    The mountain of hell is one of the most exciting races of the year.
    I qualified 4th fastest the previous day meaning I had a spot on the front row of the grid.
    With 800 riders lined up behind us on the snow at the top things are tense and exciting, that feeling ramps up as the helicopter fly's overhead and the start gun sounds!
    There was a full live stream of the race from the helicopter and various drones and filmers along the way and was shown on French TV too.
    Now I'm looking forwards to the Megavalanche this coming weekend!

    • @LiamMoynihan
      @LiamMoynihan  Рік тому +5

      Yeh all the racers would prefer a bit more tape. We were all aware of some of the huge shortcuts that villoni did but actually before the start of the race all the top riders from the first few rows had a hand shake and agreed none of us would do the massive shortcuts completely away from the path but that the little ones on the route of the path but just between corners were kind of fair. Shame to hear some riders still did the huge ones over the grass for a long time after the discussion at the top... Damien who won didn't do them and neither did Alexis in 2nd, myself in third or Olivier in 4th so that was nice fair racing. Damien fully deserved the win and same to Alexis for the overtake for 2nd. Fully deserved and well raced!

      Hi! What do you mean by full tyres? Most folk use double ply downhill tyres which are pretty sturdy. You can also get tyre inserts which are like a foam insert inside the tyre, some people use those. I'm personally not a fan of inserts. They are good if you have a flat as you can still ride pretty fast on them but they dont feel that nice to ride on and in my experience they are good for helping to avoid rim damage and flat tyres that way but are actually worse for tyre sidewall slices. To me the best combination is a really good quality wheel and strong tyre.

      Because it was Damien Oton, he's next level and did a decent job down the start carnage so was already in 3rd at the single track then is just the fastest and fittest haha!

    these people who allowed these tracks with the dangerous shortcuts have a criminal mind and i am sure are no bikers themselves, this is insane and could be deadly. you did well but you are a crazy bastard to want to do something like tha.t.

      I'm not actually sure of the stats. I think some years there are very few injuries and other times if there is a big pile up there can be more, I've heard of/seen a few nasty ones but there are probably actually less than at high level Downhill races!

    You have passed three man on Megavalanche 2022 with a shortcut before nearly end of race, now at end of race you being passed by someone:) i think it is justice :)

      Haha this race(Mountain of Hell) happened one week before the Megavalanche! After being passed for 2nd right at the end in this one I was making sure to do everything i could towards the end of Megavalanche. The line by the road sign wasn't really a short cut too it was very fair! Thanks and glad you enjoyed the videos!

    • @celalatalar
      @celalatalar Рік тому

      I have seen your comment in video about the road sign. I have used shorcut term for clever idea not for breach. In addition i hadn't know the dates of races. On this situation, justice has come to you on Megavalanche.. By the way there was a huge battle, effort and excitement within 4 players on Megavalanche. Really it was very good. Congratulations..
