Perfect, I was was able to retro fit the new fan into the space of the original Broan fan when the house was built with no problems after watching this video.
Thanks for the video! I have watched several videos on installing a Panasonic fan, but this is the first one that actually showed me how! Good job! Easy when you know how! :-)

I have the Panasonic RG-R811A whisper remodel exhaust fan. Does the Panasonic RG-R811A bathroom exhaust fan have a moisture sensor to automatically place it in standby mode when no moisture is present? Also, which switch is recommended, a timer switch or a regular switch, and which make and model of switch for both? Thanks.
I don't think so, but the RG-R911LHA has a built-in humidity sensor, so the switch must be on all the time. I think a better solution is a countdown timer that allows you to leave the fan on for a set period of time after a shower to remove moisture, and after the set time it will automatically turn off the exhaust fan.
Other videos show being screwed into the joist once the hole is recut to proper size. Isn’t that way the bracket fold so you can get it into the cutout ?
By far the best video I’ve found on how to install the fan! Thank you! If it wasn’t for this video I would’ve quit electrical and became Walter white
JOHN G!!! this was the fourth video I wanted on this subject, and the only one that actually showed the proper process. I subscribed! THANK YOU.
Thanks for making that video. It illustrated so much better than the instructions I had.

Hi John, is that the ground not going through the magnetic ring (ferrite magnet)?
Only the white and back go through?
Thank you very much.
What is the question about? The interior wiring is made by the manufacturer.
Can the bracket be used on retrofit with Sheetrock already installed?

No, if old bracket exists but if replacing other kind of fan - yes, sorry
What is the maximum joist width? 16" or 24"
