- "More Songs About Food" is the earliest version of Al's 'food medley'. Throughout most live shows from 1979-1995, Al performed a medley of short food parodies, usually those that Al didn't think could be made into full songs. The earliest recording of this medley, at this point titled "More Songs About Food" (a jab at the Talking Heads' "More Songs About Buildings and Food"). It includes:
Crampton Comes Alive (parody of Frampton Comes Alive by Peter Frampton)
I Feel Like Throwing Up (parody of I Feel Like Making Love by Bad Company)
Throw Gravy on You (parody of Crazy On You by Heart)
Take Me to the Liver (parody of Take Me to the River by The Talking Heads)
Fatter (parody of Shattered by the Rolling Stones)
If it weren't for the internet, I wouldn't even know this existed!
Woah, I didn't know Crampton was live in ,79!
Anyways, here's the Tracklist
0:00 Crampton Comes Alive
0:24 Feel Like Throwing Up
1:13 Throw Gravy On You
1:44 Take Me to the Liver
2:44 Fatter
Thanks Archive for these posts live from ,79!
More Songs About Food is a KCPR bathroom recording that aired a week later. This Food Medley, although remarkably similar and has a lyric with a similar title, isn't More Songs About Food.
where'd these come from?
