  • Here is the full extended episode with the current Lionesses boss & former England, Manchester United and Everton defender - Phil Neville.
Philip John Neville (born 21 January 1977) is an English football manager and former player, who is the head coach of MLS team Inter Miami CF. He is also the co-owner of Salford City, along with several of his former Manchester United teammates.
After 10 years as a professional with Manchester United, during which time he won six Premier League titles, three FA Cups, three FA Charity Shields, the Intercontinental Cup, and the Champions League, he joined Everton in 2005, where he spent the final eight years of his playing career. Neville also played for England 59 times between 1996 and 2007, representing the nation at three European Championships. He could play in defence or midfield; due to this versatility, he operated in a number of different positions throughout his career, but was most often used as a full-back.
After earning his UEFA B Coaching Licence, Neville began his coaching career in 2012, filling in for Stuart Pearce with the England under-21s. He then worked as a coach at Manchester United, and as assistant manager to his brother Gary at Valencia in La Liga. On 23 January 2018, Neville was appointed head coach of the England women's team. He led the "Lionesses" to fourth place at the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup.

In my opinion, Phil Neville's been the best interviewee so far. He has the intelligence to be able to see beyond the small enclosed environment of a footballer and to be open-minded and humble enough to recognise his own shortcomings.

But most people nowadays equate being successfull with how many books/podcasts you consume... That's because they want an easy way out, they are postponing decision making and real work, they don't know how to just do it and they lie to themselves to think it's helping them succeed to read 1000 books or podcasts. That's called madness in my eyes

It's about seriously thought out plans, and many very big steps, following a process.
I know Im overdoing the point, but it's something i was misguided on.
It confuses a person just to say take tiny steps.

Phil Neville 90% determination and attitude, 10% football ability. No way near the most gifted player and that’s being generous but his effort and being a role model was top notch. As an Everton fan I’ll never forget his performance against Wigan in the FA cup in 2013. Everton lost 3 - 0 and Neville put in the worst performance by anyone ever playing for Everton. In fact that performance is still the worst I’ve ever seen by a Everton player to this day. And don’t forget we toyed with relegation for years in the 1990s and where saved on the last day of the season twice that’s how bad he played against Wigan
