I think the reason people "hate" her stuff is because they've never listened to anything quite like it before, and no matter how much we like to deny it, the unfamiliar catches us by surprise. But that's part of her charm! She's so surprising. Her music is unique and definitely not redundant. I love Regina Spektor. Sh is an amazing artist who takes aspects from everything in life and makes it her own.
is there anyone better than regina?? I seriously doubt it...shes amazing and has so many songs...i discover a new one every day including this one which is the first time ive heard it and i already love it ! :)
I cant believe i've heard nearly all her songs and I can't find one song that I like....I just love them all!!! I think i can honestly say that I am in love with Regina! and it's not because I'm supposed to either...
Perfectly put. One of the best ways to explain why you like a Regina song is to say that you can't find the words to explain why you like a Regina song. I was watching Fidelity & then Machine just now. On both, people were saying how they didn't like the songs at first and now they love or are obsessed with the songs. I hear that so much about her. From hate to obsessed. I don't think I've ever seen a musician do that to people before. She's quite the conundrum. :) & I love every second of it.
I love this song. . . Regina Spektor is so inspiring. She does music because she loves music. She doesn't do it to get attention. This is so unlike many of today's stars.
i love the part where she says Why am I supposed to love if I don't want to? I don't want I don't want to not too sure why. but this song is awesome, which is to be expected since it's regina :).
there are no words to describe this song there should be an expression which means "the mixture of beautiful, moving, genious and unbelievable but still so... human" that expression would describe most of her songs and Regina Spektor herself
i think i love Regina so much, because her music brings out the good in people. How can anyone bother fighting or being angry, while listening to something this brilliant
funny, i had the exact opposite. when i heard that line, it made perfect sense. but i've been listening to regina for a while. everything she says makes sense to me.
"Time is all around, except inside my clock." Quite the contrary, actually. Time is almost literally nowhere, except inside the clock. But still... YOU CAN'T HELP BUT LOVE THIS SONG!
I was replying to AnthonyMinsky's comment. And there are some people who don't like her; you can find the obnoxious ones lurking about the comments on her songs, disrupting the peace. Personally, I adore her and find her to be one of the most creative artists of our time.
@mikson0098 the grammys doesnt deserve such sublime music jonny craig is another beautiful vocalist who is unrecognized regina has vocal wings. but, no the world can only see what is up front not what calls
i'd like to know that as well. she needs to record and release a six disk box set called "everything else :)" with the smile ... I JUST WANT EVERYTHING SHE'S EVER SANG!
@Crusader38 ;; Regina makes it a point to make her songs completely different than every other one that she's ever written, and I highly doubt that anyone else could create something this beautiful.
@FamiliaCara Yep. It's just like you say. So many say stuff like 'I used to not like her, or not like this song or that song of hers, but now I love her or this whatever song'. I know it's kind of a normal thing for certain music or certain songs to grow on you. But I've never seen it go from sometimes hate to sometimes obsession with people as much as with Regina. She is, as you say, THAT much of a surprise. Isn't it great to watch it all happen? :)
i wish her record label would stop trolling youtube and disabling videos that were actually beneficial to her career-- I used to have some songs in my favorites section ( Another town for one) and they've been taken off youtube for copyright infringement grrr the videos don't prevent someone from buying her stuff, they supplement the CDs/ MP3s they don't supplant them!
for some reason this reminds me of an old-fashioned neighborhood in New England ... weird connection I know, maybe it's the styling of the piano, kinda' makes me think of Charlie Brown ... IDK, it's weird the images that get conjured when listening to Regina.
this is fantastic! where did u find this demo? i like this version a lot better than the album arrangement. The piano sounds awesome in this version. LOVE IT!
@mikson0098 Exactly! If you don't give her at least a nomination, at least invite her for some shrimp and a glass of wine. The Grammy's can suck my shammy!!
Well I just started studying relativity... But isn't space and time a bit the same concept? I mean time just defines where a movement is at a given moment while moving trough space.. Anyways it looked evident on the models ahah.
Actually, some people believe that the fourth dimension is time, while there is also the fourth dimension of space, which is kinda like in and out... to put it VERY simply. But I think of time as just a unit of measurement, calculating and noticing the movements of everything in the universe, from the moon, to the sun, to the stars, etc,
@mikson0098 The grammys are really not about talent anymore. I'm sure if Regina Spektor wanted a Grammy she would call up Timbaland and get herself a Grammy but I don't think thats what shes about.
@mikson0098 they only invite shit to those awards, and i think we'd all feel offended if regina had to walk the same carpet as rhianna and justin bieber. besides she doesn't need awards to prove she's a good singer. she's better off without them x
Leaves become most beautiful when there about to die -- that quote just inspires me and gives me hope
Regina Spektor's music speaks to my soul.
is there anyone better than regina?? I seriously doubt it...shes amazing and has so many songs...i discover a new one every day including this one which is the first time ive heard it and i already love it ! :)
I cant believe i've heard nearly all her songs and I can't find one song that I like....I just love them all!!! I think i can honestly say that I am in love with Regina! and it's not because I'm supposed to either...

i love the part where she says
Why am I supposed to love if I don't want to?
I don't want
I don't want to
not too sure why. but this song is awesome, which is to be expected since it's regina :).
there are no words to describe this song

i think i love Regina so much, because her music brings out the good in people. How can anyone bother fighting or being angry, while listening to something this brilliant
this reminds me of late afternoon, when everything is golden and sparkling and soft
Wow. Same goes for me. Regina Spektor and Bright Eyes are the only artists whose CDs I can listen to all the way through and love every song.
funny, i had the exact opposite.
when i heard that line, it made perfect sense.
but i've been listening to regina for a while.
everything she says makes sense to me.
I totally agree. also her writing.....her lyrics are amazing. Btw she's coming out with a new cd in july...can't wait.
This. Song. Is. Flawless.
she is so beautiful, both in voice and person! just thought i'd add that
"Time is all around, except inside my clock." Quite the contrary, actually. Time is almost literally nowhere, except inside the clock. But still... YOU CAN'T HELP BUT LOVE THIS SONG!
Time shows itself within life and change. What life however is inside a clock?! A clock does not change, it stays the same every day and year.
Thumbs for loving Regina unconditionally.
Leaves become most beautiful
when they're about to die
her lyrics are so gorgeous
I was replying to AnthonyMinsky's comment. And there are some people who don't like her; you can find the obnoxious ones lurking about the comments on her songs, disrupting the peace. Personally, I adore her and find her to be one of the most creative artists of our time.
LOVE YOU REGINA!!!
I love this picture of her.
she was soooo perfect on the late letterman show.
MY GOD I CANNOT STOP LOOKING AT THIS PIC!!!
my two favorite things..piano and regina's voice
@mikson0098 the grammys doesnt deserve such sublime music
jonny craig is another beautiful vocalist who is unrecognized
regina has vocal wings.
but, no the world can only see what is up front not what calls
I think this is my favorite song of Reginas. It was very, VERY hard to choose but I think this is the one.
Love this song! Both this version and the version from Far! :)
I saw her tonight! I completely agree. Epic
i'd like to know that as well. she needs to record and release a six disk box set called "everything else :)" with the smile ... I JUST WANT EVERYTHING SHE'S EVER SANG!
I gotta see her live!
Where did you find this picture? It's almost overwhelmingly beautiful.
google image search....
I still can't find it....
well that was 8 years ago
*sigh* oh well
Gabe Morgan
saw her in concert in montreal.... she was amazing
OMG YOU BOTH READ MY MIND
i love the genius next door album version
and i really with she recoded Aquarius tooooo!!
ah, i love her!
beautiful!
@Crusader38 ;; Regina makes it a point to make her songs completely different than every other one that she's ever written, and I highly doubt that anyone else could create something this beautiful.
EVERYTHING IS RELATIVE. except light speed yo!
But yea the dimension of time is everywhere.. It's the 4rth one!
no one can write songs like her.
Great song!!
woo beautiful shot. she's an alien. :)
"time is all around except inside my clock"
@starprincess66 she always changes it up, that's what i love about her!
its a software that allows you to record sounds from your computer, so you can get songs that are on youtube but not on limewire or whatever
Leaves become most beautiful when they're about to die.
When they're about to fall from tress, when they're about to dry .. up.
god, she's brilliant
i wish her record label would stop trolling youtube and disabling videos that were actually beneficial to her career-- I used to have some songs in my favorites section ( Another town for one) and they've been taken off youtube for copyright infringement grrr the videos don't prevent someone from buying her stuff, they supplement the CDs/ MP3s they don't supplant them!
Is there somewhere I can get the millions songs by Regina Spektor that aren't on her albums?
not released yet... here's hopin' she puts it on her next cd.
This song is awesome!!! :D
YES.
Did anybody even invite this fine young lady to the grammys? What a shame.. I have no respect for those awards anymore..
One other note: I would love to hear Soul Asylum do a cover of this song. Perhaps I should beat them to it.
@mikson0098
She's too good for the grammy's. ♥
They don't deserve Her.
for some reason this reminds me of an old-fashioned neighborhood in New England ... weird connection I know, maybe it's the styling of the piano, kinda' makes me think of Charlie Brown ... IDK, it's weird the images that get conjured when listening to Regina.
Holy crap! That's exactly the effect i'm having too.
i totally agree!!!!
I really prefer this version compared to the version on her "Far" album.
It's a theatrical reference, she's saying that he steps on her line and then leaves without resolving anything
this is fantastic! where did u find this demo? i like this version a lot better than the album arrangement. The piano sounds awesome in this version. LOVE IT!
for me its Regina and A Fine Frenzy... both great singer/song writers, both sexy as hell.
@eMATTgination, you are right, but Regina uses the clock as a metaphor. But still agree with you... Love this song, love that woman.
this song should have been used in 500 days of summer
I'm saaiiing away...
she has the most origonal lyrics ever!! thnx 4 the comment.
@mikson0098 i agree absolutly,
straight to the " rock 'n' roll hall of fame " for Regina :D
this is a bonus song on the new album :D
ok, i'll post them in the imformation section.
of u only kinda like this song the 1st time listen to it again.
none yet.... thats why it hasn't been removed like my other regina spektor vids have.
Her vocals remind me a little of a female Freddie Mercury. One of the best at playing the piano
Only in another picture of her. :)
June 23rd. def!
woah! same here
I find conor to be the male version of regina. They should discover each other haha :) and get married! ahhhh
I love the 2:02 part!
never heard of it... but i'm sure there r many songs that r similar.
Yeah i had 2 vids that were taken down, Another Town and Pavlov's Daughter.
@mikson0098 Exactly! If you don't give her at least a nomination, at least invite her for some shrimp and a glass of wine. The Grammy's can suck my shammy!!
Buy it.
@Krissyrocks92 well this is a demo verson of the song on far but its only on the special verson of far.... i like the raw verson better......
Can someone please tell me what "you step on my parts means." not being negative or anything
i like the song
just wondering
does anyone know where i can download this? : D
@GTpoot I believe that this is from the Far album...check to make sure...^^
Sounds like on the radio
Waaaay better than the version on Far, I totally agree.
i think she looks great in this piccy but im a sucker for a redhead. now she does look a little scary in the revised verson of "Better".
@thevietmama messy and weird but she's cute, messy and weird...we love her anyway!
this verson is a demo
@AnthonyMinsky
Yes! ^.^
what cd is this from?
thats probably a bad thing cause when the cd comes out youtube will probably take down this video. :(
its called far i think
Well I just started studying relativity... But isn't space and time a bit the same concept? I mean time just defines where a movement is at a given moment while moving trough space.. Anyways it looked evident on the models ahah.

@thegirlwhohasflown I do hope that's a compliment ;D
this sounds different from the one on "far"
She's considered to be part of the anti-folk scene. So next time someone ask you the music type you'll have a real answer!
This song is a rip of Fastball's "Out of My Head." At least it is chord-progression wise.
@mikson0098 they only invite shit to those awards, and i think we'd all feel offended if regina had to walk the same carpet as rhianna and justin bieber. besides she doesn't need awards to prove she's a good singer. she's better off without them x
@Crusader38 agreed....
@Crusader38 I do too
