Great video thanks I love this minimal set up. I have used a Sony fs5 2 for work abd I own a black magic pocket cinema camera original. I am really interested in this fx30 as it’s so compact and the battery life seems good compared to black magic cameras. In your opinion which would you go for a Bmpcc 4K or save up a bit more for the Sony FX30? The auto focus looks amazing on this camera too. Thanks again 👍
Hmm that’s honestly a tough call. The battery life, autofocus and updated tech is definitely nice in the FX30. But the bmpcc4k still has an amazing image. If you have the budget, I might go for the fx30 just because it’s much newer tech. But if you still need to build out other things like lights and audio, I’d save the extra for that stuff instead of the camera.
love it! MInimalistic is the way to go...I use my FX30 with Sigma 18-50mmf2.8 with a wrist hand strap...a monopod/Ronin S or just hand held. Nothing extreme-if I need to get ok audio I just add a Sony ECM-B10 and a small Lume Cube Panel GO...simple -I can use it in small spaces. I should get a 11mm f1.8 wide angle maybe..but for now I will use what I have. I use S-cinetone or just a creative profile Standard. I'm not making movies for netflix...no need for Slog for me- I may get the Plastic fantastic XLR handle...maybe...
I’ve been really considering that 18-50. Also, I have the hand strap as well but it got in the way when putting it on a gimbal. Do you have issues with that? Also, if you like to record xlr audio, I can’t recommend the handle enough.
@@darpinomedia9619 I my get the Sony 11mm f1.8 lens one of these days. I don't get many Real Estate gigs...mostly weddings...so the Sigma 18-50mm f 2.8 is a good one. I tried the Sigma MC-11 with my sigma 18-35mm f1.8 (for Canon) and it works but a bit bigger than I prefer..I think I will get the XLR handle one of these days. I will not mount anything too heavy on it. I use mostly S-cinetone for video and It looks fine. Good camera for my needs.
I don't own the Hollyland, but I remeber hearing somewhere that if you turn off the camera before turning off the monitor, it will save. I might have heard wrong, or got it backwards. But seems annoying either way.
Just bought fx30 thank you for give some rig solution idea :)
Of course! How are you liking the fx30 so far?
dope setup !
Thanks 🙏

Does the Hollyland Mars M1 monitor come with the battery?
No unfortunately it does not. But it takes the standard NPF style batteries.

Yea, honestly that the only thing that really annoys me about it. It’s a great monitor though
