- Part of homemaking is providing good foods for ourselves and our families. The traditional Italian diet has been touted as one of the healthiest in the world and here we'll explore some common ingredients of Italian cuisine that are easy to work into your diet to reap the health benefits. I show a unique way to use basil as well as showcasing some of the ingredients to make a deliciously easy, nutrient dense salad for a simple lunch or side dish
I accessed a number of studies to present the information here, though I am not a health professional and encourage you to do your own research :)

Lisa, pretty, pretty please ❤
I agree
Thank you so much! Hubby had colon cancer almost 5 yrs ago. I told him we are getting a coffee machine and he is going to start drinking! I had to keep pausing to get the ingredients written down for that delicious salad at the end, but I just know it was worth it.
My last batch of garlic from Costco came from Argentina, good enough, but lots of small cloves. I used my silicone plastic tube to peel them but still struggled.
I freeze the peeled cloves as well as roast a couple of whole bulbs for the freezer as well
Oh dear! Somehow I wish I hadn't seen this video, Lisa. I'm hungry and craving now for some of that delicious looking fish. 😢😂 God bless the work of your hands!

Thank you Lisa! Soo educational, entertaining and fulfilling! Fantastico!! :O)
Olive oil is a great dip/spread for bread, too. My two favorite are 1:1 olive oil and apple cider vinegar (with the "mother"), and olive oil with za'tar.
You can toast an English muffin/toaster biscuit and dip in the mixture, drizzle it on top, or I'll put some in a shallow dish and lay the toasted muffin face down in it for even coverage.
nice ! I Love that cheese so much ! We use it on so many things.
God bless you, for this valuable video, with great information.
Thanks for sharing.
🥰🙏💫🌺🌸👍❤️✨✝️🌟
Everything I absolutely love and grew up with. I’m a Nonna and my granddaughter wants skin like mine🤣 I even use basil essential oil on my face - diluted with apricot oil. Thank you, Lisa for sharing our Italian heritage secrets❤
What a great video. I did not know alot of what you talked about today. I greatly appreciate your videos. Thank you for the time you take to make them. You are very sweet and beautiful. Your videos are a pleasure and relaxing to watch. God Bless you!
Hi Lisa. It was so interesting to hear you speak 🗣️ of the health benifits of Coffee. I make a Keto sweetened allowed, coffee latte daily, in the Vitamix machine.
After you posted that Delish Tiramisu recipe, for me, I found a Tiramisu Coffee Latte recipe online. Wowzo! Yummy 😋 sounding!
I also found a Keto recipe to make Keto allowed Lady Fingers, from scratch. Smile. 😊 Thank you for this healthy foods info. Cali Lady.
Thank you 🙏
Very interesting. My maternal grandparents were Italian and came to the USA. I'm growing three cherry tomato plants this year, which I never do. Could you do a video about canning or freezing tomatoes for the winter? I don't know whether that would have wide appeal, though. I love southern Italian food with the tomatoes, and probably the Americanized versions of them. My relatives were all southern Italian except for Tony, who had married an aunt. He was always referred to as TonyHe'sNorthernItalian at family gatherings.
Wow, so many delicious ideas here, Lisa.
Fish, garlic, basil, olive oil, coffee, tomato, and cheese.
My diet certainly consists of most of these, so I guess I'm good to go.
Am absolutely loving these videos and look forward to the next one.
P.S. My face brightened at 8:25 when I saw the mutti passata. We use it all the time! 😊❤💐
So knowledgeable, and yes, beautifull, well spoken! I so enjoy your sight. I have many italian influences and great foods! Love love it!!! And try much of it. Wow
I think I need to get a larger bottle of Olive Oil next time. Living here in Nova Scotia, land of fish and lobster, I'm spoiled. I think I need to start growing some herbs too. I have a ton of dry but like you said, fresh is so much better.😊
Excellent vido Lisa... spot on in every way regarding the importance of each one of these ingredients. Good job!
Thanks so much!
Love your Italian heritage. Love your healthy food recipes.
Call Lisa another beautiful video that contains a wealth of information. Thank you so much for making us aware of things that we should research and that will help us. God bless.
Thank you so much, Tracy 😊❤️

Oh my goodness, Yes for tomato sandwiches! We're having a bit of a heat wave right now so nice fresh meals are fitting the bill :)

Lisa! Thank you for this fabulous video! One of your best!!! So informative and comprehensive; you taught me a few things too! 'Never realized I should add my fresh basil at the end of cooking my Sunday tomato sauce! SEI BRAVISSIMA!!!!! COMPLIMENTI!! Saluti da NY! S.gra D
Wonderful video. Your enthusiasm is contagious ❤
You are so kind
Great ideas thank you. Do you have a recommendation for a good pure olive oil? There are so many on the shelves that maybe not authentic pure cold press. Just wondering what your thoughts are.
anything that says extra virgin in a dark glass bottle should be a decent quality product....I know that Berio is one to potentially avoid since it's blended with different oils
♥♥♥
What is a true good olive oil?
A good thing to look for is something that says extra virgin in a dark glass bottle …some brands like Berio are a blend with other lesser quality oils and say something to the effect of “light taste” oil
I'd like to know what brand of olive oil you use.
Most of the time I use Gallo but as long as the bottle says extra virgin olive oil and it's in a dark glass bottle, it should be a decent quality product. Some olive oils say "light tasting" in a clear plastic container and those ones are usually blends with lesser quality oils :)
Hi Lisa! What are you adding to your espresso at 6:44 and do you use sugar in it? 😊
I frothed up a bit of milk to make a cappuccino...most of the time I don't add sugar but many people living in Italy do :)
