Piloteleverne - Top Gun på Dansk Grund (2:8)

For første gang nogensinde har et kamerahold fået lov til at følge et hold pilotelever.
På Forsvarets Flyveskole i Karup går en drøm i opfyldelse for 23 unge. De er nemlig blevet udvalgt blandt mere end 1.000 ansøgere, som hvert år så brændende ønsker sig en plads på skolebænken i Karup. Nu skal de forsøge at klare sig igennem en af Danmarks allerdyreste uddannelser.
I denne serie får vi et unikt indblik i de prøvelser, som eleverne skal igennem, før de kan kalde sig pilot.

They are speaking Danish, in case you were wondering.
As for the decoration of the dollar bills; that is part of a tradition in flight schools called "dollar ride" which is essentially when the students first go on a flight. They pay a symbolic one dollar bill to the instructor which they have decorated with magazine clippings, drawings, phrases etc. The practice originated in the US (as evident by the fact it's an American dollar bill that is used) and it's since then become a tradition at flight schools both in the US and in other countries 😊
