What are your thoughts on Product Development Firms, those that claim to provide CAD drawings, prototypes and manufacturing? Are conversations with them implied confidentiality? I am thinking so lol! It would be bad for their business to steal ideas 😊

There would likely be implied confidentiality and folks like this don't tend to steal ideas since as you point out it would be bad for business. However, some of these companies can be scams that give you worthless help and charge you a ton of money for it. Be really careful about who you work with when it comes to companies like this.

Yes, if you post enabling videos of the invention you would need to file within a year to preserve US rights, but patent rights in most foreign countries would already be lost.

My practice ranges from representing individuals to startups to shark tank businesses to Fortune 100 companies. However, I have extremely limited ability to take on additional new clients aside from folks who are already very well capitalized.

What do you mean by an "offer for sale"? Does that refer to selling your company? Selling product?

On the most basic level, an offer for sale would be offering a product for sale that embodies invention. Note that this does not need to be making an actual sale - just making it available for sale. Offering the company for sale would also likely be considered an offer for sale of the technology in most cases. It’s always good to check with your patent attorney about the specifics of your situation to make sure what you are planning would not be considered an offer for sale that would forfeit patent rights.

Yes, that would start to forfeit patent rights in multiple ways since that would be a public disclosure of the invention, likely a public use of it, and an offer for sale that resulted in a sale. Patent rights are immediately lost for most foreign countries, but a small number of countries give a limited grace period before patent rights are lost - in the US it's one year.
