WHY SUBSCRIBE TO WHOLESALE TED?
Hey there I am Sarah (aka Ted). My goal is to help new entrepreneurs grow & scale a business that is right for THEM!
Yes - the business that is right for THEM. Because I believe that time is the most valuable thing we have, and that we should spend it doing things that we love: and what I love may be different to what you love. Which is why on this channel I share:
* Examples & case studies of businesses that I enjoy (such as Print On Demand ecommerce businesses) and sharing my tips & strategies I've learned along the way.
* Examples & case studies of other businesses that entrepreneurs love running (even if I personally wouldn't find it fun myself!)
* Plus a sprinkle of entrepreneurial motivation thrown in too!
I hope my actionable content can help you: whether you're running your own online business, or are in the process of building one, and want some tactical advice to help you along the way. If that is you, subscribe today! 🔥 - Навчання та стиль
My New Zealand accent translation for those of you that are new here 🤭
Itsey = Etsy
Riaction = Reaction
Trindy = Trendy
What other ones did I miss? 😜
Turtle = Total 😅 (I had the video in another tab and thought I heard turtle, sorry!🤣)
Git = get
I'm still getting spammed by your fake accounts on IG sort it out
"Sort it out"? I am sorry but I report every single account, and every single time, IG tells me in an automated reply that their automated system has determined the account isn't breaking any rules, that they won't remove it, and that there is no way to appeal the decision. And they even allow those accounts to block me, which stops me from being even able to attempt to report them in the first place. When you say to me, "sort it out" - what can I do? I am greatly upset by those accounts, but I can't control what IG does, I can't control that they allow this to happen, I am sorry, but I honestly don't know what else I can do 🙏
That's your sub-brand 😁
Hey Sarah, I learn a ton from all your videos because they're so research-driven and you show us plenty of proof. I especially got a lot out of this one and working on a couple of "Funny Gifts" right now. I think your enthusiasm, passion, AND your accent are charming and I always enjoy learning from you.
Hi Sarah, I just found your channel and really love your quality content. Thanks for your dedication and valuable insight on marketing products 💯
Great thanks for your videos, just want to leave my 9-6 …
Hope I will be able to make it one day! Awesome ideas!
THANKS FOR THE INFO SARAH!!
Love your work Sarah!
Yes this video DID inspire me, thanks!
Great information, and efficiently done. Your videos are super helpful! Many thanks! :-)
Hi Sarah, thankyou for your videos, love watching them and can't wait for the next. You have inspired me many times. 😊
I have come across another passive income that I am doing with great success, would you be interested in taking a look Sarah?
Excellent video. Excellent. And informative.
Love your videos!
Learning so much from you. Do you have a video on how to customize mugs and tees?
Thanks for another informative video 👍
Hi Sarah, I love your videos. Can you talk about. Customer service, how you handle customers complains? Thank you ❤
Maybe I am wrong, but etsy takes care of these
Thank you for this great information!!!!
I am really love you all videos🎉🎉.
Despite everything being expensive af in Canada, I had no idea that coffee mugs were going for $25-$64 online.🤯
Hi, great video as always! Question: what would you say is the best way to get results as a beginner? Should I focus on just one type of product (mugs, digital downloads etc) or should I do all of them at once and see what sticks?
Great thanks for your sharing this business ❤
Sarah - I love your videos, they help keep me motivated to get my own Etsy store going!
However, I'd love to do the custom mugs / POD option - any chance you could provide some insight into how to do that with the AI program used or how to do that with Printify so I can create the custom order per customer?
Thank you so much!
Cass :)
Suberp information as always!! 😘
Nice one Sarah, I’ve never been able to sell much, I just like listening to your voice. 😊
Haha thank you! I genuinely appreciate that. Sometimes people make fun of me for my lisp so your kind words mean a lot 🙏
@@WholesaleTed It’s the little differences in life that make it worth living.
Awesome!! Thanks again Sarah!! Still waiting for a recent shirt tutorial research niche and design in Canva-maybe kittl…love your tutorial videos!!!!! Miss them!!
Thank you I appreciate that! I got quite a lot of comments saying that people thought I made too many of those, so I do appreciate the support 🙏
@@WholesaleTed well as the saying goes-“that’s not your audience to worry about and if they didn’t like them -as on any social platform they can just “ keep scrolling 😂 I know myself and MANY more LOVE them! You are always making us laugh with your humor and during you give so much valuable information for us newbies and your shirt designs are always on trend!! I’m not sure what they wanted you to do, but as a POD beginner it’s so valuable for someone like you that’s experienced and qualified to show us how to research, niche down, find trends, evergreens and once we do-how to use the products and a fast scaleable workflow. Now that sounds like I know how to do all of that, but I am just getting the jist of how to do so, but I’m still slow and the more videos I can learn from the faster I can get to my goals and I know you sincerely are trying to help us do that with tutorials on how to design with Canva, Kittl, AI, ect and many POD products! So, if nothing else for all us who love you and respect you/your channel listen to our requests and let the other troll on by!!
Hi Sarah. Firstly thank you for your videos and the way you do them, I’ve watched many since I’ve started looking into the pod space and yours are the best by far, the detail you use and the clarity is perfect 🙏
I was wondering about a couple of things if you wouldn’t mind sharing?
When you showed an example of setting up an Etsy shop you set it up in US dollars but you live in New Zealand. What’s the reason for this? does it matter which country you pick? I’m thinking of starting an Etsy shop and don’t want to make a mistake before I even start 😂.
Thanks and keep up the good work 👍
I’ve just tried to sign up using the reduced price offer and it ‘lost connection’ and then sent me through to the full price page 😔
Kia Ora Sarah 👋 when do you suggest listing items that are for certain holidays? For example Christmas 🎄 would you list these products early November?
Hi Sarah, I have many ideas, but believe for a store to work well, I should separate them. Can I open various Etsy stores under the same name? Thanks for your content! Very inspiring :)
Hi Sara,
Thank for your effort to put the video. I would like to start a digital products on Etsy. Any advice? Do I need computer with how much memory? Do I need to have insurance to sell?
Thanks so much for your content!!!😊 Could you give me an advice? If I am interested on creating a etsy Store I could mix prints on demand ( stickers, art, templates) and material things with these prints (mugs, shirts...) like you said in the video?? Would it be profitable?
Hello, I have seen a number of videos on your channel and I liked your content, but I have a question about the content that talks about making money from UA-cam and Shopify ..etc. how much the CPM of this content ?
Hello, do you have a video about 'matching sets' - the process of creating a listing from scratch on Etsy , also with personalization?
Hello Sarah,
Where can we find public domain photos (vintage)? Which site you use to search for them
As always, thank you for your work and information in your videos! By the way, I made my first sale on Etsy (Yay!) but didn't price the product properly and ended up losing money (Boo!). Live and learn, huh? 😀
Congratulations on your first sale! That's what matters. Change your price and keep doing what you are doing. The first few sales are the hardest, once buyers see you have sales, your conversion rate drastically increases, so it's great you have your first sale under your belt 🙏
Hey Sara. Love your work and effort in delivering the right info at the right time.
My question to you is, is there a way to get etsy to work in Jamaica?
Thank you! If Jamaica is not on the list, it would be pretty difficult too, but there are lots of other websites out there you could sell on, such as eBay: ua-cam.com/video/ve7je51GlQQ/v-deo.html
Very informative, Sarah. Sellers could make a UA-cam, or TikTok [both actually] short, with a QR code at the end. One short for each product. Then ask their friends to like and subscribe. Then drill deep into FB etc groups.
Absolutely! Video is an amazing way to promote products 🙏
Thank you 🌞👍
Hi Sarah. 👋 Good job as always girl.💯 Keep up the good work 👍 quick question: what are your two cents on selling ebooks on Amazon Kindle? Is it too late to start? Is the market too saturated already ? What do you think ? 🤔
Thank you and have a wonderful rest of the week!!☺️
Cheers 🙌 -All the way from Pakistan 🙏
Thank you! No idea on Kindle. It's such a huge market, I'm sure there are plenty of untapped niches, just like on Etsy. The key is picking a market that is underserved with options and to provide a new, great option to them.
Hi Sarah, can you say when Jamaica will be allowed to sell on Etsy, as they recently changed their payment methods?
At 6:50.. you talk about the fees, where do I find all that info? Is it in etsy or a special app? Thanks! I'm haven't a hard time trying to figure out the amount to charge for my Tee' etc.
I’ve done designs for a niche and people like them but want their pets on the design (customized) but as I’m not able to afford a secondary shop platform I only using Redbubble and customizing is problematic there.
Does having an account with Printful require a shopfront to have an item printed for yourself? In other words could I do a design on an item on Printful, and just have customer pay me direct and I add shipping details to them and pay Printful myself? I know you need a secondary shop platform for displaying/advertising/external orders.
Hi Sarah,
I have a small problem with fees that prevents me from starting to sell on Etsy, can you explain the digital product listing fees as well as the renewal fees? I'm very confused I can not understand how it works these costs there! Thanks in advance. ✌🏼
If I wanted to open an etsy store, but wanted to do different niches, would it be better to have multiple stores? Or is it better to put it under one store because I could have a higher sales count then.
I have a question about sizes for making pictures on canva, what is the best size to use for tee shirts and other things to be printed on
Thank you for the informative video. And what product you recommend for beginners? (please don't tell t-shirts and mugs 😁)
Haha why not t-shirts & mugs? In particular t-shirts, the market for them in just so much bigger than any other product. That therefore means that untapped subniches have such a high sales potential in it. It used to just be a theory of mine about why t-shirts made me so much more money, until I actually talked directly to Printful & Printify. And yes, their overall merchant numbers reflect my experience too. But really, there is no specific product I'd recommend. It's all about:
1) Pick a product you have a good idea for.
2) Pick an underserved niche or subniche.
Hello, may I respectfully inquire of you, if whether you would share with me, in a video, how to wrap my design completely around a mug , if you have not already done so? I jus’ cannot figure this out. Thank you …
Only youtuber i trust
Hm. Uploaded 5 designs, did a test order with a second account to see what the process would be like for the customer and myself the store owner. I had a print partner selected in the listing and whatnot. The products never shipped. :/ ill have to watch a bunch more videos on automation to find out what box i didnt check
Sarah do you know if they have print on demand scratch and sniff stickers? Or print on demand embossing for shirts and hoodies? I think that could be a very popular upcoming niche if someone did that. Customizing graphics to a scent and embedding embossed logos and letters into a graphic would sell like crazy. Or maybe a sticker that goes from a blank color to a picture when heated up like the label on the candle or coffee mug.
Don't know about the Scratch & Sniff, that's an interesting idea, but for embossing I'm pretty certain that Printed Mint have something available for that. Printed Mint don't list all of their items on Printify, so head on over to their website for their full selection.
@@WholesaleTed Thank you! That was a quick response lol.
Haha, I do try to reply to as many comments as I can. I'm currently a bit less busier than usual, so I've had more time to reply to more comments which is great, especially interesting questions like this one.
@@WholesaleTed Its most appreciated because I understand its free advice that is very valuable. Channels like yours are incredibly valuable because I lost my job and my car and do not have any extra cash to invest into my own business so stuff like affiliate marketing, print on demand, and drop shipping are life savers.
The possibilities of being my own boss and not tied to a building or the stress of traffic or overzealous management are incredible (how dare I ask off for a few days to go to a loved ones funeral).
Thankfully I do have a degree in digital design so I have a heads up and don't have to contract out to fiver. I particularly enjoyed your canva, photopea, and especially your AI videos and am currently practicing with the tools. Now I can make detailed and customized work even faster and react to market trends by myself without a team. I've been doing too much research though (niche trends, growth trends, whats popular - learned that girl stuff sells better than guy stuff and girls out number guys 2 - 1 so I'm learning all about what they like to buy).
I was behind a girl and her mom in a fast food chicken restaurant called Zaxbys here in the States. I watched her scroll on her iphone as she clicked on several clothes, added them to her cart and purchased them WHILE standing in line for food. She bought about $200 dollars worth of outfits and I was like wait what! lol they were surprised I was surprised. I asked them about it and they told me how easy it is.
It blew my mind because as a guy I'm like I just need a few things and I need to go to the store and try them on but she talked about how easy it is to get fits right and how easy it is to exchange and return.
I need to finally pull the trigger and get started but the fear of messing up and losing money I don't have is real. Hopefully when things are better I can purchase a course or something from your site and pay you back for all your free help. I lost my car in a terrible accident (which caused me to lose my job as well), insurance screwed me over and its not like I can just go get a job as I live in a rural area. Literally trapped in my house. So these videos are saving me, allowing me to eat and not be homeless.
I can't thank you enough as most people who offer these videos talk to you only so much before they throw up their paywalls. I'm not mad I get it, it's their business and how they operate.
I'm just excited to be a digital nomad. I would rather be free, working on a laptop at the beach, than sitting in a cubicle stressing out but making 6 or 7 digits. Of this response is long and thank you for reading it. If I could bother you for one last thing. How do you deal with the copy thieves? I noticed as soon as something unique is up several dozen accounts have stolen the idea and made their own version and yours gets pushed down in the rankings and you are no longer making sales? Do you have time to file claims or is there a process I am not aware of? I know these sites are picky and can ban you if make a mistake or get on their nerves and all your branding goes down the drain.
@@WholesaleTed I am looking for dog collars personalizable with metal buckle. I cannot find print provider. Any idea you have?
What about designs based on quotes or lyrics from popular persons or artists? I heard that short phrases can’t be copyrighted
I'm based in Australia and can't find any POD services that are at a price point that you would make a profit from. Do you have any suggestions of POD to look at?
For example, someone online suggests mugs. That they can print on demand and sell at a price point between $10-$15. However at the POD in Australia. They ask that much for the price of the mug and $10 for postage 🤯
Thank you madam
Hi Sarah, thank you for the great video. Can you please tell me how to get the AI photo options in Canva? Mine is not showing any of the options which are showing in your video. Many thanks
If you click on a photo you can then click "edit photo" and you can then use the menu to navigate to the ai filter you'd like to use :)
thank you.
Hi Smiley Sarah, many of these print on demand variations are personalised, so not only automated including buyer proof approval, so they have very low return rates, ( except damages ) right ?
Most Yt sellers make their money affiliate marketing; all the rest, ie YT, insta, etsy, shopify are only vehicles to increase their affiliate shares and clicks. Very few actually make any substantial income from product sales.
Some are personalised but many are not. I am personally someone that would rather earn smaller profits and have a design that can be sold in an automated way, but many of my viewers would prefer the higher margins, and so I am happy to discuss them as an option. You can always automate it with virtual assistants, especially as the profit margins are so high! But yes, usually the return rate is very low, since it is standard to not offer returns for change of mind for personalised products. It would just be returns for faulty items.
@@WholesaleTed Very surprised you dont sell something in your videos Smiley Sarah T shirts...lol, guess you don't need to 😜
How do you do to see the total sales of each store to investigate??
Would these niches work just as well on Shopify?

Hello. I have an LLC and an EIN# as a foreigner, but I have noticed that I cannot list my products on marketplaces like Etsy, for example, as they detect that I am in a country that is not accepted, despite having an LLC. They detect it based on the IP, and I have had to contact support to explain my situation. However, my account is still temporarily suspended. How can I sell on marketplaces? Would using a VPN be risky? Best regards and best of luck!
I wouldn't sell on Etsy if my country wasn't allowed, it's too risky to put a lot of work in only to get it shut down. If someone is ineligible to sell on Etsy, and would like a free ecommerce website to sell on, I always recommend eBay 🌞 it's available in lots of countries worldwide, and you can sell POD & digital products on there too: ua-cam.com/video/l_zQ56Cu6qI/v-deo.html

@WholesaleTed is Etsy sponsored this video or are do you have a sponsore deal with etsy?
No, if I did have a sponsored video I would do the right, ethical thing by disclosing it. I have only ever been sponsored once, and that was by Audible. And when I was sponsored, I very clearly disclosed it 🙏

Do you have a video abouthow to sell in the US when living outside of the US. Gelato wont work with me unless i have a reseller certificate.
If Gelato won't do that, then I'd just use anyone else. With Printify & Printful they don't require a resellers certificate, unless you want to save some extra money on taxes. That way you can get started, and only once you start getting regular sales then go through the hassle of getting a resellers certificate.
@@WholesaleTed Have you set up a US company or can you sell in the US as a New Zealand company?
I do it all as a New Zealand company, no need to have a US company
What sites can you use to start out print on demand if you don't have any money to put up front? As in you don't have the money to cover the initial cost of whatever the product is that they buy, until you get reimbursed.. are there any platforms that actually cover all of the cost where you don't have to have a little bit setback? I don't have any money to actually invest in starting a print on demand business, That's the only part holding me back now. Any info would be greatly greatly appreciated.
If possible you can try to earn your “startup capital” in another way, such as doing a few other odd jobs on the side (maybe food delivery, mowing lawns, pet sitting, etc) until you have enough to cover your initial expenses.
TeePublic, RedBubble, & Zazzle are three great POD sites that don't require any up-front costs. I actually prefer them to the "integrate Printful on Etsy" method in this video, which is extremely misleading because 80-90% of the "profits" being shown in the video go to Printful to fulfill the orders. The actual artists/shop owners are taking home about 10% of what this video claims.
You'll want to focus on websites that pay art commissions, instead of letting you open your own store. For example:
* Amazon Merch
* RedBubble
* Teepublic
Also Carl, that is not true. I get a lot of people who will comment on my videos saying "but 80-90% goes towards Etsy/Printify/Printful" etc. That is why I did profit calculations throughout the video. I didn't do it for all of the products, but if you did, you'd see that all of them have at least a 30%+ margin, usually much higher 6:43 10:44
I'd also like to point out, an average business gets a 10% profit. Even if 80-90%% did go towards these expenses, and you kept 10-20% profits, that would still be an above average profit margin. I have seen online that a lot of people have unrealistic ideas about what profit margins should be, and talk about a 10-20% profit margin being low, rather than being good🙏
@@WholesaleTed Considering you're marketing paid courses, it does feel misleading when the title says "make $25K per month!" when the post-tax net is likely less than a third. I do really like your channel overall though & actually quit my career as a teacher last to do POD full-time!
Should you create an Etsy shop for every niche you want to sell for?
I don't want to make 25k/month, Iwould be happy with 5k/month at the moment working Monday to Thursday
I love that attitude. I think it's much healthier to work less, but earn a good income, rather than work ourselves to death to chase the most money possible!
Are these guys buying ads? How are they getting views? My shop isn’t moving at all.
Hello, do you know if it is better and I tell my sister to create a digital invitations store on etsy, she lives in Germany so that I can manage it since I know how to design and she can help me with customer service so I would say that we are the 2 who manage it Or I could create it myself asking for her information, only I don't know if this shop is seen as fake by my IP, I already have a shop that sells cliparts that were not deleted from Ecuador, I just made it before the etsy closure began in South America and I don't want to be closed if I do wrong by being with another store from another country, any advice thanks in advance regards
No you can both work in the same store! If you are worried about triggering IPs, get her to set up the store and add you to the store through the Shop Roles. And be sure to disclose on your Etsy storefront that there are two of you working in the store.
@@WholesaleTed thanks gracias greeting from Ecuador ;)
Sarah plz 🙏 make a full Tutorial of how to make account on etsy ..
Because I create a account many time but my all account are suspended .
Plz Sarah help me .
Have you tried appealing the suspension? Etsy suspends 90%+ of new accounts as a precautionary measure, and if you just appeal it, it's overturned 90% of the time. They do it because a lot of scam accounts are made. Suspending them is a way to check to see who is legitimate & will appeal, and who is a scammer and will not appeal it. I have a full tutorial on setting up an Etsy store here: ua-cam.com/video/7ZlZFPBWC74/v-deo.html

Hi Sara, I love your videos but either you’ve skipped over something or i missed it. I get you can create print on demand items like TShirts but where exactly do you sell them? Is it just Etsy? If so doesn’t Etsy take a huge chunk of your profit from the sale minus cost price from printify etc?
I actually would always recommend people do what I do: build their own brand off-site with a platform like Shopify, not just put all their eggs into the Etsy basket. However, the profit margin thing is just not true, I address it in this video if you watch the whole video through. I show the profit margins for products on Etsy are actually pretty high by putting products into the profit calculator to show that the idea that Etsy takes all of your profit is just not true: 6:43 10:44 Please keep in mind, the average profit a business makes is 10% per year. People have strangely unrealistic ideas that profit margins should be 50%+ when that's just not normal for a business. Getting these sorts of profit margins on Etsy, on the scale of businesses in-general, is very good.
@@WholesaleTed Thanks for the reply, I went back through your older videos and there was one that explained this thanks. I can now stop spending time on Printify trying to find the magic submit to shop button!
"How can I upload images onto backgrounds like wall paintings?" Mockups
Printify have their own mockups you can use, and so do Placeit. The Placeit free account is amazing. You can upgrade to their paid plan later, if you decide you want even more photos: wholesaleted.com/go/placeit
Well Sarah will you please share me the best way , the best way to make money with medium effort?
What does "medium effort" mean? That's an honest question, I am not quite sure what that means. Does it mean that it doesn't take up too much time? Does it mean that you can automate processes? 🙏
@@WholesaleTedYes in less time and automate it
For automated businesses, they usually don't start out automated and they're usually high-effort for the first years of your business. However, they can become automated in-time because you work hard to post content (such as products/videos etc) that then gets seen by traffic algorithms: whether that is Etsy, Google, UA-cam, TikTok etc. I would recommend picking a side hustle that utilizes traffic from algorithms. That's how I've been able to largely automate my streams of income: ua-cam.com/video/jCqIGxA5S-k/v-deo.html
I'm still trying to get my first sale on ETsy
I recently started a new store with no external marketing & am already making money in it. The key is in your niche research. Pick an underserved niche/subniche that you can make better products in, than what is already available 🌞
How are you getting those Etsy seller’s sales info?
Alura - wholesaleted.com/go/alura
Although you can just estimate it yourself for free based off of reviews 🙏
Remember that Alura is just giving revenue figures and not how much the seller is making, in the normal usage of the word "make" anyway. If a car dealer sells a car for $20,000 then the revenue might well be $20,000 but they certainly don't make that much because they don't get the car for free themselves. You need to be aware that Sara tends to use the word "make" (as in the title of the video) to mean total selling price (revenue) and not how much can be earned, which is always a lot less. I expect she drives her accountant crazy.
I just wanted to be found like in the Amazing Grace 😂😂
i love you ❤😘😘

@WholesaleTed_1
Hi! Doe someone wants to become my accountability partner and I'll be theirs? You don't have to know it all, you don't need to be a pro. I know I am not. Just someone who really wants to make a plan and stick to it. Learn, adjust and get results. Motivated each other and give updates and talk about the problem we are facing?
I would love that!!
@@gwenjunge3689 do you have an IG account? We could link up there if you want
Any one earned?
Loved this video ❤❤❤ although a bit misleading. Most people don’t make $2000 a month on Etsy.
Too bad that Etsy hides some of the paid listings they're charging sellers money for. Maybe a multibillion-dollar class-action lawsuit would make them change their ways. Lots of people on social media are talking about this problem right now of etsy hiding their items and that's the reason why they're experiencing low to no sales, and sporadic spurts in sales that seem to come out of nowhere.
After seeing how many good honest people had their stores shut down in a heartbeat without a specific explanation, and their cherry-picking fickle ways, there's not enough money in the world that Etsy will get my business!!!
make me one and half of the income is yours :)
😂😂😂
I prefer to avoid selling via Etsy.
That's fair! You don't have to sell via Etsy. I'd always recommend not putting all your eggs in a third-party marketplace basket, and focus on building your own off-site website & brand as well, regardless: ua-cam.com/video/3SigfkatIuk/v-deo.html
What on earth are these people doing to sell stuff on Etsy? I’ve been on Etsy for over a year and I’ve sold one thing. Also Etsy is so obnoxious to work with… really a horrible company.
