  • automotive electronic modules understanding them and the problems they have. this talks about different types of surface mount technology and multi-layer boards and also double-sided boards. it talks about the different aspects and problems that arise from downsizing the boards. specifically the components being smaller gives a problem especially during vibration of the car not just heat

Keeper coming Joe!!!I'm learning alot!Your knowledge is very useful it explains a lot of things that I deal with that on an everyday basis as a mobile mechanic.Only been a mechanic going on 4 years. And I know this information isn't found on any other video because I've watched almost every video on UA-cam about car electronics modules etc,etc

It just need some practice on understanding the symbols and then the components how they work and then you put everything together but glad to hear it Jay

You are right about it I’m running into a problem I can’t figure it out, I have power and ground in one circuit!!!

Sometimes these boards double sided with layers in between and they short in between nothing you can do with the printed circuit board

Wish we could demand automotive companies use mill spec quality boards …this is why im not buying a new trucks even have sensors in tail lights and sensors that void warranty if you load a pound over max capacity…then the sensors fail and force limp mode and they charge you arm and a leg for new one…give me a 60’s VW bug and I’ll outlast any new vehicle

I agree with you one hundred percent I still have a Toyota RAV4 from 10 years ago a crown Vic from 13 years ago they are working absolutely fantastic no problems today too much electronics like I said in my channel all the time too many sensors too many modules something is bound to go wrong

@ 0:41 "These are transistors over here..."
    ...points to capacitor.
@ 9:08 He couldn't think of the word for traces? I mean, come on, really?!
This is stuff you pick up in like the first 4 minutes of studying electronics!
You have a background in what, again??! Lol *facepalm*

The ones that has three legs are transistors capacitors are the brown ones where I'm actually pointing is overall area just to give an idea if you want me to go into real depth of it it'll be a 2-hour video

I don't see too many automotive technicians even trying to explain these complex boards because it's so technical what is your background?

Do you think people will understand what traces are don't look at my other videos I explained how to measure point-to-point on printed circuit boards if you go to my channel you'll see exactly what I'm talking about number one number two are you going to go buy a scope for $8,000 are you going to buy a heat gun are you going to buy soldering tips when you can throw away the board and buy a new one for cheap

My background is electronics and avionics automotive digital electronics which I made videos but people were not viewing transistors and class A b and c which people said it was too technical Gates comparators microwave RF technology troubleshooting a.m. and FM radio troubleshooting do you need to know more?
