It makes sense why it felt like there was ice! The cheaper option used ice on the perimeter; there was no way of guaranteeing that the temperature throughout the cannister was consistent, as some of it was cooler than the other. The lello had a controlled temperature throughout the container, assuring that everything was of the same consistency. The fact that expensive option won everytime makes it worth it 😌
WOW great video! ... very interesting to see your reactions blindfolded. I liked that you were positive about both makers, although it is fair that the $1k machine won out every time. But you both clearly enjoyed the Nostalgia as well which was great to see since you can get 10 of them for the price of one Lello. I just read a review on Amazon explaining how to clean the Lello and he made it sound easy: "The design is VERY smart for cleaning, which is important for me. The bowl is not removable, and is literally part of the entire casing and lid (one molded piece of stainless steel ! So there is no way of leakage ! With removable bowls, you have the problem of ice cream, water, batter, debris, and funk getting below the bowl, or seeping down the "seam" that has to be there in a design as such. With this one that is not the case at all. This is what costs so much, the "cut no corner" design. ALSO, the entire top has a ridge around the whole unit. This again is ingenious as if a bunch of liquid get poured on top of the unit (for cleaning), it has no way of rolling down the sides of the machine. SO cleaning is as simple as after you remove your desert, just pour some hot water all over the top of unit and in bowl... wait for a few minutes, then wipe it all down with a sponge (rinsing your sponge from time to time). Then do a final dry dry with a paper towel or two and the thing polishes right back up. It is so helpful under messy situations. I get no mess anywhere using this due to its ingenious design (IMO)." I'm shopping around for an ice cream maker (if you can't tell lol) and if I could give a suggestion for your channel ... I'd love to see more videos about how to make the ice cream. Like in this video you poured the base in but what is it??? How do you make it. Do you need to cook it on the stove first? Do you need the kitchen aid mixer? Your kitchen is SO clean and pretty by the way, I love it. But yeah I'm reading these recipes and they're all so different. Some use milk, cream, gum, cream cheese, eggs, I have no idea what is best or even works better with different machines. Kind of like this video I'm curious what the result would be between say using full fat or low fat milk, using evaporated milk versus condensed, etc. How would I mix in something like brownie chunks into the Lello. When. What about using fresh fruit. So yeah! It was great to see the Lello in action, I'm the kind of person, I like to research a lot before making a large purchase so I'm watching all your videos!
Thank you so much for the kind words! That is so true with the design that it keeps it very clean just takes a little longer for me where as if you were to have some light you can hold and clean I find it is a little quicker. But, I agree it is a great design for keeping things real clean which is the goal! Love it, thank you for your input I shall do some updated instructional vids down the road. I do have an older video of me showing how to make the base ua-cam.com/video/7NEQSXKy7f8/v-deo.htmlsi=EvqzANRUvZD8PT7p . Personally, I don't like to use anything that I know isn't good for me which is the whole reason I started making my own ice cream. I like the old fashion way just simple organic and grass fed ingredients no gums or fillers. You wouldn't put low grade fuel in a Ferrari ;)
Thank you so much for doing this! It's helpful to see the final product after it has been completely frozen. I do have one question: did you use any gums in the recipe or any eggs?
Test the Lello to the Whynter.

Well put. Love it! Yes, the Lello is so simple :)
More Jen! For sure, can't wait to buy one of these rolls royce machines of ice cream!
Yes I’m excited for you to experience it!

Honesty that was really helpful to see. And the video was better with Jen as well. Both with pleasant personas.
Wow I appreciate the kind words :) hope you are having a great day!
For cleaning the Lello, sponges and cotton tea towels are your friend.
Yes, those have come in handy through the times! Good call!
Yes we want more Jen
Hahah I have listened and blessed her with some more screen time in my latest video!

We want more Jen!!
Oh boy she’s going to love to hear that!

I’m glad you enjoyed the video :) No gums in my recipes, just free-run egg yolks to make a nice custard base.
@@lifeofty396 How much cream do you use? Do you have a recipe? Thanks!
We want more Jen
Ahhhh shoot looks like she’ll be back then 😂
Thanks for this review. I just bought the Lello 4080.
I thought you are Shawn Mendez 😄
😂 it’s funny I do get that a lot. I can’t say the vocal cords are as similar as the looks…
More Jen. She reminds me of Gen from Genitorturers.
Hahah spicy I like it 🤘🏼
