Thank you for having your channel and showing that there’s so much joy to be had raising tiny creatures. ❤🥹
I’m glad you’ve caught the Sea-Monkey bug too 🥰 I’ve been into this hobby for years and always wondered why it wasn’t more popular. I’m glad these videos are helping to inspire people to try it out :)
I’m so excited I ordered the volcano kit that you recommended and I really hope everything goes well. I’m also buying a a heater Bing water heater and I really hope that it’s gonna work because I can tell that my cat will probably love to watch some incense, sea monkeys and Brian shrimp. Always good to see a video from you, John. You're always very informative and you're the best of the best and I can't wait to see all the experiments and tanks you'll review.
Hey! Loving the channel and have a little question, could even be a video idea? I wanted to get a slightly larger tank and a few people have said to get more starter packs to do so. I’m guessing it’s for the salt level, but can I just add more salt? If so, how much salt to water? Thanks!!
Hey Daniel, starting a DIY tank using your own salt is possible, but the whole process is a little complicated. I will make a tutorial video one day :) if you want to know what kind of salt to use, it’s the same stuff I use in this video here: ua-cam.com/video/gTRl8cu7jlc/v-deo.html
@@pico-cosmos thanks! I showed off my algae after seeing your video this morning and gave your channel a plug. Hopefully this stuff keeps growing well for us all.

Ah that might not work because the algae in a freshwater fish tank may not survive in the salty Sea-Monkey tank. You could always give it a try though!
I've been obsessed with sea monkeys for a while now. However they're hard to come by in the Netherlands, aquadragons seems to be the alternative in Europe. However, I dislike those flimsy tanks... My cats knocked one over easily last year 🥺
@@pico-cosmos worth a shot, thanks for that. I am curious though if there's a microscopic difference between the two, and what happens to the population if you'd combine aqua dragons and sea monkeys in a new tank
I have a question, I live in Florida so it stays warm all year round (and when it does get cold I have a heating mat for the sea monkeys) a few years ago I had 2 sea monkey colonies which were going well for around a year intill sadly I went on vacation and my family over fed them, but ever since then I always have a hard time getting sea monkeys past the 3-4 day mark?
Hmm that’s odd :/ any chance the tanks are getting too hot? I’d try reducing the amount of food you give them on the first few feedings - they need barely anything those first couple weeks
What should I do if there’s only one more seamonkey left😢 I heard that it takes up to 6 months for a seamonkey to hatch and I know that there’s at least 3 eggs left…… I also got a air pump
I have a question. How do sea monkey eggs last so long in a little packet? Is there some sort of expiration date or is there some twist they do to keep the eggs in perfect shape?

I've been obsessed with sea monkeys for a while now. However they're hard to come by in the Netherlands, aquadragons seems to be the alternative in Europe.
However, I dislike those flimsy tanks... My cats knocked one over easily last year 🥺
Perhaps you could try getting them from eBay or Amazon? I believe Sea-Monkeys are stocked in the UK :)
Could be that you’re overfeeding them too early. It’s also possible that there’s not enough oxygen in the tank - are you using an airline?
@@pico-cosmos yes I currently am using an airline but my original 2 colonies never used are pipes
Hmm that’s odd :/ any chance the tanks are getting too hot? I’d try reducing the amount of food you give them on the first few feedings - they need barely anything those first couple weeks
Has anyone seen or bought the treasure chest one? It has a light in it and it looks bigger.
I have it. The Sea-Monkeys kinda get stuck between the tank walls and the treasure chest 🙃
Woah whattt the fudge
What should I do if there’s only one more seamonkey left😢 I heard that it takes up to 6 months for a seamonkey to hatch and I know that there’s at least 3 eggs left…… I also got a air pump
Is your last one a male or female?
Nvm I think it died
I have a question. How do sea monkey eggs last so long in a little packet? Is there some sort of expiration date or is there some twist they do to keep the eggs in perfect shape?
It’s an evolutionary adaptation. If the conditions are really good they can survive in their eggs for over 100 years
I like green
What happens if you breed giant sea monkeys
Lol are you talking about the Monster Sea-Monkeys video?
Shrek sea monkey 😮
😂 that would’ve probably been a better video title
New video!
This makes me wanna own sea monkeys
Have you ever tried raising them before?
How about sea monkeys in a snow globe
Interestingly snow globes were part of the inspiration for the Sea-Monkeys Magic Castle tank! I’m working on that video at the moment :)
@@pico-cosmos OK cool a bit tricky a submerged castle of sorts was the other idea too.
Try blue sea monkeys
With how much systems you hooked up to it by this point you might as well just get a full on aquarium tank.
Lol but the actual Sea-Monkey tanks are way more fun!
The actual crustacean animal with who knows how many legs is way cuter than the mascot representing it. Seriously, those things give me nightmares
Here before one hour 🎉🎉
🙌 thanks for supporting the channel!
was wondering if you could make blue feeding phycocyanin i cant find any info i like your colored brine shrimp series
my sea monkeys keep dying!! idk why!! i’m putting in tap water with table salt and they survive for like 2 days but die!! ugh!! it’s so annoying! please help:((
You need to use distilled water! And packet 1 already contains enough salt for your standard sized seamonkey tank.
@@Jessnyan oh okay! thank you!
Changed channel name?
Yup! Picocosmos means “small universe”. I feel like this name aligns better with my long term view for the channel :) I want to show other species other than Artemia
@@pico-cosmos awesome! Adore your content
Keep up the amazing work ❤️😊
Thank you 🙏😊
Isn’t his old name Artama daddy?
I changed the channel name a couple weeks back :)
Can you tell me is sea monkey alien???
No, Brine Sheimp are found in nature :) Life that did not originate from Earth has never been found, so they’re definitely not aliens 😅
My experience with my sea monkeys was kinda weird because mmt sea monkeys died (all of them) and somehow, they resurrected from the dead.
I meant my butt the autocorrect is really weird. 😅
SCREWS THIS AUTOCORRECT XD
I MEANT BUT
this channel is crazy...
😂 100%
green
my sea monkeys died the first minit
I know that, but I don’t have the money😢
Dear Sea Monkeys company, Please create a tank with a built in heater and thermostat. That would be AWESOME !
afterthought: actually mixing water and electricity for a toy targeted for children might not be a good idea, still it would be awesome if they had heaters in their base. =/
Totally agree! A built in heater would be amazing
Harold: (points to the green Pretty Patty) That thing's green (laughter) Green! (continued laughter)
Patrick: (amused giggle, as Harold continues to laugh)
Spongebob: Mr. Krabs was right! What am I gonna do with all of these? (he says as Harold continues to laugh)

My sea monkey water is super green. It’s good for them, but it looks like kind of ugly.
I love it when the tank gets all green 🥰
@@pico-cosmos they cleared it all so fast now that they’re getting bigger. 2-3 days!
Is it just me or did he change his name
Haha I changed it a few weeks ago :) this new name is more in line with my long-term vision for the channel 👌 content will be staying the same tho
