For anyone watching this if you happen to buy the factory Stihl piston stop like he’s using, the threads may be cut poorly from the factory. I bought a brand new one and it would only go one thread in the spark plug hole. I used an M10x1.0 die to clean the threads up on the tool and it fixed it, threads in perfectly now.
I just tore my 600 down for bad crank bearing before it seized anything. Everything looks good just one bad bearing. Any good video of removing and installing the bearing. I’m guessing the timing is off also now.
I've replaced the flywheel side bearing before with a used one but never the fan wheel side Stihl doesn't even offer the bearings as a separate item. You have to order the whole crankshaft assembly which is around $200 retail I'd be happy to see if i can get the bearing off that side with the gear and do a video on it. Please let me know if you have any more questions!
Hey there I don't have anything on just replacing the seals but if they are worn I'm sure the engine pan gasket needs to be redone as well but you'll have to pull the engine to do so. Stihl makes a seal puller/remover but its fairly expensive and makes more sense to pull the engine and carefully remove the engine pan and replace the seals as well as redo the RTV engine pan gasket material. You can get some at your local hardware just make sure it's high temp that's what they use from the factory and be careful not to screw with the timing or you can pull it apart for fun and inspect the internals as well but you'll have to reset the timing then good luck! Your questions are appreciated so ask away if needed thanks!
Chainsaw Matt thanks! I may just sell the blower and buy the br 800 or the pb8010. I’m not too familiar with taking the whole blower apart. May be more of an undertaking than I can handle. What do you think about the bigger blowers ?
@@crf50crazy I absolutely love the BR800 gobbs of power and haven't seen not even 1 issue after selling them for almost 2 years I'm partial to my stihl's but echo makes a great product as well I have not ran the pb8010 but heard it will hang with the BR800 all day it really comes down to the dealer you like most how old is your br600? and how much has it been used?
Chainsaw Matt I have 3 br 600s. This one has not had many hours on it. I mow about 3-4 days a week I also use the hurricane blower the most during leaf season. I loveeeee that machine. I have a video posted on my UA-cam
@@crf50crazy Hmm thats odd what makes you think that the seals are leaking? I watched your video that thing is no joke lol but the dildo is haha i subscribed to you
This is super helpful! Thank a bunch!

Hey David I do have a video on rebuilding the engine and setting timing but no video on pulling the bearing which side is the bad bearing on?
Matthew Rushing bad bearing is on the impeller side behind the gear. The other side is not as bad.

Matthew Rushing that would be great ! Looks like I can order bearing 3 rd party. There all over it just no videos of proper installs.
New video is up on removing bearing and gear!
The br600 is green!
Great video. Do you have one on fixing the seals? My br600 is leaking some I think

Doesn’t show how to split the cases…
