Well, student loan attorneys are relatively new. We've had a lot of problems in the last few years, that have been well publicized with schools and the amount of student loan debt. It’s important to know that the servicer doesn’t represent you, the student or the borrower. They represent the department of ed, the creditor. They're not required to explain all the options to you or even if there are options available. If you don't understand the different options, if you’re getting different or inconsistent answers from your servicer, consult with a student loan attorney. You’ll be surprised at what can be done. Most of the clients who come to see us have no idea that anything could be done in the first place and many of them say, "I wish I’d seen you years before." So, please consult with someone that might be able to help.
Can Navient or any of these servicers report incorrect information on your credit report. For example, if you are on a payment plan for say $300.00 a month, but your original payment without the payment plan would be $900.00 a month, which of the two monthly payments are they supposed to report to the bureaus?

Federal yes. We usually cannot help with state issues though as we're licensed in Florida only
