The DJI Mavic 2 Pro is an incredible piece of technology, with impressive flying specs and nice camera quality and features.
We're talking a 1-inch Hasselblad 20MP camera sensor, up to 31 minutes flight time, 44 mph max speed, 4K 30 FPS video, 2.7K 60 fps, 120 fps 1080p slow-motion, (sadly no 4K 60 fps), H.265 compression, DLOG-M color profile, HDR photos, and more. Smart functions include the new Hyperlapse, OcuSync 2.0, ActiveTrack 2.0, Omnidirectional obstacle sensing, lower-noise design... the list goes on and I'm quite impressed. Price isn't cheap, however for all the power packed inside something small and portable like this, it's a deal to consider for many!

They are going to keep the 4k at 60fps on the Phantom lineup. They do not want to cannibalize their products by making 1 perfect drone. Camera makers do this all the time so they can keep releasing new and improved models every year
You might be right 😉 however the bulky size of Phantom can't beat the Mavic form factor

I think the Phantom 5 will support the interchangeable lens. So the Phantom 5 will become a mini Inspire. Then, it makes the difference between the features of Phantom line and Mavic line.
But the Autel evo does 4k 60fps. If they come out with a 1 inch sensor, it will destroy the M2P. The Autel Evo is already, in my opinion, better than the M2P. The 1 inch evo isnt even confirmed yet though.

No post-processing or MF, just shooting in HQ, editing on 4K timeline, and export/upload straight 4K. :)

Your "Follow Me" examples were of interest. I do a lot of river rowing, where there are protruding trees and bushes to consider, so the Active Track 2 looks to be the business. As with you, I've seen in a few examples where it loses the subject when confronted by dense foliage. A wrist-worn locator transmitter or controller-homing could overcome that. Mavic 3 perhaps?

Rb H as a parrot owner and a DJI owner DO NOT EVER GET A PARROT THEY ARE UNRELIABLE AND JUST PURE SHIT.
The clip between 3,33 and 4,20 is that the actual quality of the live feed or does the picture get more clearer?

Hello my friend. Thx for the video. However you spoke of the cache to the phone. I have both the pro and the zoom and both are only caching a 4:51 sec (approx) video on all resolutions before it cuts out and starts another one! Ugh.. Can you confirm this? If it's happening to you too. (I'm using a Android note 8) also happens on my iPad mini 4...I have all my setting in the go app to cache auto which means as much cache as the device can handle. Also to delete old if needed! Trust me there's plenty more the 450gb for each 4:51 sec video on my device.. Lol... I believe this may be a bug in the firmware. Also at times the audio will be missing. Again i think this is a bug. Wondering what your getting? Can you record (just with the cache) a 10 or 15 min video in your gallery to share to social media? Thx so much for any help...

It's just a matter of time when DJI sells the Mavic Pro cameras as a separate accessory so you can swap out what you want. Makes sense doesn't it? And BOTH the P4P and Mavic Pro 2 use the same Sony 1 inch sensor like the ones in my Sony RX100 and R10 cameras.

I think DJI will unblock the 4k 60 fps after they release the Phantom 5. It is not a technical issue, it is a market strategy issue.

They locked down the capabilities of the sensor because they’re saving for the Mavic 2 Pro Platinum edition..it’s all marketing. It’s definitely capable of 4K60. It’s capable of a lot of features the Mavic Pro has that they took out (such as precision landing)
Are the Prop Tips still soft like the Platinum ones?
I wouldn't call them 'soft', but they are semi-bendable

For sure they lock out the 4k 60fps by decision :) to not cannivalism p4pro or even the coming p5. If it had 4k 60fps it would cost maybe 200usd more. And about the side sensors wehh they dont work on other modes because dji wants to keep things for future models. They sell the technilogy little little, piece by piece, since no other competitive companies around.
Does the Mavic Pro 2 Active Track track you down the mountain?, i.e. the drone maintain the sema distance from you so it actually decend with you. The reason i ask, is that I recently try the Mavic Pro in the Andes, skiing down from 12000 feet mountain, but the Drone did not follow down, it maintain the elevation while we were going down, so the picture go smaller and smaller.

It’s sad to see every MAVICK Pro 2 video reviews, demonstrate the tracking abilities with the user moving so slowly. It’s just proof how bad the tracking really is. It stops too much. I currently own one and is only good for walking, If there’s any objects near by and I go from walking to jogging the drone will not keep up. Next time try not to walk the drone in a review and really show how bad it falls on it’s face.

AuthenTech - Ben Schmanke what sucks is I can never get it it to track and stay In front of me, So it flying backwards while keeping the front of me visible. It ends up moving to the side and getting a side view of me and eventually ending up in the rear lol. Super disappointed in the tracking

The gimbal of the original Mavic Pro could also be tilted above horizontal, but that feature was locked in the settings menu by default

Hi, the trajectory tracking feature is good but one question: What happens if the object being tracked changes it’s predicted path and, in the case of the car In DJI’s video, stops behind the rock outcrop and reverses back along its original path? In your video when you go under the tree and the Mavic goes over, if you had turned round would the Mavic have “spotted “ that and followed you back or just “predicted” a straight line ahead and kept flying? Hopefully you get my drift. Thanks for your review. Take care and catch you later.Peter.

Thanks Ben, I was just wondering how much detail the recognition software captures ie does it “see” colours and follows the red object for example or just any movement within its field of view. Also wondered if the feature has a timeout whereby it would have “lost” you if you had stopped for any length of time under the trees (maybe to tie your shoelaces). I can guess it’s an improvement but still needs a fair amount of compliance on the part of the person/object being tracked to behave in a predictable manner. Thanks again and catch you later. Peter.
It could easily handle 4K60. They just didn't want to p*** off Phantom 4 Pro owners!! ;-)
Did you have any scratches on the back of the Gimbal from it getting bounced around during shipping ?
No scratches for me. Wasn't your gimbal cover pre-attached?
I haven't ordered yet , there has been a few reports of the Gimbals being scratched and a couple of Gimbal failures and I wanted to make sure it wasn't a widespread problem and just the normal failure rate with electronics. But it seems like DJI could secure the Gimbals better with some foam around them.
