Oh Tony there is so much to say here. It was an amazing evening and I was so happy that you Mike and Ben took the ride out. Getting to spend time with you was a big highlight for this year. Our friendship over the last 10 years has been an a hallmark of my model railroading. The fact the we have met and got to know each other over social media, just speaks volumes in itself. I only wish that we had more time to talk. Hopefully now that retirement is coming soon I can make a trip to Iowa to run on the Rock Island! Oh thank you for the cool gifts and swag!
Hello Joe. Thank you Joe for the warm welcome and opening up your home for the evening for an Op Session. Having conversed back and forth over the years it did not feel like I was meeting someone new for the first time but instead visiting with an old friend. I'm glad that when Michael and I were setting up our N Scale Convention plans so many months ago, that I reached out to see if an Op Session was an option. There were so many railroad things that we covered on our trip out east but the Op Session on your layout was the highlight of the trip for me. I wish you well in the following months leading up to your retirement. If you ever make it to Iowa I will keep a throttle and a train ready for you. Enjoy that Corn Country Rails T-Shirt in Conrail blue & white. ~Tony
Glad to see you again, Joe !. Now that your retirement is coming and you will have more time to spend, hope you rethink the possibility to make a short vid just from time to time to show us the progress on scenery in your very realistic and beautiful N scale layout. I always remember you for your english which has taught me to understand more easly nowadays the native american people and I want to thank you so much for that !. My best wishes for you, my friend. This is John from Santiago de Chile, South America. Cheers !.
Wait a second here.... I hope you are watching my videos too, Mike. Only kidding you. I hope you are doing well. Did you see next year's N Scale Convention will be in Kansas City? There were already some discussions about the 2026 convention held in the West and possible conflicts due to the World Cup. ~Tony
What a great layout! Joe’s videos really inspired me when I was starting to really get into serious modeling, and I’m glad to see he’s still doing well and working on the layout! Wish I could get to run the layout, maybe someday! Glad you enjoyed, and thanks for sharing Tony!
Another great video Tony. I was unaware about Joe, his layout, nor his UA-cam Channel. It’s great to see the camaraderie along with the layout! Thanks for sharing.
Hello Bob, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Michael and I had a blast at Joe's and I am so grateful that it worked out and that we had the opportunity to get together and operate on his layout for the evening. ~Tony
Thanks for the video sharing this first face to face meeting of you and Joe. I miss Joe’s UA-cam presence so it was great to see his layout again. Hope Joe is able to get to Iowa soon! Take care! Scott
Tony, It was great to see you and Joe together. I have gotten many ideas from Joe to include the use of the foam for roads. Looks like you both had fun.....John
Hello John, Yes, we had a great evening operating on Joe's layout. More importantly, it was nice to have a friendship that started through Facebook and UA-cam come full circle by getting to meet in person.
What a great layout and ops session! That industry could be a small layout all unto itself, a great example of operating possibilities in a small space.
Very cool! Yes, Joe's layout gives you the feel of a large railroad as he has used his space so well not to clutter it with buildings and tracks. In reality, his train room is average-sized. He has used his space wisely. ~Tony
Geez, I was at the show Friday and was standing close to you, Ton,y but you were conversing and didn't want to butt in (showing my manners). Then about 90 minutes later, saw Joe and his daughter and engaged in some chit-chat. So close, and yet so far.

You are so right. I had to do a lot of thinking before making my moves when switching cars which I loved about that area. ~Tony
Good job ! Joe modeled the town I used live in Jamesburg NJ . Layout looks bigger than it is in person which interesting.

I wish you would have butt into the conversation as it would have been okay. I hope you enjoyed the convention. ~Tony
UA-cam sight for Yard Operations? What would that be?
It was a gentleman who used to host monthly UA-cam model railroad chats and Joe and I were a feature one time. ~Tony
