I been stuttering pretty much all my life I’m 32 years old now. It feels like you have no breath at times and you do get the typical ridicule and jokes from people even at my age now. I learnt to cope and accept it. Some days are harder than others but it hasn’t hindered me.
What a wonderful program! When I was in high school, I had a friend who stuttered. He was treated as if he were stupid. He wasn't. But that treatment by his peers, and his inability to have confidence in himself and his abilities, marked his life. He never finished high school. He was an amazing artist! I heard that he eventually started a business painting store windows for the holidays and special sales and events. I know he would be very good at that. I haven't seen him for 40 years, but I hope he has been successful in his life.
I've stuttered quite often, as a young kid and to this day, I still do that, a little bit, but all I know is that I would never take life for granted, just like with how we saw Brayden Harrington, last night. What a bright young kid.
I used to stutter but got it under control, thanks to therapy and acting. Today when I tell people I met, that I am a stutterer they are quit suprised about that revelation.
Keep the faith…I have stuttered all my life and it has been a major stronghold on my everyday life…the worst is having all these college degrees and trying to get a company to hire you when you have a stutter…just gotta keep the faith and move forward.
Our middle son was diagnosed with stuttering when he was around 12yo. It answered many questions we had up until then. His classmates were cruel. He went to a Roman Catholic elementary school. You would think that their "Christianity" would have made them more compassionate toward his handicap. Stuttering does create many limitations. He became the brunt of jokes and harassment. Everyday it seems they took turns to bully and make him feel inferior. The pastor/head priest did nothing to stop it because the parents were high rollers in the parish and volunteered for all the fundraising beef and beers. We left the Roman Catholic religion because of it and other reasons. To this day, many years later, we have to watch him closely and communicate with him openly because it has created within him self loathing with suicidal ideation. Thanks alot Roman Catholic style "Christianity".
So very sorry that your family endured and was impacted by such cruelty. You did the right thing to remove yourself. An act of love and strength, not weakness. Good people/resources often come across our paths at just the right moment. Hoping that will happen very soon for your son, that he can align with self confidence and a passion to guide him forward.
@@shewholovestheworld5450...Thank you so much for your kind words of understanding. He is actually very bright. He just can't process the words quickly enough. Various therapies have helped. I hope you and yours have a Blessed day. 🌞
I chocked up at the mans story about his difficulty with saying his children’s names, people don’t understand the little things that many take for granted
Friend with whom I grew up stuttered throughout his childhood. In Junior high he began to lift weights. As he began to get ripped, he soon was cured and never stuttered again.
I been stuttering for 54 years now and I am happy to see how much everyone knows about it now.... if anyone would like to network and talk to me about it I am here Johnathan Smith
I’ve noticed I mostly stutter whenever I’m trying to tell a story very fast or try my best to tell a story perfectly... I end up missing a lot of words or I even choke on some words and I will keep repeating that word until I get the word right and wow I lose my breath. Or if I didn’t tell the story properly I tend to add the missing words on at the end of the story I’m telling. And the words that I choked on I will add to the end of the story and try to change them to more simpler words. Heck, while typing this comment I missed words and had to edit.
We really need to do more studies about the power of mushrooms and have more funded, controlled studies and take away the stigma surrounding this incredible medicine.
My father stuttered and I was in my late teens when I realized it. He had a beautiful and resonate voice and I loved listening to him talk.

I learned to control my stutter by either stopping when it began or just slowing down my speech.
