- well like i said before i let it rip, the other Q is long gone and I know have a Q2B. Found it on marketplace around December and hoped that it worked as the guy said it made a heck of a noise. well there was a reason for that. The damn stator had a dent in it and the chopper damn near seized up on it. So after careful hammering on it, i managed the get the chopper to spin freely. Anyways again like stated in video, self distancing Q2B siren blast.
i’m a firefighter, and i love this sound
My favorite siren tbh
My favorite siren
This sound has an adrenaline effect on me. I was a firefighter, and I can still relate to it, even though hearing it now still produces it in me.
It’s not a fire truck unless it’s got a Q Siren
The station I work for, our Engine 1 doesn’t have a Q lol… still a pretty truck tho
Not really
B&M:
Also some ambulances have a Q siren not just fire trucks, back in the 50s-70s the police used to have them the New York City Police Department had either a Federal Model 28 or a Q siren on one of the ESS units when it responded to the WTC on 9/11, so all first responders had it before the modern day which is today’s society

Legend says: if you're a firefighter or former firefighter, this sound produces significant amounts of adrenaline in you.
Man I really want a few of those. Great video tho!
Imagine setting one off In your neighborhood
Same here
Mech sirens came along before electronic ones, yet here we are STILL using them on our fire vehicles. 🚨
Too loud for Sheriff but not too loud for red
I just acquired one of these Q2B's recently. I got it from Minnesota. It was a special gift from a relative. He is a volunteer firefighter. Northern Minnesota.
this is what i hear when i wake up on a monday
LA County FD still uses that…well, their engines make that exact sound anyway.
It's been almost two weeks and I don't have my crank siren
Oof
@@Futurejcpl_lineman115 update lol: got it, but it sucked. So I got another one from Amazon, works WAY better. Also I was like 12 here

If it explodes can I keep the remains?
Why in the hell would it explode?
@@onefastslimjimif it surges
There was an unknown siren in Seaside, Oregon that the chopper exploded. So I can see why a Q has the possibility to do the same
@@Vacuum_And_Siren_Expert that was a CAM Model 17, if I recall
Greetings :)
I'm planning to start a project for a collection of warning sirens around the world by asking permission & giving credits for the original respective owners when using their videos.
May i get your permission ? :)
Are you making a third one? If so, I can let you use my video of a prototype T-128. It’s a distance test tho
@@bornundersaturnz Maybe soon or maybe later if the condition is ideal enough for me X)
Thanks for the generosity 👍
Your request is noted and you'll be notified in the future once i plan to use your video/s 😁

Scored one of these when i worked in a metal processing yard. Paid 25 cents/LB for it lol the brake doesnt seem to work, no continuity in its solenoid. Im thinking ill use it as a shop burglar alarm some day.
Is it an AC Voltage siren?
No, 12 volts DC
@@amtrak3501 ok. Do you know where there are cheap ones on the internet?
Cute siren
Is this siren use for tanker fire trucks?
Yes
All fire trucks
Indiana wants me,
Love I can't go back there.
Im geting a federal signal model j soon😄😄😄😄😄🤣🤣🤣🤣
How many volts do these operate on? I’m assuming they run on 120VAC
12 or 24 volts I'm assuming, it's meant for vehicle use, mostly on fire trucks.
Why don’t you buy a new cord for the brake

Awesome!
fire trucks use these sirens. these kinds of sirens have 12 port. the same as the STH-10.
What volts runs in?
12V just ran it off car battery
