I remember well 45 standing on the Golf Course trying to blame the supply problems on Obama failing to Fill the First Aid kit before he left 3+ years earlier. Which makes Jared Muskowitz's questions, as Florida deals with this unnecessary Measels problem so timely. If there is another election in 2028, I hope Jared runs for President. He will have my vote.

Thank you Congressman. As a Floridian I am so happy you represent our State. I was watching Chinese youtube channels in late 2019 and early 2020 before covid was announced here in the USA and my sons live in New York City and I told them to stock up and what supplies to get. At that time masks were at hardware stores and i told them to buy them. In January of 2020 there were 50,000 chinese tourists visas issued and used. I got this information from the State Department's website. If we had stopped them from entering the Country in January of 2020 how many lives would have been saved? Imagine one covid case on each plane as they were running from it. They landed all over the Country. I think a good idea is to suspend tourist visas if a country is known to have a new disease until we have further information. Also, trump shut down the pandemic response department in 2019 before it hit the USA. I am lucky as a 66 year old here in Florida to never have had covid. I am vaxxed and boosted and still wear a mask when I shop. I have lost 2 lifelong friends to covid who were not vaxxed because of what lies they heard about the vaccines.

I on the other hand have Congressmen Kennedy and Scalise and not to be forgotten... the infamous Maga Mike Johnson. There are some things that won’t change that are vital and consistent. There should be warehouses with PPE, ventilators and such that are ready to go. You can’t have test kits, vaccines or treatments ready for an unknown illness, but you can have non-perishable supplies and logistical plans for distribution ready. Epidemics and pandemics are inevitable and contingency plans should be made.

always good to plan ahead. i used to work at a pharmaceutical company, top 5 globally & the most ethical. there’s a lot that goes into global supply. with medication each country has its version of the FDA, labeling has to include certain information to clear customs & those labels have to be sent to certain employees that work with customs when they are changed & approved. im sure there’s similarities for medical supplies like ventilators, masks, etc. so trying to plan ahead & correct anything that slowed down the process, hospitals can’t wait!!!

I've spoke to my doctor about this because at the least there NEEDS to be a strategy in place to help people safely wean off meds without having to go through painful withdrawal, when they cannot obtain meds.

Excellent points! We need to be prepared ahead of time. Say, by creating the tools for those factories that could be installed if and when we need them. Certain things will always be a given that we'll need. Hospital supplies for surgery, critical life support, etc. All of the things that don't have an expiration date can be created and stored in multiple areas of each state. Some hospitals could quite frankly use those things on a regular basis!

Love me some Moskowitz. A wonderful mix of talent, experience, professionalism and sass.
And I love seeing you fight to make sure America is ready for the next disaster.
Obama left the US a pandemic playbook and a full closet of supplies for whatever would happen... and then the orange loser came in, threw out the playbook, and sold off almost everything that was stockpiled, so the US was horrifically unprepared for the pandemic that it should have been able to deal with without issue.
There needs to be a better system in place. One where some rogue president or corrupt politician can't just ruin everything to make a buck and leave the country defenseless.
