Wow that looks so much better with the new wires and cable ties! I've been meaning to do that with my Mark 1 for years but never got around to it, but I can see now just how much cooler it makes the car look. So how many sets of cable ties do you estimate someone needs for the exterior? And are they all white?
Thanks! Yeah it really brings it to life I think. 2 packs of cable ties from Mike lane mods will do it, but maybe 3 to be safe in case some break and yes all white 👍🏻
Thanks for your great video. I am preparing my cable mod at the moment. For references, I take close-ups from the documentary „88mph“ abaout the restauration of the original movie car - this documentary is here on youtube. To be fully accuurate, i will use 4 blue, 4red, 1 black and 1 thiker yellow wire. All 0.5 mm in diameter, and the yellow one in 0.8mm. Also i will use the cable ties to zip the colored wires themselves, like the og.
Hey man! Thank you very much for this informative video. Your mods looks great! 🙂 My Hot Toys BTTF2 DeLorean finally arrived in The Netherlands last week, and I'm eager to start modding it with some of Mike Lane's mods. I ordered the tire decals, mini cable ties and the slide-in carpets. While I am searching for wires (similar to the Digitrax ones) in the correct color and diameter, I found that AWG gauge does not include the thickness of the insulation layer. I tried finding the total diameter of the Digitrax wires that you bought, but to no avail. They only mention AWG, while alot of other brands also mention the total diameter. Could you perhaps measure (preferably with a digital caliper, if you have one lying around) the total diameter of the Digitrax wire? Or otherwise, compare it to the original wire, side by side, to see if it is about the same thickness. When I quickly (and not so accurately) measure the original wire with a ruler, it seems to be about 0,8 - 1 mm in diameter. I found wires that are close to that, but I want to be more sure. Hope you can help me out a bit. 🙂
This is already looking cooler than your Mark 1, especially with the blue cable added. If someone chose to - do you think the ends have enough space to add 2-3 more cables? I am guessing if the ends are pinched and super glued, it should work maybe.
@@ghostbusterspluscollector9624 It already looks so much cooler with you having 2 red cables in there, comparing it with the real car - it looks just like it! The main reason I asked regarding additional space was because I am considering getting a thicker yellow cable and have the 2 red and maybe 2 blue if there is space, maybe even faking it by not taking it all the way to the holes. Will you also look at adding cables to the interior? Anyways looking forward to the updates!
Hey! Question for you, it looks like this bag of wires comes with one wire per color but at 10 ft each wire. Was that enough for the whole Delorean? I’m also having a hard time finding them on Amazon.
I tried finding them for you but I can’t find them now either. It was hard to find the 32 gauge size. If I come across them I’ll let you know. Yes they were 10 feet per wire and I had plenty of yellow and blue left over but used all the red wire cause I put 2 of the red on not just one.
@@ghostbusterspluscollector9624 Thanks man! That's super helpful since I wasn't sure if 10ft of red was enough. Sounds like it was JUST enough, haha. Maybe if I ever find this exact bag, I'll get two bags.
It honestly looks like the black bigger wire goes in the clips and the colored wires are all on the outside zip tied to the black and that’s why zip ties are even needed. Is that correct? I want to redo mine. I’ll check movie as well
Hey I wanted to know I did some things to my Markll Delorean, similar to yours my friend, let’s get in touch, maybe I can send you some pictures of mines and you can tell me what you think, I love this man very well done… I actually redid the headlights on mines and the tail lights, as well, to make them more movie accurate… hit me back let me know.

Looks great 👍🏻 another job for my list 😄
Great attention to detail dude!!! Definitely gonna try this when I get it
Thank you very much! Happy Modding 👍🏻
Awesome bro!! Great attention to detail!! Love it!!!!
Thanks!
Would love to see more of these mod vids!! Good stuff
Thank you!

Did you remove the speckle paint from the tires? If so was it just acetone? Great video
Thanks! No I didn’t try to remove it.
Now you've done it looks so much better and the Original wiring stands out and looks wrong.
Great Attention to detail 👍
What Scale is your Delorean?
Thanks! It’s 1/6 scale

Thanks! With 32 Gauge wires you could add 2 more but would really have to get them super tight to get the in the holes but yeah should work

In place of the electrical tape would heat shrink tubing be better?
Yes in deed, thank you. Thats what I meant by rubber hose lol. I always forget the real name of things. The electric tape is temporary
On the actual car, the color wires at the front are NOT with the black harness clips, they ride over top and are zip tied. Great video!
Thanks! I’ll take a closer look 👍🏻
