Maybe my favourite current tenor. Some contemporary tenors I find a bit heavy and forced and others overly light, but I just like the balance he was with his strong, clear sound.
Bravo! Just discovered him on Thanksgiving day this week. ❤️❤️❤️ Love his voice from his first note in La Favorite, 2014 in Toulouse, high and crystal clear. Four days later, I am still listening to him. Can’t wait to see him at the MET.
His dressing gowns too big, but make no mistake this guy sings with style, acting ability, and very pleasing lyricism. He obviously loves what he's doing. I'll bet the quartet in the last act was good too.
Warren Hamlet i agree with you. I saw and heard him as Fernando in La favorite of Donizetti 4 years ago, he was amazing, Donizetti is his best and his scenic and dramatic commitment was unbelievable.I hope to see him in Bel Canto again.

They make their own careers... I am not a fan of the music edu at China at all. Ringing voice, it is ever challenging for chinese to be great diction. Shi is great on foreign language, he is from Shanghai. Their language skill is superb among all chinese.
An admirable lyrical tenor slowly and soundly turning into a lirico spinto. May he always be clever enough to sing the parts his technics will allow him to sing. Contrary to Giuseppe di Stefano and José Carreras ........................
One of the best tenor in the world, i heard him for the third time and he is still amazing in Bel canto and now in Verdi🌸
