    To answer the question straightforwardly, the King James Version is the nearest to the original Hebrew and Greek.
    If you have trouble with reading though, keep a Tanach and a Greek expository handy and read a something you find easier to understand. Though never go for a paraphrased translation.
    I would suggest you ask Jesus to help you with reading. He'll do it.
    Then read the KJV.

    Please keep me in your prayers. Thanksgiving is going to be hard this year. I’m struggling. Facing eviction. It’s only because of the kindness of strangers we still have our home. I’m a single mother with two autistic children. I was fired from my job of 13 years for not getting the vaccine I refused it because of my pre existing health conditions. I have lupus I’m in pain and take so many medications. I don’t know how I’m going to support my children. But I know God will provide. My own family has turned against me over my decision. I feel so alone. Please pray for my family

    Thus, the Holy Bible of which Jehovah God is the one Author was completed by means of his witnesses, even as it had been begun by means of them. Consequently, with no room allowed for Scriptural contradiction, it may be said that The Holy Bible is the Book by Jehovah's witnesses. As Revelation 19:6 exclaims. "Hallelujah!"
    And they are free.

    He didn't actually answer the question asked but the KJV is nearest to the original translation. Some, for example, like the NIV left out Jesus name many many times. Some version versions are "thought for thought". Meaning the translation was made by the translator reading the passage and translated it by what he "thought" it meant. Now consider this. We all know that we can read a passage in the KJV and it can mean one thing for one person and can be interpreted/perceived differently by another. So you see how this way of translating scripture can definitely be wrong? What if I read scripture and said "okay here's what it means" and that's that. But I could be wrong, correct? With this said. The nearest and most accurate translation is the KJV. The language used does seem confusing to many but if you are prayerful and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the meaning and truth to you you can best believe He will do just that. He may not do it right then but you can best believe that at some point you'll be reading and it's like it clicks and like a computer but quicker, info is downloaded. The Holy Spirit will drop that info within you and you'll have complete understanding. Ohhhh that feeling when you have those "Ah ha!" Moments as I call them!! It feels so good! But back to the original question. The KJV was translated by scholars who knew Greek, Hebrew and Latin and I believe another language that I can't recall. I want to say old Latin. Anywho, they meticulously translated it "word for word" from the original scrolls. Therefore it comes across worded strangely. Like when it says "God is a terrible God!" It doesn't mean he's mean as how we use the wording today. You can't take that one line out of context. God is a Mighty God, Almighty! Hope this helps answer anyone's question. But do use KJV but it doesn't hurt to cross reference with the Strong's concordance. "Study to show yourself approved". Be blessed

      What do you feel about the “New King James Version?

    • @amclamb9543
      @amclamb9543 2 роки тому

      @@glittersilver7779 I suggest the KJV but it's okay to cross reference with the NKJV if you're having difficulty. But ALWAYS pray and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to you. God's Word says he will reveal ALL truth to you and you need no man to teach you. (When it comes to God's Word). Teachings when it comes to theology and indepth look at the background life, connections etc is different. I've learned much from my pastor when it comes to breaking things down when you're talking about where Jesus was born, who he was born too, their lives, who was who. Lots of connections and such. But when it comes to God's Word itself. The Holy Spirit is there to teach you. But when you allow the Holy Spirit to teach you, you also will know when you're being told something that's not jiving. Even if you're not quite understanding why but red flags or an uneasy feeling will come in and you'll know that something even a pastor will say will feel "wrong". Then you seek the Lord in prayer to find out what the truth really is. Always go back to the Lord for the truth in ALL. Ask the Lord for the gift of discernment and other gifts. He will give liberally if you ask for it humbly and with good intentions. (Like asking for wisdom and knowledge) I know I went much further than you asked. But I felt led to do so. Be blessed

    For English speaking Christians, this question of "what Bible translation is closest to the original" is one of the most important questions one can ask as a believer who wants to read and study the best English translation of Scripture which will, of course, nourish and strengthen one's faith and will also have you to be better enable to share the gospel that Jesus is indeed risen as well as giving one the ability to better answer questions about some of the more difficult to be understood doctrines and teachings and especially for the new Christian who will inevitably come up with some questions about the different contradictions in Scripture that I have come to accept over my forty plus years of being born again that are some of the best "teachers" there are in Scripture. For me, it's like God is saying that he is not going to be there in person to stand over our shoulder and instruct us on every contradiction or nuance we come across in his written

    Speaking of the different English Bible translations; in brief form, I have a perspective that has resulted in having a new Bible doctrine for these last of the last days that has a lot to do with some modern-day “scholars” who have taken it upon themselves to “correct the spelling” in our English Scripture, specifically the King James Version Bible (JKV)? It has been evolving in my mind since 1979 during my first and only semester at a Bible College that was initiated by my Bible Studies Professor when he engaged me, for reasons still unknown, on a question he had concerning a nuance he perceived in Genesis 1:1. The crux of the conversation resulted in his new doctrinal hypothesis which is entirely based upon the premise which I consider to be fact, that the word “earth” in English biblical Scripture is a homonym which my professor would neither confirm nor deny, that sometimes refers to the word “earth” as referring to the planet earth which is usually the case, as is found in Luke 18:8 and other times the word “earth” is referring to the “universe”, as in the following Scriptures: Genesis 1:1, 2:1, Job 1:7, Isaiah 40:22, 66:1, Matthew 6:10, Mark 13:27, 2 Peter 3:13, Revelation 12:9. When one combines this new perspective with all Scripture in toto one comes away with the answers to a lot of heretofore unanswered questions such as - “what is the universe expanding into?” - with the answer being the firmament, with this finite firmament totally encapsulating the entire “earth as in the universe” which finite aspect has rather profound ramifications (Isaiah 65:17, Revelation 12:1) since beyond the firmament there is the infinite kingdom of heaven (singular- Genesis 1:1) which is made up of or contains what science calls “anti-matter”, whereas our “earth/universe” contains matter, if you get my drift? Then there is also the answer to the extraterritorial or ET question (Genesis 2:1, Revelation 12:9). Also, there is the clarity of exactly how it is that we have a 1, 2, and 3heaven, along with a whole lot of other clarity of doctrine and theology. However, if these modern-day “scholars” have their way and are allowed to “correct the spelling” in various verses of Scripture in the KJV my entire hypothesis is totally negated. For instance, these “scholars" have changed the spelling in the corrupted versions of the Bible in Genesis 1:1 where the word “heaven”, singular, which means the kingdom of heaven and there is only one kingdom of heaven, to “heavens”, plural so that their limited understanding can be placated so as explain how it is that in other passages of Scripture the word “heavens” plural, is indeed accurate. Then there is Matthew 6:10 where these “scholars” change the spelling from “in” before the word earth, to “on” before the word earth which again, negates my entire hypothesis as well as drastically altering Scripture with the deeper understanding coming from realizing that the word “in” in this verse of Scripture is used as an adjective in order modify and or describe the word earth to mean the universe which is also the case in Revelation 12:9 where the word “into” is also used as an adjective in order to modify and or describe the word earth to mean the universe. I have to stop here because of length and my apologies the 700 Club.
