+pianopappy Yes it's great. Hannes plays a very clean version. But if you want to see a real youngster play amazing boogie woogie, try Luca Sestak with the same piece. Be prepared to be blown away.
Unbelievable! Exquisite! Lots of work to get it sound exactly, and I mean exactly like Albert Ammons. It is the best portrayal of this piece I've ever heard. Five stars, man! Every single note is perfect.
If I could like this twice...I would!! I used to listen to "Gabriel... playing the blues and oldies for you and yours" on K.D.H.X. in St. Louis every sunday night and he actually had the original, which he was happy to say you wouldn't find anywhere else. He played the most incredible music. He was a trumpet player with the Ike and Tina Turner band way back.💞
This guy has managed to combine European boogie woogie...which is technical, as most of the musicians are classically trained, with American boogie woogie, which is emotional and usually learned at grass roots level.. and he's found the perfect balance brilliant
+MrJohno777 Indeed. This is what happens when you unleash a true concert pianist into the realm of Boogie Woogie. His technical superiority and feel blows me away. Watch his Hummelflug if you get a change. Awe-inspiring to say the least. Personally, I don't this particular piece is worthy of his talent.
Superb performance! It is worth remembering that the first half of Ammons' Boogie Woogie Stomp is essentially Pinetop's Boogie Woogie, which Pinetop Smith recorded in 1928.
I have been playing ragtime and boogie woogie for over 40 years, so I speak from some experience. That said; great playing and well done! Your playing is very clean and the extras added in were done with great taste. I always appreciate great playing and you nailed this one.
I am so grateful that my European friends have picked up the torch from the African American musicians who created the boogie woogie piano style. It would be too sad for this wonderful music to be lost in mists of time. Thank you!

quel plaisir toujours renouvelé d'écouter et surtout de vibrer à ces rythmes, et le soir cela redonne du puch après une journée d'emmerdes et maintenant que nous avons besoin de vivre, voilà le remède.
Are you from Mars? You can't be from this planet, why this video hasn't been played more than 90k times? Yo deserves more than 10 millions! I will help to make that happen! Greetings from Argentina my friend! Oh, one last thing, please.... I would love to hear "Boogie Woogie Blues" from you!
fast boogie woogie......thought the ghost of Lewis was playing. Nailed it, the left hand especially. Now this accurate rendition of BW Stomp by Ammons. Please give 6 wheel chaser a try, can't figure out that left hand to save me.
+Svend Tveskæg You couldn't be more correct! Such efficiency of finger movement and hand posture. Luca Sestak, although young, is also an excellent boogie player, and even though he has considerably longer fingers and reach, Hannes is clearly the better pianist. When you get a chance, check out Hannes' "Hummelflug" some time and then compare it to Sestak's "Joogie Wazz". I would also say that "Boogie Woogie Stomp" is a terrible piece to really showcase a pianist's talent and technique.
+ayokay123 Hannes certainly is among the greats. But please try Luca Sestak's version, too. Maybe you will be positively surprised. I am pretty certain you will not be disappointed.
This guy is really good. I can play some of what he does but still he's a much player then I am. I think if I ever met the guy and compared we could teach each other a few things that would be a benefit to both
quelqu'un sait pourquoi les premières mesures de la partition originales ne correspondent pas exactement à ce qu'on entend ? on dirait que c'est écrit un ton en dessous !
This Hannes Otahal is a piano genius, and the best of the best playing Boogie Woogie. Doctor George Whitehead
I can listen to Boogie Woogie music all day long.
+Wayne McClanahan. So can I.
+Wayne McClanahan me too!
un ottimo da gianni mura ok? saluti stop -
Albert Ammons, was the KING in those days..
Ditto!!!!
One of the best renditions I've heard in a modern recording...
This is an extreme accurate Woogie boogie, few are capable of this.
So true! Absolutely amazing:)
Excellent piano player
It’s his own rendition of boogie woogie
Its heartening to know that there are young people today who are learning this difficult piano style and keeping it alive.
+pianopappy Yes it's great.
Hannes plays a very clean version.

Be prepared to be blown away.
hey im a bass player for decades and now learning blues and boogie - at the age of 57... it s never too late :-) and it s fun
I didn't think this style was difficult at all to learn.
Look up "Nathan Plays" channel, more than keeping it alive! ua-cam.com/video/wkgt4eykJZg/v-deo.html
James Lewis he’s sick at the boogie and blues
That timing has never been more perfect
Brilliant and Energetic with a lot style thrown in.
Piękna muzyka,aż chce się ją słuchać non stop.Pozdrawiam wszystkich którzy lubią taką muzykę.

Literally watched this over and over about 20 times. Amazing!

Albert Ammons is getting a good laugh out of this one. The guy was absolutely spectacular. This is darn good.
Wonderful! Just great!!

Playing that bass like a BOSS!! That's a hard one to keep going. It wears your hand out after awhile.

I am pretty certain you will not be disappointed.
+RustyDust101 I've watched Luca's as well. His improvised riffs make the piece much more enjoyable to listen to.
Joja wendt- death ray boogie
Great job on this. And nice to mention the name of who created it. This may have also been the song that introduced 12 bar boogie woogie.
Amazing !!!!!

Kommt noch shout for joy ? Und villeicht ein Tutorial von shout for joy wäre total toll 😊
