Bought both the P-07 & P-09 Suppressor Ready pistols. They teplaced a classic Sig and Steyr and P99 AS in my collection. These two CZ's are the most accurate, stock out of the case pistols that I've bought in 60+ years of shooting. Bullseye perfect. Two bowls of ice cream is better than one. 👍👍
I bought a P09 just out of curiosity. Didn't like the oversize slide release or funny shaped de-cocker either. The gun shoots so incredibly that I don't even think of the negatives. Highly recommend this gun.
Absolutely beautiful gun. I was looking at the Shadow, which was a little out of my price range at the time. Picked up this beauty instead and have been thoroughly impressed. 1000 rounds, not one hiccup and accurate as all get up. Still on the fence as whether to switch to safety from decocker, but either way it's a nice piece. Very comfortable in hand and I love the mag load. I love this gun!
Great Video, thank you. I picked mine up used at a great reduced price. The owner traded it in after shooting 2 mags worth of 9mm and decided it just didn't fit his hand correctly. I find it perfect for me and it will run any 9mm I put through it. The sights are fantastic and the balance is right on as far as follow up shots are concerned. I too carry all of the hand guns I own and the P09 is no exception.
I just picked this up today, put 500 rounds through it. Not a single hiccup and the quality feels great. Definitely going to run it a little more then make it my edc.
I'm going to comment in real time... My DA on my omega is 12+. The single action break is very light, but the trigger return spring is where the resistance comes from. if you swap for a reduced TRS the single action will lighten a good bit. Or if you put the trigger on the wall, then put the gauge on it you can get the release. My SA is right under 5 lbs on my omega.
The cool thing about those slides is they have knocked off as much weight as they can at the top of the slide, reducing reciprocating mass and keeping the mass low near the bore. I want a P09 in a bad way and often wish i had got some of those for USPSA and not my shadows...
Right - Cajun Gunworks sells a reduced power TRS - it does affect the reset. The trigger will not swing forward with as much authority - but it will reduce the weight of the slack by about half a pound - which you can enjoy in both DA and SA. If you went for an 18# hammer spring (I think that's it), his extended firing pin, a reduced power firing pin block spring, and the reduced power TRS you'd probably be looking at a sub 8#/sub 4# trigger for like $50 in parts or so. He makes a bunch of other parts but from what I hear they aren't strictly necessary. A buddy just finished an install of the full CGW package on his P09 but I haven't had the occasion to try it yet.
Great choice and great pistol, I have one in 9mm and one in 40. These are such nice shooters, and I love the extended capacity magazines for them. Congrats on the new CZ!
@@1776orbust I get it man. Live in Australia. The irony that most ours come with threaded barrels as well to make requirements for length yet suppressors are illegal. Logical.
Brother the Urban carry P09 is one hell of an accurate gun. Good choice. Got my 75 B back from CAjun Fun Works. They really nice work on the P series guns. My 75 is now SAO new sites battle back and hi cuz front Stainless high polish with Stainless mag plate and Czechmate trigger 2.5 LBS........Love CZ
These are excellent pistols. I have a black one with about 1,000 rounds through it. It's been rock solid reliable, and I really like it. Good ergonomics, awesome round capacity, and a pretty good trigger.
Hey 17! I'm picking up my P-09 tomorrow! Almost one year to the day of this video! I got the Urban Grey w/suppressor height night sights. So many good reviews on this gun (including yours and Big J's!), I couldn't resist. Tomorrow can't come fast enough. Thanks for your honest review/opinions. P.S. -- I hope you get your power back on ASAP. Good luck, buddy! Hang in there.
+4 on Cajun Gunworks. I've built 4 cz's with parts from David and they turned out amazing. There is no reason to put up with 13 lb DA. Heavy triggers are for sigs. You can be at 8 lb. easily with full reliability at very little cost. If you want to build a pure range toy, sub 6 lb da is very do-able and sub 3lb SA will make you see that cz in a whole new light. For ccw holster check out FIST. Nothing pretty but he made me an excellent hybrid iwb for p07/p09. I can comfortably stash the p09 at 4:30 and a spare mag at 10:00 and walk out the door with 40rds aboard.
My rear sight dot just fell out of mine.. Get to see how well the warranty is now haha. But soon as it’s fixed, it’s going bye bye for the Shadow2 or SP01 Tactical
1776 or Bust I think I’d rather have the metal frame. It’s gonna be a bedside/steel comp pistol. Thou I do carry my SDP a lot, and sometimes wish it wasn’t so heavy.
I loved mine too. But I have many 9mm's. Too many really, LoL. And a P-09 in 40 is something I've wanted all along. And I want in the FDE like yours too.
I think my next gun will be the P07, perhaps even the 09.I was really thinking about picking up the P10, but i have enough striker fired guns.I need something different. Thanks for sharing buddy.
I know this is 5 years old! But I noticed you might've had a P-09 FDE. According to their website, they discontinued the P-09 FDE in 2015... Yours looks to be from 2016? I'm trying to create a MHS lookalike and am looking for a P-09 FDE with a similar looking frame (the "CZ-USA, KANSAS CITY, KS" is located in a different spot on '15 and '14 models) like yours
Nice video. I have the p07 and I'm wondering if over time I'll be able to get used to the DA/SA double taps. I feel it's easier to shoot in SA, but I plan to carry with the decocker so that DA pull will be heavy and I'm having a hard time getting that muzzle down on my second shot coming from SA. Any tips? Thanks!
That stinks that you're in a magazine limited state, the best thing about the P09 is the huge capacity. I would say the 40 S&W version of the P09 will be one of the softer shooting 40 cal polymer gun based on its total weight and bore axis.
Damn, I didn't know you were in a 10 round mag state. My condolences. Thanks for the vid, you might have sold me on a P09. I'm teetering between it and an SP01 Phantom.
@@1776orbust Yep, I just watched your video on the Phantom after this one, it does seem nicer. Whats your take on TriStar? Looking at the P-120 or T-120 possibly too.
+ another 1 on the CGW pro kit recommendation. Took my P-09LE from merely a great pistol to a phenomenal pistol. Hate to hear about the 10 round magazine limitation; a real pity.
Another sweet Cz dude. I've shot one of those before they're sweet shooters. My p01 omega has that little trigger wiggle at the wall too like that pistol. But I still shoot it well in my opinion. I've been thinking about getting some Cajun gun works parts for it to eliminate that and shorten up the reset. You have any experience with them or know people that do?
Yeah I don't think it's a nessisary mod (like glock sights ) I've got a friend that mods the hell out of all his guns that is encouraging me to do it. But it's tough to do when I already like how it shoots
Kinda agree on the P250 trigger. I instantly fell in love. And within a month, I had gron to hate it. Too long of a pull. This CZ is on my short list....

You're gonna love the p-09. Best gun I've ever fired for the money. Period. No joke. Shots like guns 3x the price. Super cereal. I know for a fact.

Very nice! For spending hundreds on a handgun. Three magazines should be the standard for all handguns.
They are nice pistols, I love my P09 & Carry It. My P09 on my Lyman Guage in DA pulled 9.87 & SA 4.13. I knew you would like it! Carry On!

I didn't notice it but the P series doesn't have the modified browning link - which means they won't break slide stops. Right on.
