That is Awesome. I can tell you first hand. I use to Drive these and haul tanks and other equipment on them . There is another tractor that I use to drive also. Its called the HET. Heavy Equipment Transporter . Cant wait to see it all finished.
Thank you for the nice comments. I can hardly wait to see it finished too. Had no idea what I might get when I started but it really looks nice behind the Hemtt and it is HUGE!
Bob.... That is INCREDIBLE!! The Scissor action is perfect. 👍👍 You've Scratchbuilt a PERFECT Lowboy - or could make a Civilian Lowboy using very similar methods!!
I think you're doing an amazing job with your videos. I also build rc models and I know that it is not easy to explain while building😊 Continue with the good job of explaining people in a great and easy way, rc builds from norway👍👍
WOW.......awesome scratch build!!!! So fascinating to see it come together from plain bare metal!!!! There's no question as to who's the teacher and who's the student on this channel!!! I wish I had your talent and workspace..........just beautiful!!!! Carry on mastercraftsman........I'll be watching and enjoying every second of your videos!!!!
Thank you for the info. That is a great idea to make the kingpin removable. Will see if that is something I can come up with and still keep it strong enough.
@@HobbyconceptsLLC this trailer is very similar to our oilfield scissorneck lo-boys. The oilfield version has what is known as a “floating horsecock” and it is dropped in from the top. The oilfield version also has the option of pinning the scissor joint in various positions so you can pin it straight or you can pin it in 2 different lo-boy settings for the different coupling height between different pulling vehicles. It appears that the “fifth wheel” height on your hemmit is taller than a regular tamiya truck.
Some fantastic work there, getting better every vid. Never seen a vid with this topic before. Well done. to hack up 2 Tamiya trailers kits took some nerve.
Wow, I love your custom build. I am currently building this trailer in LEGO in about 1:18 scale and I've used your video of building the model KIT as one of the main references. Thanks for the link to the manuals - those are a real gem! I found only particles of it on the net. Regarding your custom build. Have you considered builidng it in a way so you can have narrow or wide version? I guess it would mean a lot more work, but it would be really awesome. Looking forward to your next videos! Best regards.
I thought about making the wide/narrow braces work but decided it was going to be enough work just to get it built! Pretty happy the moving ramp turned out as well as it did!!
Great job Bob! the table looks good too, thanks for making these videos I enjoy them, and you'r attention to detail. P.S no thumping sound in background LOL
Thanks! I do think I figured out the mic feedback issue that caused the thumping. I like model building but shooting and editing video is all new to me! Slowly getting there....
This is exactly what I'm looking for. I drove the dragon wagon Oshkosh MK48/16 with M870 and the MK48/17 crane. This brings back memories and I've been in the market to purchase the same truck but I don't want it cause to me it's not complete without a trailer. Did you by chance save your plans for purchase?
I have the plans now and can probably make copies you could tape together. My email is in the description if you want to contact me about that anytime.
In the USA the military trucking is not required to follow DOT rules of overwidth and overweightrules.i now asi use to contract to the military as a truck driver
Crazy cool! Thanks for sharing the journey with us. 😀
Very nice work on this Trailer. Maybe I'm going to build one myself

Wow very nice job💪🏼
The pintle hook is actually called a kingpin. The kingpin is also suppose to be removable. You pull kingpin out before placing the neck on the ground.
Thank you for the info. That is a great idea to make the kingpin removable. Will see if that is something I can come up with and still keep it strong enough.

Vary nice work. The use of the kit parts is a good idea, you used all lot of them.
Yes, used most of the aluminum decking and angles and lots of the small parts. Next up the wood decking....
Beautiful build, great trailer! Can’t wait to see the next video 👍
Sweet build, Bob!

Thanks! I was wondering myself about cutting up 2 Tamiya kits when I started but now very happy I did.

@@HobbyconceptsLLC Your Doing an awesome job
looking good!
Just awesome 👍👍👍
Just need the 1/12 Abrams tank now
I would wish for HG to make a 1/12 tank - I would be first in line for that!!
amazing work! but where i can find drives axles for trailer what i wonts to build? or like yours
I do the axles in part 1 of this series here: ua-cam.com/video/9zlrr_m_frA/v-deo.html
Awesome build the trailer is awesome! I was wondering how wide is the base of the fifth wheel plate on your truck?
It is 2.255" wide and is a standard Tamiya semi trailer baseplate.
Bravo 😆 trailer look amazing
