    This is a nice and helpful UA-cam tutorial, but I got help from the UA-cam comment sessions and I got my CDL. I was told I only had to hit the UA-cam search icon and type in Stray Administration, and it worked when I tapped search

    This helped me realize I might be able to find a happy medium between going to cdl school and paying for a cdl through a trucking comany. Thank you, you just potentially saved me thousands of dollars.

    It was really a trill for me that I found this video when I needed my CDL the most 😞and I don’t know what I would have done if I didn’t see you guy’s talking about Stray Admin on the comment sessions, I was able to get my license through the recommendation and I got to admit I’m really happy 🙃🙃..

      What is up with all these fucking bot account commenting on trucking videos talking about "trill" what the fuck is trill? Look at all the truckers CDL video comments and there are the same cut and pasted ones over and over with a mispelling and the word troll in it. How fucking weird!! Is this some weird Communist shit to mark any word with trucker type shit in it because of the truckers that did the Freedom parade shit in the United States and Canada? Because these accounts all seem like it's some foreigner talking gibberish.

    This is not at all to discount what the man was saying in the video, but I wanted to add to it. The reality is you will pay for training whether you go to a formal school or not. Companies that are willing to train like his in this scenario, they're going to pay a significantly lower CPM than companies that only hire pre-trained drivers. Nothing is free in this world. You will either pay for it up front by going to school or you will pay for it on the back end with a smaller check each week until you have sufficient experience and have fulfilled any obligations necessary for you to move on to a better paying job. There's no way of knowing which option will be cheaper short of literally doing the math based on what a school in your area will cost vs what likely 10-20 cents less per mile will be out of your paycheck every week until you move to another company. Also personal circumstances matter here. If you're financially in a bind the method he described would be ideal as it allows you to get your foot in the door without significant upfront cost.

      Adam Conner I didn’t make any less than someone that went to school. I actually had 1 year of driving under my belt when I left and went OTR. I know what your saying some will make less.

    I heard Id be able to go to the dmv and take the cdl permit test either class A or B then go to a trucking school just for the inspection test and road test instead of paying that 5-8k just pay 250-500 for the inspection and road test.

    An interesting journey to get a CDL dear, happy it went well for you, I had a different route tho 🌝, through Stray Admin. made my story easy cause I reached out for assistance and got myself a Commercial license… I only typed Stray Administration on the search icon of this platform to access his UA-cam Channel…

    Good story...lucky brake on finding the company to train you. Not many will do that now. It varies from region to region I guess on what the schools charge, but I don’t think it’s worth it. Some colleges even provide the training at a much lower price. Don’t give them up...your cdl. 🤩

    Here's the problem. Most company's that pay very well want a driver to have had at least a 160 hour training by a "certified" school before they hire ya. Then they will put you into a OTR training program with a trainer for at least 30 days of paid training to shape you into a good driver. I'm not saying going the non Academy training doesn't work. But just be aware not everyone will hire a driver without a 160 course training under their belts. Insurance companies will consider you a higher risk without the additional training.

    sorry to bust your bubble but there is no way around it unless you know someone with a truck that will let you practice driving it and is willing to teach you

      ilya Not true, if you look up Truck Leasing company or Truck Rentals you can Rent a truck for $480 and you can learn or find someone you know to teach you now that you have a truck and practice. So know what the Fuck your talking about before getting on a public form and spewing out that garbage🤦🏽‍♀️

    That's how I got my license. Companies are so desperate for drivers they definitely will train you and if you don't believe me, take a look at Craigslist under employment and transportation, almost every single ad is companies looking for CDL-A drivers, every town, city, state. But just remember, it aint an easy job. You basically drive your fucking ass off all all all all all the time, you are rarely home and just to make $500 you have to drive 1000 miles and that is $500 BEFORE taxes, it's really shit money for the aggravation and loss of free time and now you make even less because the Obama caliphate added 9,000 new regulations limiting how much time you can drive a day which the mofo did on purpose to raise the cost of everything else.

      Most CDL courses are $3-4K. There is one in Conover NC that is just $2700. And you can get it from some companies by signing a year contract with them, like Roel, Warner, CR England, and others. TroopsToTruckers.com works if you have military veterans.

      Cabbarus College does it around $1,900 as of 7/2/18. The permit is easy, but the driving you need a CDL driver to even rent a tractor and trailer, then there is time and cost of the DMV road test. Just pay the school costs which is about 1/2 what you'll make in a month afterwards. *Also companies supposedly won't hire without a school because insurance*

      Just like you will do with Swift or Prime, ect.... lots of companies offer school does days, best thing to do, get your learners CDL A go to swift 3 weeks classes then 200 hours on road with a mentor, then CDL test, when you have your CDL drove a year for them, then you have some experience most companies wanted at least 6 month to a year experience before they give you a job

    • @erikbreaman9124
      @erikbreaman9124 6 років тому +2

      Lots of companies offer free school that gives you an E restricted CDL and a legally binding contract to work off around $8,000 for that restricted CDL.. Community colleges test is manual so no restriction. You can do community colleges free with WIOA funding which is easy to get..
      Also you need an actual tanker to get tanker endorsement these days through either.. Else you gotta get up your experience and find a company that will let you use theirs later. Not even community colleges and most private schools have a tanker to get that endorsement, and local tanker drivers make more than any line-haul or long-haul driver..Stay away from doubles, triples, and flat-bed it doesn't make much more than refer and regular and is a lot of trouble for nothing

    How do you get a job cause most places require experience

    • @joeallen2286
      @joeallen2286 4 роки тому +1

      Alec Pointer every industry I’ve ever worked in require “XYZ” experience. Ignore requirement, and think “would prefer.” Apply and practice creativity when thinking about how your past experiences can help you compete better with other applicants, assuming they even fill all their open positions.
      I just spoke to one company and they said the biggest thing they look for is a pattern of DUI, Speeding, and negligent violations, beyond that if you’re wiling to work they’re willing to train. They run doubles and triples hauling tomatoes and such.
      With that said some are more stern about their preferences than others. Look at the major farming operations, every season they’re training new guys for free in exchange for a season of driving (JULY - OCTOBER) here in Northern California. Show up with your medical examinations and have your permit in hand, thats huge if you’ve got that without them having to ask.
