Yes, indeed - this Mince Pie is superb! DCDR is railway like a amazing railway must be… The beautiful lined B-Class sounds nice, too! Is #39 the very last survivor of the A-Class? I read somewhere she´s got as the same aggregate as “BoCo”? Greetings to Eire from Berlin(Ost)! I love old diesels most, too.

Thanks Tina! I love these old 1950s and 1960s locomotives. The A-class (A39) was built by Metropolitan Vickers, with A39 entering service in 1955. they had Crossley engines, the same as the British Rail Co-Bos, and they were a disaster! Irish Rail had the good sense to re-engine them with General Motors power units in the late 1960s, making them very reliable locomotives.
Another A class, A3r is also preserved, but not in running condition. Two other B class, 141 and 142 are preserved as well, only 142 is running (shunting at Whitehead).
      Glad you enjoy these videos!

Not sure, Thomas. I'm hoping for another diesel gala this year, but most days will be steam, for the public trains anyway.

why did it seem like the head lamps were orange on both locos? is it the color of the bulb or are they just on a dim setting? brilliant video!

Thanks! Sometimes they are on dim, and look orangey. Other times it could be me or my camera. :)

Sounds a little bit like a Maybach. In some ways, it's a shame there are different gauges in NI and the mainland. It would be nice to have this for an East Lancs diesel gala! Interestingly, they have got a re-gauged NI thumper. I'm not sure what the plan is there!

I think they got it for parts! The thumper I mean. We like the gauge difference, it keeps you narrow gauge people from stealing our stock. :)

That's a point. I can imagine a few lines wanting to buy some of these.
