It's so nice to see someone who agrees with me on this. You can pretty simply swap out the technologies and apply the same principles Gary taught. The principles don't change - the mediums do.
I met Gary in Orlando at a conference in 2002. Also his son Bond and John Carlton...a real highlight for me. He did some 'hotseats', and the way he and John attacked marketing problems was priceless.
Im reading sugarmans adweek copywriting handbook and he's shared some impressive insight that i love but how successful is he really at copywriting? I get the sense that he has only had a couple of successes. I dunno. I didnt really like the vids that ive seen of him. He kinda rubbed off on me the wrong way but i love what ive read of his book thus far...
I’ve lived by that for years. I first heard someone other than myself say it here. My take is “ If you’re going to be stupid, you better be tough.” Same thing just reversed. I think is just intuitive adult knowledge though. Nothing new under the sun……

1 Dont try to fake your knowledge you has to be an expert on that field, 2 put your personality on it 3 you have to give value to the people even if they unsubscribe to your newsletter they have to keep thst value with them
