- "You Don't Take Your Showers", a parody of "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" by Neil Diamond and Barba Streisand, was originally recorded as a demo in 1979, but was then performed as a full song on September 14, 1980 on the Dr. Demento Show. This particular show is important as it was also when "Another One Rides the Bus" was first performed.
I was born 10 days after this recording.
My friend was born 365 after
This song is about no one takes a shower and have bad hygiene.
I wrote “You Don’t Talk Anymore” just now.
I love Al’s work, he sure makes songs funny.
I used to have this song as my alarm to remind me to take a shower. The recording my dad had was crunchier than this, a different performance, and i only ever heard the first verse!! So glad i found this channel where i can learn more about the discography of my favorite musician of all time :)
Bob Rivers also did a parody of this song along similar subject matter. It was called “You Don’t Smell Like Flowers Anymore”.
He's right, I don't take showers. I take baths instead because it's more relaxing for me and I don't like water getting in my eyes. (I know, it's hella weird, but at least I'm keeping myself clean.)
Haha! I'm about to go shower right now. And shave too! No one will question my hygiene... Lol! 😂🤣
Thank you for sharing another song I've never heard of before! I'm really loving this channel! 🙂🙂🙂
