- Hey there, this is my own rendition of Albert Ammon's "Boogie Woogie Stomp" I learned this one mostly by ear and used different videos for certain parts I couldn't figure out. It's not perfect by any means, but I feel I have practiced it to the point where I can share it with you and I hope you enjoy it!
Boogie Woogie Stomp is a 1930s tune by Albert Ammons, based off of Pinetop's Boogie. It's one of the most famous boogie-woogie style pieces and there are many different versions of it.
Piano - Roland FP30
Piano VST - Garritan CFX Concert Grand (Full)
I'm learning how to play at 53 and watching people like you encourages me to keep going. You are were I want to be at. {:-)
How do you feel about it now? Any good progress?
Treated like the Classic that it is !

Good job with boogies. I would love to hear more versions. You got any thing in the works?
Thanks - not currently, but I do plan to do more boogie woogie pieces in the near future. 🙂
nice👊👍
very good
Is "perfect" a word that should be applied to blues/boogie woogie? I don't think so myself. Your interpretation is great.
This is the way it should be played, I have listened to other youtubers (wont mention names) do this song and while they do it well, there are parts they leave out. The other thing that I enjoyed is that you did not have to hammer the keys, forcefulness may have its place (or not) but it does not make a tune sound better, only my opinion and I might be way out in left field.
Thanks, I think my piano itself has a part to play in this too, as the keys are a bit on the heavy side, so playing boogie woogie with more force tends to be harder, but maybe it just comes down to technique (I'm self-taught) Anyway, glad you enjoyed. 😃
There are exceptions.
Do you know how to play boogie woogie blues (Albert ammonds)??🙂
Hello, I haven't learned that one yet. Reminds me of Shout for Joy (also by Albert Ammons) which I hope to do sometime soon.🙂
Why is the entire piano shaking?
It's sitting on a relatively inexpensive "X" stand so it's not very sturdy. It's not usually a problem unless I'm playing Boogie Woogie.
I would love you to be my piano instructor
I still consider myself a beginner but I would love to be a piano teacher one day :)
Too slow!
