Exactly what I was thinking. Just the amount of effects and the placement of each cut and even the audio distortion is so masterfully put together, really makes me wonder what the process of creating something like this is. It's just stunning
This was massively impressive and entertaining. You're not only a gifted 3D artist, but a really talented art director and editor. The snappy pacing of this was a nice surprise!
@@reapercreeper6097 lol so no one can be gifted and skilled at the same time? Next time I'm doing a performance review on my team of graphic designers, I'll be sure to call you up for advice (spoiler, I'm not gonna do that)
I love the quick cuts preventing you to see the car in its entirety. I'm sure it was used intentionally to make everything look more realistic by using strong lighting, film grain and water reflections
William, never ever stop creating. If I had 1/10th of your skills when I was 15, I’d be George Lucas at 25 and in all the halls of fame now at 35. You don’t need school. What you are able to create put you in the 1% of the 1% of the 1%. It’s extremely rare and I have only seen it a few times during my entire life. So never ever stop creating. What you need is a good mentor.
I love how the quick cuts, the pacing, and the framing of the shots have an EMOTIONAL IMPACT: you cannot fully grasp what you see (like when a car goes by fast), adds mystery, intensity, anticipation, sense of wonder...
Okay, take it from an industry veteran - you are ridiculously talented. Given your age - you are going to be an all-time great if you keep at it. I don't think 3d is end of the line for you, you will be directing videos in no time.
Somebody knows what the hell they're doing. Talent went into this, but it's obvious that years of dedicated hard work went into the skill and discipline it took to make this short happen. Monstrous props.
Having long breaks is absolutely needed as an artist. To release pressure, do the point with yourself, and allow you to breathe. And can feel that in the whole quality of the short. Congrats boy it's a masterpiece !
Dude... You're insane! Something of this quality takes a lifetime of experience and artistic sense. Fantastic work and I can't wait to see what more come from that crazy ass brain!!
Wow. You didn't just mastered blender. You show here some awesome idea, visual storytelling, art direction, photography, editing, sound design. You are amazing. I can't believe you are so young. Wish you all the best.
I think everyone has already commented on the visual aspects which are stunning so I'd just like to give a big thumbs up for the sound design. Really great work on that too, adds so much to the drama without being to intrusive or overpowering. Bravo sir!
This is so good William. Learning the ins and outs of computer graphics like Blender, After Effects, Photoshop in just 18 month is already an incredible achievement but developing good style at that same pace is truly something special. I´d argue that most artists with 10+ years of experience would struggle to create something like this (style-wise, not technically). I hoped you don't get bored soon :-).
Bro, i come back to watch this video every now and then, its sooo perfect! Every scene is so perfectly cut cause you just want to see more! genius execution, truly!
I saw the first 5 seconds, then thought "huh, this would sync up well with Justice x Tame Impala's 'one night all night'", so i turned that up AND BOY DID IT SYNC UP SO WELL
Whenever I see a car concept, regardless of the social network, I clearly see an inspiration from this video when they present the concepts. This video is unbelievable in terms of technical quality, a real free lesson. If you want to be good at something, be inspired by the dedication of young William Landgren.
the fact that 16 year old did this makes it even more insane Hope you gonna work on big and insane projects one day :D Keep up the insane work When I was 14 i started playing with video games and video editing. There are many people who can do the different technical aspects of this, such as modelling lighting editing etc... But there aren't many people who can bring all those skills together in such an outstandingly creative way. Amazing work. William. :)
Hey William! The sound design of this short is beyond excellent. Do you mind doing a short breakdown of what's gone into it? It's really cool and needs more praise in my opinion
This is so badass. Reminds me of those abstract Playstation 3 commercials with the title "Play Beyond". I remember there was a white room with the Playstation 3 and there were three eggs that rolled around and then they suddenly levitated and crashed into the wall and crows immediately emerging from black impact spots.
man, I'm in advertising and I have to say youu have done something truly unique here, you've made the ad of the future... with almost half a million views I wonder how many creative's minds you have inspired, bravo!

Inspiration should also not be pitied. I’m sure Ash Thorb has their own idols as-well. We all have and thats how evolution happens.
The fact that this is made by a 15 year old makes me think we’re looking at an actual genius. Also these renders look so realistic for blender, is this really cycles or are you using a different render engine?
Very good transitions, motion design and sound design. Very original for u except infinity of noise which i dont like again. But im happy u finished it. I hope u found your own style, cause i like this one!
Your passion for this jumps out at the viewer. And the small, infinitesimal moments make this come to life for example, the flock of birds @0:38. Inspiration to add that.

edit: kinda just realized that was the intention.
kinda don't like how we see the whole car in the thumbnail it "ruins" it a bit, it's still amazing tho ofc
Nah it's annoying, i hate this style
