Would you want Ashes of Creation to be rated M for Mature? If so, what would you want to see and what would you wouldn't want to see them do? Post your thoughts below!
I'd like Ashes to be at least borderline Mature. I enjoy more intense content through grimdark fantasy books, shows, and games. So, there are plenty of options out there besides this MMO, but I definitely don't want a pasteurized story of happy-go-lucky feelings and the power of friendship overcoming the big bad evil.
Another AoC game, Age of Conan has what I believe you are asking for. It had/(has) partial nudity, adult language and humor, and high gore. I at least fit that universe perfectly. Funcom even ramped it up to full nudity in Conan Exiles.
I would be happy if WoW allowed us to make pants invisible, like all the other xmog spots. There are dresses cut in the side that look stupid with pants.
Whatever rating the go for, I dont care as long they show me some areas and moods that aren't sunshine and rainbows. So far, everything shown so far was idyllic forest or a winterscape. Their world is not believable to me.
Maturity rating is not important to me. What Ashes clearly lacks is testosterone in its design, especially when it comes to armor and models. Everyone are so lanky with no posturing to them. Thats why I think Vek are the best race so far in the game. They have their signature hunched posture and it gives them character. Look at Wow, if you shown only a silluoette of the races you would know which one is which by its size, posture and muscles. I dont see that in AoC and it worries me, because it feels that game lacks identity. Mood in the game is also weird. Every zone feels like utopia-Even deserts. There is no sense of danger in any of them. Grey skies, sandstorms, heavy rain, blizzard-I NEED to see that. Everything is so Disney so far.
I want to see more of the dark nature stuff like corruption or the old gods. Tone is important and I don't mind the bright stuff at times but its also good to have a balance of both dark and light tones.
@@warlocksk8ter2005 Oh the bright stuff bothers me so much, especially when its not necessary. Everything glows in this game-Turtles, goblins, armor, environment. Edit: Look at the goblins in Dragons Dogma 2 and In the ones in Ashes and tell me which is designed better. That glow they put on everything is so cheesy to me.
@@CasabianN-xr5sc some of the design decisions don't bother me personally. Again, I just want to see different tones in their storytelling. All shades of it.
@@CasabianN-xr5sc Thank you! Someone said it. What I hate are those stupid knight helmets because they make you character look like Sunday cartoon villain. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel with helms, look at armor references intrepid if you are going for that realistic look.
I've never watched GoT because that corner of the fantasy genre has never appealed to me. However, I think perhaps you are overlooking the real life "grit" that will occur organically in a game such as AoC which is inextricably dependent upon social interaction. I've often heard people laud the positive aspects that can arise in a social game: comradery, communal effort, loyalty, brotherhood, and friendship; but equally likely are the negative aspects: greed, treachery, ambition, betrayal, rivalry, and unrelenting antagonism. The "mature" story elements that you liked in GoT will play out in real time between real people in Ashes of Creation. Take heart, for there are dark days ahead. :P
We will see. I don't care for nudity personally in games but I want to see pretty much everything else. Murder, blood, gore, political backstabbings.... all of it. That would be glorious if that was the case.
No...just No...I dont want this game being in the news for having nudity and moms just finding out...its safer, and will have a much broader audience .
What are you talking about, the storyline is just the background, the true game of thrones will be the tryhard kicking casuals butts and having guild wars between the bigger alliances

Blood would be an obvious one. Not just as you hit something, but on clothes too.
Executes maybe? For Honor style.
Thanks for the shout out! Great video!
Of course my dude!
GW2 is a prime example of what you're talking about

"Ashes of Creation Should Be a Mature Rated MMORPG" - There fixed it for you. :D
Appreciate it lol
*I'd like to see the game offer both, have it be a setting you click in the beginning of Character Creation.*

Even if it's rated 40+ it'll still sell like hot cakes.

More Game of Thrones, less Chronicles of Narnia please, with a hint of Elden Ring on the side. Thanks Intrepid.
I think the choices we make in game will make the game feel more mature or more adolescent & I believe that's the closest we'll get to an M rating.

People that want that kind of game play ff14 with mods...

Well it's subscription based game, so how many kids will/should play it anyway? Witcher 3 is also nice example of adult themed world. :))
