Yeah that old Sparton has a ton of torque; it tends to dance around a bit on the blacktop if left unattended or weighed down. I still need to find out how to open the back up on that thing as there's no hardware that holds the motor in place or in a shell like the Federals I own, or in a sleeve like an old Darley I recently got.
Yeah, the bearings aren’t the happiest on that siren. Probably due to the fact that there aren’t any wicks under the oil sumps. I still need to figure that thing out!
I don’t own a Model 28, and honestly I’m not sure I ever will. I’m more into the industrial sirens, but I do own a Model 76; still need to get a battery for it…
