About Super Mario Bros. 2, they actually put a lot of extra effort to make it more different from Doki Doki Panic by adding new graphics, adding the whites of Mario and friends’ eyes, adding a unique boss battle, adding new cutscenes, you get the idea.
They also got the reasoning wrong on why it was changed in the first place 😅 it was only because SMB2 Japan was brutally difficult by design, regardless of if you already knew how Mario worked xp
Honestly, Idk a huge amount of TF2's history, but I think the Germany version was made before "Meet the Pyro", so when that film came out, I think VALVᴱ just replaced the original version of the sensored version for Germany to a Version of the "PyroVision" that was released during that update (I think it was modified to not have the "Pyro-Vision" map changes that we have when using an item that allows us to "visit Pyroland", that being one of 2 pyro weapons, or the Pyro-Vision Goggles)
@@ReaperGr448 yea thats just false the changes he talkes about are infact a whole seperate part of the game called mvm and the photos of oil and springs are just good old photoshop
I don't recall a single game that has actually been banned or changed in my country (the Netherlands), and even after a deep dive in Dutch gaming history, I can't find none. There have been some individual stores that refused to sell certain games like Manhunt or Hooligans SOE but nothing that has been done "by law" that I can find.
@@acerbaser you are kidding right? There are at least about 30 games either flat out banned or changed in Germany. RTCW comes to mind. As well as a bunch of KM's
@@mavadelo Most games that get changed for the German market aren't done so because of law. The publishers are afraid that they won't get a rating for the uncut game, so they make cuts before handing the game in to the rating agency and the rating agency can only rate what they get. Or they don't hand them in to get a rating at all, which essentially means they can't be sold on the German market. Return to Castle Wolfenstein was banned in Germany because back then Nazi symbols weren't allowed in video games (that law has changed by now, now video games are also considered an art form). In all following Wolfenstein games (pre-2017 or something like that) the Nazi symbols have been removed and even though the games have been rated uncut by now and can be sold in Germany uncut, Steam won't let you download the uncut version.

The Spyro games were changed for the Japanese release by having fixed cameras and digital eggs. not to mention Spyro moves a lot slower in the Japanese port
@@mast3gam3r18 No, the US didn't invent pizza. They certainly helped to make the dish more diverse, but pizza is an Italian dish that's older than Colombus himself.
Actually, the real reason the topi enemies in ice climbers were changed was because Nintendo was worried it would be interpreted as a reference to seal clubbing, which is something that really horrible people do. Yes, some people actually club baby seals
it not just Mario games. in late 80s-early 90s. Japan video game companies, did that to a lot games. back then. for Example: they never release Final Fantasy 2, 3 and 5 in the USA and Europe. just because they thought it would be too hard for us to play and understand the games. In the USA, they release what was call "Final Fantasy 3" on the NES.. but it was really "Final Fantasy 4" in Japan. Plus, they water down the game. They didn't switch to Final Fantasy numbers back until mid 90s. when Final Fantasy 6 came out for the Super Nintendo around the world. And then they finally release the Real the Final Fantasy 2 ,3 and 5 games to the USA and Europe until early to mid 2000s.
You forgot that in the Australia and NZ version of Pokemon Crystal, literally anything that refernces money is changed. Pokecoins from Pokemon GO actually came from that.
I love your videos they make me see cool and funny stuff and easter eggs. And I was wondering if you could make a video about dying light easter eggs. You dont have to make it if you dont wanna. I am just asking 😅
I know about the TF2 thing but I didn't know that it was in 🇩🇪 Germany. Germany did us TF2ers dirty. (Thank you for putting TF2 first. Nobody gives TF2 much of the spotlight.
Yea little thing for the South Park the EU and Australia version was censored only on Consoles for some reason if you buy it on steam or PC in general everything was OK.
True! For people who are wondering what happened to L4D2 in Australia: the R18+ rating didn't exist at release, so it was refused, and had to be censored for sale: less blood, no zombies resembling cops, no corpses and no death by fire. The uncensored version was re-submitted five years later after R18+ was implemented, and thus, us Aussies got the full L4D2 experience with a free patch!
@@PKLuver944 Why do the Australian government act like nazis when it comes to censoring media? They are probably second to Germany for the most restrictive country in the world in terms of censorship (aside from non-democratic dictatorships like China and NK).

I appreciate how some companies willing to change minor things to respect other countries laws just to let their games reach their fans no matter how stupid the law is Unlike EA who decided to accept the ban instead of just removing an Ad They don't give a Fk about their fans
Or they don't want to listen to a country's government or laws, it's about pride why should a company change a game they work hard on just for another country to force them to remove certain parts.
I was lol, my man changed it because people were criticizing him for making a thumbnail of Mario USA and Mario Japan and the Japan Mario was from doki doki clone super Mario bros 2 but Mario was always made in Japan lol.

I wonder what country is the strictest about video games where if it's basicly not a cartoon it has to be banned
What China did with Fortnite like removing transactions and free V-Bucks through challenges makes China a big W even if I dont play Fortnite
