This was very informational. I don't really like watercolors just cuz i mix up these two processes when I'm actually painting. But you explained this really well. Makes me want to try water colours again.
Haha that happens a lot when you start watercolour . I also used to hv the same issue , but as I gave time to it , I saw improvement. Now watercolour is my favourite ❤. U just need to try and not give up.
i love using wet on wet for under tones and to messily block in large areas of color. this made me rethink how i can use wet on wet to create a soft piece
Thank you so much for explaining! As a young artist all art techniques are hard to learn, so videos like this make it much easier! You earned a new subscriber 😊
THANK you for this. So many watercolor tutorials and tips just break down general art essentials like value and composition. I appreciate the FACTS you give specific to the medium
Do the same exact thing in my digital art! Start with soft edge brushes to get down lightand blended colors, then add harsher edge shadows and colors on a new layer
it was very very helpful but I gotta be honest, it made me wanna bite into this picture. such luscious colors. also I never would’ve thought about ever painting a bell pepper. lovely
I wish I would've seen this yesterday!!! I tried watercolors again (haven't tried since highschool) and it did not go as planned. Luckily I'm decent with acrylics and managed what I could 😂 and the end result didn't end up too bad
honestly, i never wet my paper, i usually just water down the pigment, i know that it'll drip and curl but it's my preferred way of painting with watercolors
Wow my my mind is blown! I have painted some masterpieces with water color and i never new you have to or could add water to the paper. I am a teacher but never been taught. Hmmm.. i probably should learn to paint. Thanks
The only words I have for this is amazing amazing superior and amazing your tutorials are real good I even enjoy them 💜 this channel is like the art kingdoms artists be taking notes I luv painting my self I don't hv a lot of subs but I'm sure I will just like you you r literally my idol ❤
Honestly, I’ve always thought that water painting looks terrible, but I guess I keep getting people that paints terrible. Yours is really cool to look at. I’m more into realistic and comics. Seeing your stuff makes so much better sense. I guess other people just get expensive Daniel Smith and stuff, lay down paint, and call it good no matter what others opinions and critiques are. I thank you for opening my eyes to actual techniques. I think a may try this myself because of you 🙏
You know i have been studying how to use watercolor for the past 6 years and i still find it hard ... It's like the base of all mediums of colours and is the hardest among all of them
I personally love wet on dry,I don't know I just love the way the art looks but im still learning watercolours so Im not that good at that but my favourite medium is watercolour *strange* 🤔😶
There's a tranquility in drawing something and watching it come to life. I drew the Mushroom Crown (from Elden Ring, search it up) and I was confident that my art skills were improving.
Sounds weird but I’ve been wanting to draw peppers and the internet sensed this and suggested this video and that’s how I found your channel. Such a great resource
Wow, I was taught (years ago) once you have image on the paper. Using a wide soft brush and wet the entire sheet. Working vertically and horizontally with the wide brush pushing the water around. Until the paper has soaked up the water and is now suble, and soft, but not dripping wet. Then pull the corners and tack them down again to get the paper as flat as you can. Now can start painting. Then each time I return to paint another section of the painting wet the area and allow the paper to absorb the moister before starting to paint. Do you have a video series for painting? Maybe here on UA-cam? Or maybe a step by step book? I would love to teach myself to paint again. Also any suggestion on brushes would be amazing
Always Air dry your painting after painting it so the Paper won't curl as much. Watercolors are probably the hardest to paint due to so many variables to it. Solid Paint is so much easier to color.
Can you link some watercolor products you prefer to use that arent too expensive? I have palette watercolors, like the dried watercolors. But started an art class for watercolor and using tube paints has SUCH AN AMAZING PIGMENT DIFFERENCE. Teacher said I need an empty watercolor palette case, tube paints, and better water color paper. I'm on a budget. So if you could link tube paints/empty palettes that are good quality but not the most expensive like Winston and newton is.
That was very helpful, thank you! Love watching you paint!
Aww thank you so much!
@@MalleryJane I'm new :)
@@MalleryJane that was a nice capsicum
@@MalleryJanedid you paint it on paper or a canvas

This high key makes me want to try traditional 👀💙
Pretty pepper!
Whenever I used to use watercolors in paper I always used to over lay it and the paper would rip so I never use watercolor

Very helpful!🎉
Now it clicks for me. Tha k you. ❤

Thanks, very understandable
Wet on to wet is for the base layer
Wet on to dry is for details and vibrant look👍🏻
I usually just do both whenever I want
This is so cool
Beautiful.

Too realll😮
That bell pepper be looking good
My worse enemy in wet in wet watercolor painting is PATIENCE 😭
I have very little of it
No "wet" word was hurt in the creation of this video⚠️
