Thanks for the vid, Scott. Appreciate the links to the safety gear you used as well. Though, I think you overlooked one item. Could you tell us what that is along the rope that runs the length of your roof ridge? I would call it a 'traveler', just don't see a link.
So in the state of Washington.. I have 8kw 20 panels connected to AP system microinverter inverter. The rails are grounded with #8 solid copper on roof. I have 2 parallel runs of 12-2 romex poking down from the roof top into attic. Going into EMT side of the house with LB. Transitioning in the LB with a splice into #12 thhn including ground. Down to a combiner box Does this seem right? I'm new to this
Hey Scott, thanks for this awesome video! I'm about to start installing a Solar Wholesale solar array on my house. I was wondering where you got the roof safety system you use in your video? I already bought a roof safety kit but I would like something that allows me to slide from one end of my roof to the other end easily.
@@scottssolutions3849 Had the same question. Can I give you a call or perhaps suggest providing the products used and their Amazon links in your video description.

Awesome video. Thank you for making it. One question I have is what is the spacing between rails did you use? I have to mount my panels in landscape and cannot find anything that tells me how far apart the rails are.
You want approximate 25% of the panels height or width past each side of the rail. If the width of the panel is 40”. The rails will be 20” apart. Don’t forget to account for the offset of the mounting bolt to the rail.
@@wanynyc Unless you live some crazy country. I have heard there are some. Making it hard for people to do their own solar. For the most part the home owner can pull their own permit. It shouldn’t be hard, call up your county/city permitting office to get the paperwork.
The solar wholesale website has no option of selling Panels, inverters, or other parts separately, only kits, Can't even check inventory. which is not wanted for us.
Currently I am working a roofing job before I install his panels. I will do a short video on the safety set up. I will try to have it uploaded sometime next week.
@@jasonsachinger3276 dual landed wires, no relabeling of neutral wires, no chaff guard for NM on penetration which should also have a means of being secured such as a saddle fitting, and fill is questionable....might be okay but the box is definitely pushing full.
@@user-dr2pg8fk2i Thank you. By dual landed are you referring to the ground bar having more than one wire per set screw in some spots? "Double/Multiple lugging" or something else?
I estimated around 130 hours of me working not including the help from the people working the crane. If you have help it would be a lot faster. Trying to snap chalk line by yourself is a pain.

11:45 neutrals must be relabeled when used as primary conductors, red tape or paint. Also the L1 for the combiner sub has been labeled as a neutral?

What license is required to DIY? And does the wholesaler assist with the permit process?

How much did the whole project run you financially?
At the time, after tax credit ~$20,300. That’s with me buying tools, my breaker box, wiring, safety equipment and crane material.
