THEORETICALLY you can do anything with Blender, even a Pixar movie would be possible. However, it would take a godlike talent and half an eternity. But it is possible
the fact that he tries to better himself from the negative comments or suggestions he receives rather than complaining or ignoring them is so wonderful, great job
Aaarh, thank you so much man! I truly appreciate that you see that and point that out. Negative feedback always hurts, but the best think you can do is take the constructive parts to heart and work on that.
It's projects like this that keep me from giving up on Blender. I was at a point a year ago where I had had enough, now when I look back on my early projects, I'm so happy by so far I've come. You're an inspiration mate, thanks for the amazing work!
Damn, just want to put it out there that you should be extremely proud of yourself for this project! Loving every single moment of it! Keep doing what you do and continue to inspire more people
I am only getting started with Blender (still at the cube phase 😅), so for me, seeing videos like these are a huge inspiration! We only see a 30 second scene, but I am sure this took hours - if not days - of work... and years of devotion to get to this stage. Fantastic Video!
Thank you so much for the kind words ^^ I am happy to hear you are starting the journey with Blender. You will not regret it! (Despite the tears and sweat trying to do what you want it to, heheh). And yes! Even 30 seconds take a looong time to make, hehe.
Hey man, really impressed by this one. In most car animations I usually find some disturbing mistakes or imperfections at first glance. Not here. As I've read in the comments that you're open for critique, here's what I like to complain about after watching this for 5 to 10 times ;-) (now 20 times) 1. People walking by @ 0:19. For sure nobody will go after business as usual when the most exiting car chase is happening right in front of their eyes. The dude at 0:06 is done way better. 2. The traffic lights look like cheap plastic. 3. Worst: The position of the two police cars trying to block the road changes depending on the perspective (0:11, 0:13, 0:19). This is IMNSHO a totally unnecessary mistake. What I like most about this chase is the car @ 0:05 jumping on the road. Really nice. The overall scene @ 0:03 just looks amazing. The scene / camera angle @ 0:14 is really impressive (car slides with 10 cm distance). Thanks for sharing!
Hey man - I really appreciate your comment and feedback on this ^^ And for watching it 20 times... I am... Well... Sorry you had to go through that. I find it awesome you noticed this guy. I put him in there thinking noone would ever notice him, heheh. But yes, absolutely. Definitely could be a better environment in general to make it feel more believable! And yes.. I took some liberty to rearrange the block for each shot to make the staging work better. Buuut, I probably overdid it a bit, heheh. Thanks again for the input :)
Thaanks!! You can!! It just takes a long time ^^ And hey, my advise is just to start simple. Just use gray boxes and simple models to make a previz and get the feeling you want before you dive in an do super complex lighting and shading. It's all about the small steps that slowly get you to the point you want to be :)
Thank you so much, Jacob!! 😄 Are you thinking of the lens flares in the first shot? - I think maybe the timecode was wrong. The lens flares in the first shot are done in Nuke, whereas the rest of the shots were done in After Effects. - Nuke is a super cool package and one I would like to switch to moving forward :)
This is so so so so good man....i wish i could make something like this...i have a fking potato laptop...it barely runs blender...still i am trying so much and learning blender without rendering assuming that there willl be a day where i will have a pc and i will be able to make use of my skills 😭🤣
Thank you so much man!! Hahaha, I know the struggle!!! I would really recommend you getting a desktop PC at some point - it's so much easier to upgrade parts along the way then. All the best on your blender journey!!
This is really amazing. I hope you spend more time with the sound effects and audio. As a car guy, I could tell the effects and audio didn't sync well.
Thank you so much! Well, I actually didn't do the sfx myself, but a freelancer did it for me. I should probably get some feedback from some car guys who know how it should be in the future! THanks for the feedback :)
This was amazing. I'm going to put my next comment in a positive sandwich because this was so good. The drift move between the two cars was awesome. I'm disappointed the Subaru boxer rumble wasn't there. Great work! @@DanielVesterbaek
Love it! It'd be great to add some people to the cars steering the wheels or bouncing inside the SUV as it jumps to add that extra feel/emotion. Excellent look and fell and animation! Thanks for inspiring!
Thanks a lot!! Took around 20 mins per frame and yes, all exported in multilayer exrs :) I did use some megascan stuff here and there but most of it was from kitbash 3D, which is just hand modelled I believe
@@DanielVesterbaek20 minutes? Holy crap! i know this might feel dumb! but, does exporting with exr enhance realism than ordinary exporting method? Once again! awesome work!
@@enchihouse hehehe, well.. yes it does just take long to render this stuff because of all the bounce lighting in the scene. And yes, definitely! You can do much more if you have exr passes for compositing
@@DanielVesterbaek if possible can you tell me more in detail like which shakes did you add in shakify and when did you add keyframes and what interpolation did you used
Good stuff, my only criticism would be that the smoke disappears to fast and is not present on each consecutive cut. So continuity problem really. Probably a really easy fix in aftereffects.
And fun fact, the trucks in baby driver aren't even real ;) ua-cam.com/video/d85I3n2nmV4/v-deo.html But love this result! I like the "twinkle" of headlights at the end, nice touch.

You just need to be extremely good at animating.
And also a PC that's packing more power than a Bugatti and you're set.

Awesome to hear you can see progression in your craft and art ^^
This short blows my mind. I was imagining the Subaru driven by thieves, with banknotes coming out of the slightly open rear windows... Wow!!!!

Should have added that!

I'm curious where you got the music from.
I worked together with a sound designer who made the SFX and found the track. It was a stock track we bought as far as I remember :D
Was it created by one person?
Yeah, but I was using a lot of assets which were already built, which sped up the process a lot :)
Now lets see if you can make a transformers fight scene!
Ahahaha, that is the next challenge!!
wow... how many hours would you have put in to make this wonderful animation?
Thanks!!
I am not exactly sure - My guess would be 80-100h in total
@@DanielVesterbaek Amazing!!
can stuff like this be rendered in real time ? (i.e. future games like gta 6 )
Yeah, I guess it could. It depends on how much you optimize your scenes and models :)
How do you get the sound done though? Its perfect
I worked with a freelancer to do that. I am not a sound guy, so other people can do that much better than me 😄
Great! Hope to have a tutorial from you, thank.
I would be happy to! Still thinking about exactly what to include in the tutorial, but it's in the planning phase for sure
Do you render this on your computer? If so how long did it take you for this project?
Yes! I have two workstations at home - It took around 15-20 mins per frame for this animation
@@DanielVesterbaek Famn thanks for the insight Daniel.
