I use the 11.5 off the turf is if I have to hit a big fade; other wise, I use the 13.5 off the turf. I’ve played just about every mini-driver ever and this is by far the best. I just don’t like the big headed drivers-I also play hickory golf and just enjoy smaller heads.

    Teeing the ball low and swinging more like a FW wood is key with mini driver, in my experience. Feels so much more powerful and under control than trying to hit up on it like a driver. The CG is such that an upward AoA produces weak strikes.

    • @joshallensarm
      @joshallensarm Рік тому +2

      Funny you say that, I was really struggling with this club when I got it (high handicapper). The balls had no speed or height, no control and felt awful coming out. I started leaning back a bit and hitting up on it like a driver (still teed pretty low) and got much much better results, about 10-20 yards less than my driver but better dispersion. I saw so many people online saying to hit it like a 3-wood so I just kept stubbornly hitting it like that, but when I commit to hitting up on it I get much better results. Haven't hit it off the deck yet though

    • @discr1709
      @discr1709 8 місяців тому +1

      Not for me. I tee it up fairly low and swing with about an 2-3 upward AoA. It's been working great.

    I bought a 300 mini 11.5 play it at 10.75 with a stiff diamana black shaft and it goes in the bag when the big boy goes off! I use a white castle tee and the flight and accuracy are exactly what I want off the tee when I am having a rocky time!

    I have been playing a Mizuno STG from the factory at 44 inches and set to 11 degree which closed the clubface from standard enough to help fight my late square up fades. I have been hitting center of the face more often and getting a more penetrating flight. I have not noticed any loss of distance from my full length Rogue ST.

      With the 2024 version dropping today, that’s exactly what I’m doing. I had just bought a new 3 wood this week, never even unwrapped it yet. Heard the news of the 2024 release 2 hours ago. Went straight to the store, returned the 3 wood and bought the new BRNR in 13.5. Chose that cause I can drop it to 11.5 if I want. Personally don’t feel the need to go any lower than that

    ANDY! You should do the differing handicap test with the mini, the one that you did several years ago. I thought that was brilliant because it showed it was not for a low/scratch golfer, but for the mid+ handicappers it was an eye opener.
    And to me it's about the dispersion, not the yardage, plus distance consistency. In my testing it was often going further than my normal driver, but consistent distance and dispersion.
    I thought the swing weight was a big factor for me as I had a more controlled tempo, unlike the lighter driver.

      @@TheAverageGolfer - you could hit up a driving range and ask random players, but that may get a little awkward. It was by far one of the more "scientific" methodologies as you had a baseline testing then added in the variable.
      I've watched all of the other reviews and they are all better players, thus would have better numbers with their driver so doesn't really give a good 1:1 match. I know James R. has also been raving about this driver too and has been giving honest opinions.
      Keep up the great work!

    I bought a used Original One mini-driver in mint condition used recently and it's been terrific as an accurate off the tee option that goes around 250 for me, vs. my driver that averages in the 270's. The mini-driver is definitely easier for me to hit consistently.

  • @fretless05

    People comment that you should compare heads on the same shaft? OK... Guilty as charged. Nice video. I agree that if you really want the best performance from a club, you need to be fit for both the head and shaft at the same time, as they do work together. This is a really interesting option, and I'm tempted to give it a hit, but keep feeling that maybe I'd be better off spending that money on lessons to hit driver better.

    44" Aldila NV "R" flext shaft with a 14 degree Aerotech ASMD-01 driver head which is a 260cc head, and I lose about 10y off my 45" driver. The sole lets me also use it as a 3w. Off the tee I play it like a 3w, to let the loft get it up in the air instead of teeing it high. 15 rounds in a row without missing a fairway and I don't throw my back out every time I pull it out of the bag. Best $30 I have ever spent and I can carry it instead of a driver and 3W.

    This new mini-driver from TM raises so many questions, it's doing damage to my few remaining brain cells.
    The first thing that occurs to me is that manufacturers have over the years been increasing the size of their driver heads and increasing the length of their driver shafts, in an attempt to give us more distance. Yet here we are "Returning to the Past" with a smaller head and a shorter shaft?????? Could it be that they have been shooting us a marketing gimmick all along??????
    The best driver I ever had was a very early Big Bertha 3Wood whose head size and shaft length was almost identical to BRNR so I am tempted to give the new offering a try. But I also have to be aware that I'm now North of 70 and I know that I need all the distance I can muster and I probably haven't got the speed to optimise the new BRNR🤦‍♂🤦‍♂🤦‍♂🤦‍♂
