Loved the focus on Necromunda in this episode. It's a game my mate and I have only recently gotten into - he went with Cawdor and I've gone with Delaque. Given how Delaque are all bald, I took inspiration from the criminally underloved Alien 3 and named my gang the Echoes of Fiorina (named after the planet the prison is on in the movie). My mate bought STL files that let you make nameplates for your bases so I've named the gangers after the male characters from the movie and they all have their nameplates. We've only played one game and thankfully nobody died but it's going to happen and I'm dreading it! Just need to get them painted now! Oof, that sheer, honest frustration in Peachy's eyes when talking about missing out on the Ambull expansion. I felt that. Had the same experience with the No Respite expansion. That one was gone in the blink of an eye, too. Although the Ambull set could be hunted down fairly well until some time in late 2021. Now, though ... A nightmare, as with all the other expansions.

Totally agree with you, I love details and design, it's one of my favorites parts of the hobby, to find and appreciate small details and story and atmosphere of the model, even if nobody will notice it when I paint it If for someone as for the host it's just a play token, well skip details, it's easy
A good example is over detailed standard troops are the newer Orks and Orruks. For something you'd traditionally paint 50+ of there is so many little details or different materials. The standard Beast Snagga boyz for example.
I really appreciate getting a little more of GW's perspective from Peachy on things like what happened to Cursed City (a favorite of mine, but a perplexing saga from start to finish!). I'd love some of Peachy's perspective on other things like what GW's ultimate plans are for Primaris and Firstborn. Are there plans to consolidate data sheets and just let all marines models "count as" the newer primaris ones? It's what I'm doing anyway, but I'm just curious if it's something GW has official plans for or not.
I spit out my drink about the gyrocopter cockpit. I have one on my workbench and took a picture of all the beautiful detail that will never be seen again. That said, I'm used to details disappearing as a long time modeler. As a wargamer I approach it much slower (2 years and I'm up to 900 pts of KO) but I love all the greeblie bits.
I would definitely buy Blackstone Fortress! It's a solid set with some beautiful models. The limited run was the worst for Blackstone so it's good to hear it wasn't just me who hated that aspect of it.
I collected all of crused city, bought all the characters, and its still sitting in the boxes. I just have such a negative feeling in my gut whenever I look at it that I haven't gotten it to the table to paint or play. I'm sitting on it all in hopes that time will smooth over the hugely negative experience the whole charade was. Failing that, I'm sure it will sell for a few pennies down the road.
The part discussing pouches on pauldrons reminded me of old British smocks (60s, 70s?) that have this little pocket on one shoulder that is quite hard to access.

Trying to maximize their worth because youre right they cost a lot.

I'm definitely on board for a narrative Necromunda campaign! I played the OG Necromunda (and still have the Spyrers in a box somewhere), but haven't played it since. However, since the revamped Kill Team, I've been getting more into skirmish gaming, and it'd be nice to have a primer on what it's like now.
Probably a result of having watched Peachy for too many years, but I have switched to calling my homemade biscuits scones. I also wish I could find his classic "How to cuppa" from a long ago WH livestream. So much knowledge!
36:00 zenithal highlight and contrast paints is what has saved me when painting plague marines, but yes, the one with all the maggots is frustrating especially if you're new to the hobby and prime them in death guard green and then have to block in every single detail.
Great episode as usual, gents! And this is the first time I’m finding out the Mighty Brush Raptor decals are all gone. Jeez GW. 😢 Thankfully I’ve not started them yet, but I guess I’ll have to come up with a new Chapter badge for my force!
I know everyone mentions this, and there's some definite shady shenanigans going on in the space. But the elephant in the room here is 3D Printing. 3D Printing an entire plate of shoulderpads is currently possible, as for example printing an entire 'Battle Brother'; so torso/legs, helmet and weapon, costs about 15p in resin. You cannot tell me, regardless of how much the sculptors are paid, that making those as Made to Order Resin, couldn't be 10 Shoulderpads in a box for 5 Pound each and STILL not make money. Hell the made to order could be done in the bloody shop! It's absolute madness.
The best glue for glueing clear acrylic bits are in my opinion the E6000 glue, its industrial glue that dont make fogging on clear plastic, its super strong, and there are company selling it in tiny tubes so you dont have to buy a industrial size, like greenstuffworld and pk-pro
Well. I'm not American, but I'm also not British, so I appreciated the explanation of a "jammy dodger." Now I know that it, like so many British things, is exactly the same as what we have in Canada but with a weird name. (We call those fruit creme cookies. Some folks call them "French cremes," but that's actually a brand name. They do come in various flavours although raspberry-ish and strawberry-ish are the most common.)
My Orlocks are named after Peep Show Characters. So I Rusty Mark, Dancing Jez and my heavy stub gun wielding road sergeant is Super Hans. Please, please do Necromunda content. It's such a great game.
Being from Germany with a retired English teacher in the family, and speaking/listening to English at a very early age, i have absolutely no Problem to understand the specific dialects.
Such a nice show ! I was delighted to ear about Necromunda and how you like this game. Me too i can't live without buying everything... except the cargo ridgehauler.... Keep doing such good shows !
The toothpaste story reminds me of many situations I've been in. I live in China and can mostly get about now, but when I first moved over I couldn't speak much. So many times miming things or trying to explain what it is. 'Do you have the thing to clean your teeth? Not the brush, the white stuff' 'Do you have a machine for toasting bread?' 'Do you have a tooth brush for your hair?' 'Do you have the brown/yellow drink with bubbles for parties? Children can't drink it'
Another brilliant video. Totally agreed the comms about Cursed City were very badly handled. I don't feel it justified half the toxicity though. I also managed to bag a copy but there was such negativity around it that I lost all buzz for the genre and sold my copy (at a slight discount) to a friend who missed out. On the flip side I do also sympathise that a business shouldn't be expected to disclose all their issues to the public. That's not a good business model.
Decal sheets are a bug bear for me as Forge World used to make loads, including Raptors, and Minotaurs that became a bit of a fave in FW books partly down to Phil Stucinskas collecting them as his own army and I think Mark Bedford too but once they went away that was it and they changed hands for £100 and up for what was once a £15-20 A4 sheet. The HH ones that disappeared could go for over £200 as they got rare. To stop 3rd parties making alternatives is taking the piss when GW won't or can't be bothered to produce their own.
I love my Deathguard...I love them all...the dozens of maggots, tentacles, boils and the other hundred details. and i painted them all with joy. each one is unique. :) In my humble opinion coolest 40k army I
I still have 2 fishing rods that were my grandfather's, one of them is c.100 years old. I can't think of another wargame though that removes models from their games, historical ones will always remain the same and things like Battletech still use minis from launch. Kings of War still support the stuff they used to have
The way you are describing the Ash waste vehicle scenario sounds like "Da Chase" from GorkaMorka. I might need to look into this for an update version of that,
Use to play OG Necromunda with my best friend who also played against his older brother who took it less seriously so one of his gangers had a hatred of "Sour Cream" after one recovery role
I remember gw did a course type thing for staff call gw 101. I remember a quote in a chat from Tom Kirby "we charge as much as we dare". And that was that as far as his chat on pricing went really. Nothing about what "the right price" is or should be.
Reminds me of an old joke from Steve Martin. He held up a box that had the following printed in bold letters: Definitely Not Penis Cream. It must be more Warhammer.
I've always imagined space marines fighting like knights where they would buddy up and work in pairs, the pouches around the armour are actually belong to their partner and are for them to use
Peachy's departure from GW was a blessing in disguise
"For a plant in a pot to grow bigger, it must be repotted" - Some guy named Christopher :p
You think he has to use peachy because the GW legal team own his real name and his 1st born.

36:00 zenithal highlight and contrast paints is what has saved me when painting plague marines, but yes, the one with all the maggots is frustrating especially if you're new to the hobby and prime them in death guard green and then have to block in every single detail.
Lovely to listen to. The Necromunda stuff sounds amazeballs!
Great episode as usual, gents!
And this is the first time I’m finding out the Mighty Brush Raptor decals are all gone. Jeez GW. 😢
Thankfully I’ve not started them yet, but I guess I’ll have to come up with a new Chapter badge for my force!
Thanks for the tip, I’ll definitely bear that in mind.
Nice to see Tan y Castell products on screen. :-)
Yes, we’re very cultured when it comes to our snacks.
Phew!
Such a nice show ! I was delighted to ear about Necromunda and how you like this game. Me too i can't live without buying everything... except the cargo ridgehauler.... Keep doing such good shows !
Cheers Man.
Glass canopies are way easier to do than most of the paint scheems that Peachy and others try to teach.
The toothpaste story reminds me of many situations I've been in. I live in China and can mostly get about now, but when I first moved over I couldn't speak much. So many times miming things or trying to explain what it is. 'Do you have the thing to clean your teeth? Not the brush, the white stuff' 'Do you have a machine for toasting bread?'
'Do you have a tooth brush for your hair?'
'Do you have the brown/yellow drink with bubbles for parties? Children can't drink it'
Lol. That’s brilliant- Geoff
That's not a good business model.
i love your guys' show.. so amazing!
There were also at least three imperial fist marines recruited from Traizor hive on necromunda (space marine by Ian Watson)
Another awesome video! Absolutely love these !
41:20 Adjusts glasses, I think you'll find it was the Vyper with the first glass canopy.
I love my Deathguard...I love them all...the dozens of maggots, tentacles, boils and the other hundred details. and i painted them all with joy. each one is unique. :)
In my humble opinion coolest 40k army
I
That more Warhammer more often tape on the boxes bugged me. Living in an apartment complex, it's great to know everyone else knows what's in the box.
I still have 2 fishing rods that were my grandfather's, one of them is c.100 years old. I can't think of another wargame though that removes models from their games, historical ones will always remain the same and things like Battletech still use minis from launch. Kings of War still support the stuff they used to have
Very cool. Jammy dodgers are horrific though. The art vs war game stuff is gold.
Also looking forward to the Necromunda league
GW not giving full measurements of that Ridgehauler is not only to show scale, but 100% also so 3d sculptors won't create copies of it 👀
The way you are describing the Ash waste vehicle scenario sounds like "Da Chase" from GorkaMorka. I might need to look into this for an update version of that,
As always a very enjoyable listen/watch gentlemen!
6:00 "Where is this going?"
"nah, it doesn't go there, that's a different story"
Everyone, now, waiting for the story :)
Me too!
You get my like this week for the random accent chat!
“Int it in’t tin?” Standard conversation round these parts
I've always imagined space marines fighting like knights where they would buddy up and work in pairs, the pouches around the armour are actually belong to their partner and are for them to use
Should have watched for 10 seconds more before making this comment :D
🤣
