Very very helpful video . I am looking up wiring diagram for my Audi Q7 for the brake light . When I look up the PCM physically , I saw there are two similar PCM next to each other . It made me confused which one I should look . In this situation , how do you select the right PCM ? Thank you
Hey broth> I'm from the netherlands > i'm installing a compustar remote starter on my toyota Prius V 2013. But there is a problem. The location of the pins especially the the wires Tx, Rx and the parking wires are not at the location shown on the install guide. I do see the colors mentioned . but not at the loccation what they said. You have a solution for me Bro.
@@Joeelectronicschematicsforauto At the side of the car they go to the connector L7 that is plugged into the main body ECU. The other end is going into the idatalink module AL-Blade. There is no specific mention of the fuction of these wires other than that they should be connected with the TX and RX and Parkinglight wires of the Main body ECU connector L7.
The TX and RX lines our communication lines that stand for transmit and receive lines basically you can Google when you put in your make and model of your car and wiring diagram for L7 connector to ECU it might help you match up the wires if you need more information just get back to me
@@Joeelectronicschematicsforauto 😄Frankly I've been googling this almost every day but it is hard to find information about the Prius V. Is there a way to test these wires like how you can test 12V ,0V etc
See the difficulty is you talkin about data lines for transmitting and receiving data not just 12 but if you do want to know 12 v find a ground try to measure each point before whatever voltages you get write it down and informed me again data lines will give you different readings
Hey broth. I was very busy with my work(Taxi driver,NOT Uber😆) these days, but today i had some time to work on the car. Because of the location of the ECU it is very hard for me to measure these wires . I will have to dismantle the whole front below the steering wheel. I have never got that far. Any other suggestion broth.
If you're familiar with a scan tool you can use it to give instructions and commands that's why they are bidirectional tried to get the wiring diagram and see maybe there's another easier location that you can measure the same point as those wires
@@KennethMayland it depends how much knowledge you have of systems the scanners out there. Give live data stream on the best but you have to know something about the system if you just want to know colds and just get a code reader I find autel is good but you will pay more if you need more systems on the scanner to be tracked
@@Joeelectronicschematicsforauto Well i'm increasing my knowledge. I bought some books, but after I return from holidays I will follow some classes electronics. I have some basic knowledge
very helpful video u did a great job

You look at the color of the wires and the pins make sure they match up
@@Joeelectronicschematicsforauto thanks

So where do both ends of the wires go to exactly because just looking at the colors that could be the same colors but for different functions

@@Joeelectronicschematicsforauto Oh yeah i've been thinking about purchasing a scan tool for a while. You have any recommendations.
