Absolutely perfect vocal technique!!!
Low larynx, totally relaxed, reaching with vocal perfection the exact frequency of the high notes. Very few lyrical singers manage to understand and master this time-honored technique that allows them to correctly sing any Opera Aria or Neapolitan Canzone and similar ones going beyond the passage (del passaggio) with confidence.
In short. It is impossible to sing in public without fully mastering this procedure or, rather, this extremely difficult and invaluable technique.

Yep!! Totally agreed! I have been singing tenor for 48 years and I am very impressed with his production. AND, he's a real tenor not one of these honking, cotton-mouthed bari-tenors.

Yijie Shi has an incredibly muscular command of this Bellini gem. Wow-I can’t believe I hadn’t heard this recording sooner. Those wonderful descending harmonies in the chorus at the end are great ambience for his chestnut-colored timbre.

Très bon aigu. Cependant le style belcantiste est parfois discutable: la voix n'étant pas assez soulevée, sul fiato, conséquence d'un timbre trop ouvert et immédiat à l'embouchure. Celai donne une attaque douteuse et douloureuse à 4:45 ; comme une voix en perdition. Aperto ma coperto, telle est la solution de l'énigme trop souvent mal comprise.

@@nicolehourcade Embouchure, la bouche. Remplace et tu comprendras certainement. Quand à ta remarque sur la rivière, elle m'amène justement à penser qu'il manque ce flot continu dans le débit de son chant. Tu amène donc de l'eau à mon moulin ! Amicalement.
@@nicolehourcade Vu la lamentable technique de belcanto et les intonations vocales souvent ratés sur les contrutes (vibrato pas de tout maîtrisé)pour les ténors actuels français ,vous aurez de quoi vous attaquer a eux quand vous voulez chère monsieur mais laissez les ténors asiatiques tranquilles après leur efforts incommensurables de maîtrise de la langue et de la technique de belcanto si non la FR sera encore traité de raciste ou nationaliste n'est pas?
