  • Mentoring and Coaching: calendly.com/a... I am Aman, a Student Physical Therapist.
Know your setting- Outpatient Physical Therapy? Inpatient? Pediatrics? Acute Care?
Dress Code: Pediatrics - spend a lot of time on the floor, choose clothes easy to move around in!
Inpatient- scrubs, easy to move in, comfortable all day, easy to wash, be aware of the color needed.
Outpatient- flexible pants, long sleeve/short sleeve polos or shirts.
Know the time of year and the weather- warm or cooling clothes. Never hurts to layer!
AirBnb/room rental- Location of the site may mean you need to travel so get an Airbnb, use facebook groups to find rooms, depending on the price and location maybe an entire apartment could be possible. Know your site and get a place nearby. Also be wary of the safety of the area you are planning to live if you do not know the location.
Don’t forget your notes!- Bring your laptop, may need it for documentation. Bring your notes as you are still a student and you may need to look back at the notes that you have.
Work hours and days- Find out the days and what hours you work so that you can plan to study, plan to explore, plan your meals, etc around those times.
Things to do near “your clinic/city”- You probably get weekends off! Make use of it! Find things to do near the area so you can explore, get to know the new area, meet new people!

Stupid question, but do PTs get paid during rotation hours? You referred it on the video about “working” hours.

No such thing as stupid questions! Some places may pay their students. For example I know doing a rotation at a VA (location specific) might actually pay PT students but most often there is no pay, just learning experiences!

@@AspectAman thank you for replying. I don’t mind not getting paid, it’s just that it takes a lot of our time. How someone works part time, study and do rotations? Crazy lol
