Hey Alex, is there a world where a corvus and havoc deck can work? Obviously it wouldn't work so great in ramp but do you think there's a deck that could be a brewin?
Not sure where to ask a mailbag question , I thought of three card ideas and I was wondering what you and cosy think . One card - when played , regardless of cost you can choose to play any two cards for free on your next turn. Card 2 - when played , copy the power of your highest powered location. Third card I would say makes leech look like a saint - destroy all cards in your opponents hand , to be fair maybe it could be a minus power card . Ok last card idea , sorry, you destroy only two cards in your opponents hand and gain their power.
I do love discard so I went for it and got first key, now I can 100% get proxima midnight next, el plan baby

He's a long-term investment for the Discard lovers out there. I don't think there's a top-tier build with him now but his effect seems too strong to never be good. Miek Disco will probably run him for now though

He was a must for me as a discard fiend, I’m hoping he really ends up being worth it in the long run.
But I feel he is much more of a ramp card.

What's your go to discard deck before Corvus?
This was the first week in months that I didn't get to pop into your stream even for a few minutes during testing, I was pretty disappointed. I personally had the most success with my old infinite discard deck, upgraded for modern times. Got me a couple infinite tickets!
Love coming to this channel for the no bs reviews and great content lol most yt channels are yelling THIS IS THE GREATEST CARD EVER IF YOU PLAY DISCARD YOU NEED THIS and alex always keeps it real not to mention its pretty hilarious seeing other youtubers right after alex posts they’ll post and say “look at this deck i made for the new card” trynna get all the credit and its the same as alexes 😭 im sure he’s used to that by now though
Honestly, I have seen it as a Hela ramp, and after getting it accidentally, i tried it and felt it was strong. My deck is fairly different. It can be played ramp or Discard, but can also be played pretty easily on curve.

Update I think the ramp deck is sick I do not play with a 1 drop tho gained about 100 cubes easy with it in infinite turn 5 magneto always owns they never expect it.
I spent two keys trying to get X-23. I got her on the first try and got Black Knight with the second. Definitely satisfied with that, now just gonna save keys for the Pixe/Mockingbird cache weeks.
Honestly Black Knight is a much better grab than Corvus anyways. Way more consistent.

I got thanos on first and black Knight 2nd key last week
I mean, I picked him up while I was pulling for Gladiator, so I'm glad there's a deck out there I can run for my weekend missions. I expect him to be good eventually, he just doesn't fit in most shells at the moment.
He's great in a Strong Man deck, and with Hell Cow so for sure no matter on last turn you can Hell Cow+Maximus or Corvus Glave+Gladiator/ some other high 3 drop to get rid of your cards.
Going to unlock my first key soon and decided to use it for this cache since I don't have any of the cards, but Corvus is the one I want least of the bunch.
Got him opening for glad only took 2 keys for two series 5 I’m happy I got insane value for collection reasons.
I wanted Gladiator so this was a good week for me to take a run at the spotlights. If Corvus ends up being playable, then that’s a bonus in my mind, but this week was Gladiator week 👍🏼
Alex, I usually agree with you on things like this, but damn! I put together a ramp deck that has been slapping. That Odin, glave, hela is such a good line. Jubilee, sandman, giganto instead of wave, blob and vision. It means you can't play much until turn 3 but then it gets crazy!!!
Ramp is my jam. That’s where I wanted to put him anyways. Kinda helpful cause I can ignore proxima and save up for mockingbird and red hulk
I'm a discard enthusiast. I spent 2 keys to get him. Feels good so far.
I love your card reviews Alex, they feel honest which is something I like, Corvus feels more like a Whale card but Proxima seems like a good card
I dont expect much from him at first, but i need x23 on spotlight and i got him while opening spotlight, and i swear using corvus ramp deck make me really enjoying marvel snap again. Maybe it's casino deck and no one like random discard, but it give me the fun in snap again, so thank you corvus 💙

We've just witnessed the birth of the Hela Shell. Corvus, Hela, Odin, you can put those into pretty much any deck and it just kinda...works.
This is the kind of card that I don't care if it is good. I love Ramp and I love brewing and this feels fun in both ways. Also, I wanted gladiator and that took 4 keys to to get 😢

Ran into someone cooking with C. Glave and the Black Knight + Infinaut combo. Ngl I thought that was pretty nice but I'm just going to chalk it up to luck.
Since getting to Infinite has been very easy these last few seasons I'm focusing on fun cards. Imo Corvus is a legit 3,5/5 and if you like discard you'll have a lot of fun with it
I have 4 keys for Mockingbird and I might try for War Machine if I have any let next month. Using tokens on Red Hulk in April. These past few months have been rough on Snap.
It has been pretty solid in a discard collector (helicarrier, meik, collector, etc.)
Opened this week for gladiator, got him first box. Was wondering if I should go for CG but I’ll save them after this video, thanks for the honest opinions Alex

I got an Infinity ticket right off the bat running him in a similar ramp list. There's definitely something there.
Went on full 4 keys just for X-23 variant by peach and gladiator. Got Sebastian Shaw as an additional mystery card. Disapponitment, but still ok cuz it's series 5 in the end of the day(hoped for nico or jeff as a mystery card)

Mailbag: Keep up the great work, this is my favourite UA-cam video every week!! Idea for Discard - Bullseye (2 Cost, 2 Power) Ongoing… “All random discards can be targeted”. I think this would be fire!! Benefits Hell Cow, Gambit, Corvus Glaive, Sword Master & Moon Knight. It would not impact Lady Sif, Coleen Wing, Blade & Silver Samurai. Alternatively, just give this ability to Sword Master to make him relevant. What do you think?
Omg that Odin on Corvus Hela is ridiculously genius. I gambled with three keys and of course got everything but him. But along side a Surfer deck, I'm gonna be trying your pop off one this week.
Yeah its a pretty cool combo. It was the basis for that design, and I am wondering how I could make it more consistent. I think the deck is a card or two off from being legit

I really like the ramp thanos hella casino deck. The extra energy allows you to play a stone and a 5/6 cost
I think the Ramp deck has legs, Proxmia's worth is also pretty tied to Corvis so its a tough week. I rolled all 4 because I needed Gladiator and I had 12 keys stored but I would have been ok without Glaive.
Only have 3 keys. Sounds interesting but ill probably wait for next month cards.

I got Corvus and I like to play Ramp, he feels good in this shell. But I didn't opened the spotlight for him - got in the second cache my object of desire : Gladiator.
I think its worth going for if you Love discard. Its fun to use and that extra energy has won me some matches. Also im a discard fan
Did a shenaut shell with it just in case I discard Hela and its pretty nasty. Also being able to ramp out Leech is cheeky 😂

Im a newer player and I got Kitty Pryde and Gladiator from the spotlight.. so tempting to go for corvus if i get another key but i dont have some of those bug 6 drops yet 😢 guess i will wait

Corvus hela odin is exactly what I've been cooking 💪🏼 also, your honest reviews of new cards are always the first I watch
So I first tried him in a traditional-ish discard list and the first 2 games felt good. But then I ran into the constant problem of having like 1 or 2 extra energy and absolutely no play, often because I just had no hand. So much so that I even cut MODOK and still ran into the problem.
I love the video, Alex. Fantastic work. As always, it stinks that us mobile players can't utilize deck tracker.
Honestly I was hyped for him but the more I thought about his use the more I figured he wasn't that good. But he might be great in future proofing

Ok we're starting to see something from these newer releases. Some of these cards are letting archetypes hybridize better. E.g., Ramp and Hela Discard, Junk and Rocks/Hawks.
Perhaps that's the design direction?
Smashed it with this deck. Can you please do an update of the Nebula/Glaive deck? This is astonishing, I am hammering everyone with it. I just think there are tweaks that could make this a #1 deck

the weird thing about this card is that, the most discard decks dont need that extra energy. Right Now, it just doesnt work with the classic discard decks except ramp hela
It doesn’t budge traditional discard but can be useful on some other decks.
Random discard is really tough, man. It can flat out lose you games. There’s a reason why Lady Sif, C. Wing and Blade are preferred.
Maybe Proxima will be better for traditional Discard.

i came up with an idea, maybe you could brew with it:
Quinjet, Corvus, Helicarrier.
You get a bunch if random cards that are cheaper and have an extra energy.

Have you tried it in surfer ? I know it's a 3 card combo but if you play him + sera + magik you can play 4 3-cost cards on turn 7, cheating a lot of power. The thing I wanted to try the most is that he doesn't limit you to 1 card per turn like electro.

Got it with the first key trying to get Gladiator
I've tried a similar ramp deck when I got him yesterday and he feels irreplaceable on that archetype. I think too many people tried too hard to fit him in already stablished Hela and discard shells, when the strength of Glaive is having one more ramp card in your deck. Electro + Wave + Glaive makes it so by turn 3 you have a 90,909% chance of having at least one of them in your hand, compared to the previous 77,272% with just Electro + Wave. That's a ton of consistency added to the deck which just wasn't there before (no, Psylocke wasn't a good 3rd ramp card).
As a side note, I'm personally preferring to avoid 1 or 2 drops in my Glaive-ramp deck, playing 1 + 6 drop or 2 + 5 drop on T6 is rare (can only be done with Glaive and very specific hand states). With him is just better to spend T1 and T2 filling your hand with other cards to reduce the odds of him hitting your playable lines (i.e: T4 5-cost, T5 and T6 6-cost).
Feels like a whatever card that isn’t really needed. I’m sure people are having fun games with it, but I doubt it stays or becomes the meta. I get every card, so I have him, but don’t even feel like trying him out because RNG decks never work out for me. Feels weird where he’s a discard card that shouldn’t be used in discard. But one of my favorite decks to play is a hybrid move/discard deck with Silver Samurai, so I guess it’s not that strange.
Damn, Alex, that's some god-standard deck-building. I hadn't considered him as a real option for ramp. Love the Odin-Hela combo.

That’s cozy deck! Very similar he didn’t have nebula but I have every discard card inked even miek and he really did feel cutable in discard hes good with hela but I think he is best in ramp.

Burned 3 keys praying for him, didn't work. Gladiator, X23 and Ms Marvel. I seem to get quite lucky with the random rolls, getting Alioth instead of High Evo previously.

Hey Alex, Was wondering if you thought to try him in Thanos, you could time stone 1 corvus 2, theoretically seems like it might be good. Hear km best mention this on the snapshot, hadn't heard anyone else think of Thanos before that.
I figured everyone else was going to, so I tried to do something different, and everyone basically did what I did LOL
To rephrase that, I mean we all just did the same thing at the same time
I've always loved discard (admittedly it's more that i love Dracula than the archetype) so this and proxima are must gets. That said, i totally get why others are passing on them

Black Knight doesn’t want the random or even multiple discards. As expected, Corvus and Proxima aren’t pulling Traditional/Apoc Discard out of its post-Chavez rework slump.
Discard 2 to Draw 1 would’ve been much better in that respect.
Using Corvus as ramp tech is interesting but between Wave, Electro, Ravonna, Zabu, Sera etc… Unless the data supports it, seems more a gimmick than an actual use case.
I ran out of keys and didn't get him either. So it hangs out in my token shop now.
I wanted Gladiator and got him on my first key. And then I watched a couple of streamers play corvus for like two hours and I don't think I'll spend any keys on the guy.

Corvus is pretty great in Loki in my testing tonight. The ramp deck seems to perform very good. Dracula dump with Corvus will be fun to test.

You’re the only reason I spent 3 spotlight keys this week. You just put Gladiator into every deck and have fun even he just ruins your play. So the real question is, shouldn’t I spend a 4th key for Corvus cause I love Hela casino a lot? (Btw I already had x23, but variant is cool, got new cards Gladiator and random Snowguard, so I’m happy for now)

Great video but I just want to note:
That whole special combo you highlighted could be played the exact same way with electro and hellcow already. So to me, forcing a card into something that can be done twice makes the deck too tunnel visioned.
