I have a 2006 2.9 auto, the starter started running while it was parked and turned off. What are the common electric weaknesses to look ou for on the engine?

In your case, you will replace the starter. Otherwise, there is a frequent defect in the alternator from the electrical installation. Or on the wiring at the control unit under the driver's seat. Then maybe a motor for switching 4x4. There are no other electrical faults.
