That design is every Christmas gift wrapped in the 60's. The colors are perfection! FUN FACT: The red "flowers" on the poinsettia, are just leaves! The actual flowers on the plant are the tiny yellow centers.
@@maryhernandez9699 The lower leaves are green, and the upper leaves are red/white/pink... whatever variety you buy. Next time you see them, real ones, take a closer look. :) We get easily distracted by the beautiful colored leaves that look like the flowers.
That soap turned out great! And, as an animal rescue volunteer, thank you thank you THANK YOU! for including the info at the end about the danger of lilies, holly, and mistletoe. Like you said, poinsettias are mildly toxic. But lilies are deadly toxic to cats. A single leaf, petal, or even just grooming the pollen from their fur is enough to cause fatal kidney failure in a cat. And you only have 18 hours from the time of exposure to start treatment for them to have a chance of making it. I'm always shocked at how many cat owners don't know about lily toxicity. Hopefully your video (and this comment) will help to spread the word. ❤
I think this soap would definitely be worth incorporating into future collections. It is very cheerful and nostalgic looking; it definitely fits this season. I agree that making the poinsettias opaque would enhance the effect. On a side note, I saw the unmixed oil in the corners and thought that doesn't look right. Glad it was fine, and the soap turned out absolutely beautiful.💖
I love the look of this soap! It reminds me of what Christmas time was always like when I was younger. Word got out that my mom liked poinsettias, so everyone would gift her a plant and they'd be all over the house! She says we can't have real ones in the house anymore because of the cat, but he doesn't care about them at all. I think she just got tired of trying to keep up with cleaning all the dried leaves. They do make a bit of a mess, especially when you have like ten of them at once!
Hi! I'm a cosmetology student and I just watched the part about you making your custom green Christmas blend? I'm not sure if it would translate to mica colorants but in hair dye black colors are made of a majority blue. Which might be why you have some trouble getting a dark warm green with a black oxide? I might use a dark brown instead? That way it will darken while still using a warm tone palette! Hope it helps 💕💕
You are completely correct! I was going to say the same thing. I was watching the cookie challenge show and the one lady on there is an instructor and she brought all of her colorants with her, she said she never puts one color in while making her frostings. She went on to show a few of her colors and that was one of them she put brown in the green to make it warmer.
That is cool. I have been enjoying customizing my mica colors for my own soaps and have been happy with my results so far, but I might just try this to expand even further.
Another thing you can try is mixing in red or a red orange color. Mixing complimentary colors ie across each other on the color wheel, red-green, orange yellow-blue, darkens a color
The soap is genuinely gorgeous - it reads like a more luxe take on the Happy Holidays bar from your 2019 collection. But what made me happiest re: both videos was watching you do something different, more arty, change up the techniques a little. Would really love to see more of that going forward.
I call poinsettias 'nochebuenas' since that's what they're called in Mexico where my parents are from. Sometimes it feels weird calling the plant 'poinsettia' even though I live in Texas. "Noche Buena" literally translates to "Night Good" but it means "Christmas Eve" I'm Spanish.
this soap is SO GORGEOUS!!! I love Poinsettia so much. we buy one for my mom every year but have it hanging from the ceiling so her cat cant get it.. she is so happy!
Here in Western Europe (at least in a few countries) we don't caal them poinsettia. We call them "Christmas Star" (in native languages). At least that's what is says on the signs at flowershops 'round this time of year.
I would love this soap! I’m not bothered that the poinsettias are cut, they look fantastic either way! I think I would like it to have a green winter smell, that’s what I imagine this soap smells like. 🥰
it's beautiful I really like the opacity in the poinsettias I think it makes it more unique. Maybe you could add a little bit of gold Lusterr dust that would mimic how they add a little glitter to them in the stores. but the colors are absolutely perfect spot on don't change anything
Your Christmas parties sound like true *events* that people will fondly remember for years. It's so lovely when people do things to create such warm happy memories with their loved ones.
Your videos are one of the only things that makes my anxiety calm down so I can fall asleep at night. I hope you know the impact your videos have on people and their wellbeing. You are amazing 💫❤💚
Yes, make this for Christmas next year! Yes, more poinsettias on top; yes, more opaque flowers! Also, PLEASE do more experimenting with using embed molds for not-their-intended-purpose; that was cool to see and I'd love to see how creative you can be with the molds that you already have!
I also love the Ochard House opening title, it's just makes you feel like you are wrapped in the comfort of home. It also reminds me of my childhood, so good!
This is the PERFECT Christmas soap! It's so pretty! I think if you brushed the mold with a red mica powder before pouring the melt and pour in, that would really help with the opacity and definition❤
Yesss!!! The 90's Little Women movie is THE BEST version!!! I am very passionate about this hahahah. It's a fantastic Christmas movie, I totally agree. Excited to see pics from your party. This soap just oozes Christmas 🎄⛄
@@RoyaltySoaps yes yes!!!! I always have to watch this every year at the first decent sized snowfall. And yes YES!!!! The soundtrack absolutely slaps, it is INCREDIBLE. I play it all the time!!
I’m the same about pride and prejudice…. Extremely passionate about the 1995 version, haven’t watched the remake as it seems like sacrilege to me, like gurl….Keira.. you are great but you ain’t no Lizzy Bennett…. And her hair! So wild and unkempt, just no…
I don't know why I'm so excited to give you this tip, but for your linens, if they get stained, oxy-clean max force will be your best friend... it's the only thing I've found to take out most stains (even set in ones). And make sure they're COMPLETELY dry before storing them. It will help prevent mold.
Love how the soap turned out! What a great idea. I think a gold or silver mica drizzle swirled in would make the leaves stand out and look even more festive.
I would LOVE to see this in the next holiday collection! Maybe put a little gold mica in the center before pouring soap into the molds just to define the center of them. The whole thing was just lovely and nostalgic.
I don’t really care about soap, but I LOVE this channel because you guys are just so magnetic and bubbly and wonderful, your banter always keeps me coming back 💗
I'd absolutely buy this in the holiday line up. It fits the vibe and the flowers will make it carry on into spring well at home and won't be too Christmasy
OMG this is Christmas all wrapped up its just beautiful. Nothing says Christmas more. I have not felt like it was Christmas till now it bought a tear to my eye. Here in South Australia we say poinsettia. Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas.
I love this soap. Would love it if it were part of the Christmas collection. My mom got married at Christmas and the poinsettia were everywhere. I'm sure she would love this.
She always tells us to do something fun for ourselves today. Little does she know that I watch her videos for fun lol Also, to answer your question of the day, yes! I'd love to see it again next year
Little Women 1994 is the only one that I love! The costumes, the cast, the way they weave the story. It’s truly beautiful and I squealed when you said it’s your favorite Christmas movie. I love that we get to celebrate multiple Christmas’s with them!! Love the poinsettia soap! Wish I could smell them from here. Have a wonderful break!
I'm a little late but I love how classical Christmas these are! Def something my grandparents would love but also something my teenage sister would like!
mixy mixy in the big containy. i love pointsettias, and i love red and green together. the thought and smell, and the real evergreens i love. i dont celebrate christmas per say. but i do like things that have just wintery sceens or wintery themes. and i love to bake stuff to give away and i give soap away all year as gifts. i like to make evergreen scented soap. just to brighten someones day. ive always liked to give things. and i definately like that i can celebrate winter, and be caring and reasurring to others.
THAT IS MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS MOVIE. Thank you for the validation, I say it every year and everyone argues that it isn't a Christmas film. Of course it is!
Love the soap! Looks amazing and the colors work so well together. But it also reminds me of my grandmothers nightmare of a sofa. Funny how things can work for one thing, but not for another.
I've done this with Resin, but would you be able to dust mica powders on the inside of your molds, ie: The top surface of your embeds to give it a more opaque finish (plus a gradiant, were you to use a different color), or would it just mix into the melt and pour?

I think the one thing you could add is a thin gold swirl. It would remind me of the gold ribbon usually around a housewarming gift of flowers.
I think this soap would definitely be worth incorporating into future collections. It is very cheerful and nostalgic looking; it definitely fits this season. I agree that making the poinsettias opaque would enhance the effect. On a side note, I saw the unmixed oil in the corners and thought that doesn't look right.
