It's June 2023, and I've just stumbled across this absolutely brilliant parody - just superb. Jess, I dont know if you still check back to this, all these years later - but my thanks to you all for bringing a big smile to this old Prisoner fan's face. You made my day. Be seeing you. 😀👌👌👌
Yup, it never goes away does it? I'm 71 and watched The Prisoner in awe as a teen. Although it made little sense at the time, everyone was expecting some kind of explanation in the final episode. Up in arms when it just added to the mystery! got the box-set now and it still works.
I'm 56 and an on again off again "fan" of The Prisoner, but once they got you, you can never truly leave the village. It's all around us. Here's the secret they never tell you. The information you have, that they need, is the only thing that keeps you alive. Tell them what you know, and the jig is up. However, if you don't tell them? Well. Here's hoping you like cheese. We're all rats in a maze here, and the maze is inside our minds. Sanity is not a commodity, and it sure as hell isn't a luxury. Be seeing you.
I can't explain why this genius short came to my attention 15 years later, but I can tell you that every young film student should be shown this and be given the assignment: "Go forth and do thou likewise." This is just so fun and intelligent.
Wow! I hadn't checked the comments on this video in about 2 years... How cool to have people still watching this old parody. Was thinking about making an Avengers parody (*cough* 6 years later *cough*) Really, thanks everyone for all the love. BCNU
What a lovely tribute... and it's really great to see that there are Prisoner fans out there who were not yet alive when it first aired. Thanks, Jess, for continuing to carry the torch.
I can't "like" this thing strongly ENOUGH. Just ran across it by accident. Nice to find something that has me laughing out loud in the morning instead of cursing the Fates that drive us or worse.
@@johnmullen2537 Over the years various people involved in "Fallout" have said that McGoohan was actually making it up as they were filming it. I was never really a fan of the show but I find everything to do with the making of it fascinating.
I didn't get it until I was playing the Prisoner game on an Apple II computer in 1981 or 82. When I saw that text on the screen it was an OMG moment :)
Yes, many such touches make this a gem. I couldn't wait to see what she did with the Rover. I wasn't disappointed, though I thought it would come out of a water pump, a well, or a stock tank.
May 2024, and I've just discovered this. This made me smile more than anything I've seen on UA-cam in ages. I laughed out loud in a few places, the POV over the hood of the tractor, the hand canceling of the photograph, and the photograph moving along the clothesline were my favorite bits!
@@colinp2238 Yeah. I liked the blurring, but ultimately my opinion is that the Prisoner was not John Drake because a.) the difference in accent between the 2 characters and b.) Drake definitely worked for the UN, and No. 6 seemed to work for some branch of the British Secret Service.
Amazing! How can I not have seen this in the past 15 years? Thanks so much for the parody/tribute, from someone who has been a fan since the opening sequence of the premier episode.
I just love this! You did so much with so little with some nice touches of the person walking up to Number Six's house being dressed like him and the sketch of McGoohan as John Drake going into the suitcase. Using a Chevy HHR as the hearse was brilliant. Very creative how you tried to replicate the different bits of the opening sequence. I saw The Prisoner in the summer of 1968 and then again in the late 70's. Still a huge fan today. Found your video by pure accident in 2022.
Big prisoner fan from the 60s .I just came across this by accident on my smartphone and it is absolutely hysterical. a gold star for this one. I think someone else mentioned in the comments but if you if you watch quickly you'll see her put a sketch of Patrick mcgoohan in her suitcase.
I found this totally by accident, and I am so impressed! I first watched "The Prisoner" when it was a summer replacement show in 1968. You made a great parody obviously based on respect and admiration.
PRISONER SPOILER!!! I was thinking "Number Fifty-Eight" in Episode Four, played by Rachel Herbert*. She's so cute but turns out so merciless. (* Happened to have seen that episode yesterday )
Brilliant! Just Brilliant! Patrick McGoohan would definitely approve! We Prisoner fans love this. Wish I thought of it. The Avengers intro is a great idea too.
Remarkable. Given my love of the show, i was dubious-all the way up until the wigwams. The teeter-totter sealed the deal, for me. Brilliant! A very nice job on the opening credits, too.
Really? My first belly laugh was the tractor, and they just kept coming. Still the single funniest thing on You Tube, after all these years (although of course you need to be a Prisoner fan to get it).
I've just discovered this. I'm lucky enough to have seen the series as a thirteen-year-old when it was first broadcast in the UK. The whole concept of the story has shaped my life. When I saw this, the tears were rolling down my cheeks I laughed SO much. An absolute masterpiece. VERY well done!! Thank you.
It's a long time since anything made me laugh so much that it set my asthma off, but that "Resigned" file did it! After recently escaping a lifetime of office work, it was so relatable. Excellent stuff.
I just discovered this today and it made my day. You managed to capture each beat perfectly. As I was watching it, I thought “so, what’s she gonna do for the village when she gets to that part of the opening” and you pulled it off. Then, I thought “What about Rover?” and you pulled it off. Cheers!
It's been ELEVEN years now. I'm just delighted that UA-cam's algorithm decided that I should see this, otherwise I never would have known of it. I hope that you've since found many ways to express your creativity, even if we don't see evidence here on your UA-cam channel.
I watched The Prisoner as a summer replacement on PBS when I was a first-year student in high school. To say it made an impression is an understatement. I have the series on VHS, DVD, and as a digital file. And this parody made me laugh out loud. You even got the typeface correct on the credits! Thank you for this wonderment!
Okay, this has got to be at least 10 years old. But every time I watch it I marvel at how damn funny this is and all the work that must have went in to the production. So funny!
I've only just found this. Made 11 years ago (2020) and is excellent. A superb parody and so well made. The concrete 'wigwams' remind me of the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook, Arizona.
I just stumbled upon this video and I absolutely love it. Awesome work. This is one of my all time favorite shows even though I wasn't alive when it came out. With the heaviness of a war going on right now, this video put a much needed smile on my face.
Dear Ms. Eskine, I was delighted to find your excellent video after re-watching the original Prisoner opening.Thank you, very much ! Your passion is inspiring, and I am very glad that someone of your generation can, "Get IT."
The youtube algorithm works in mysterious ways. I find this in my feed fifteen years after the video was posted and maybe three months after I watched a couple episodes of the show on youtube. This video just kinda popped up from out of nowhere for no perceptible reason. The monkey overlords must be doing something with the algorithm and that something is likely not good for us. That said, this parody was very well done. Tip of the hat to you.

Excellent! Ten out of ten, or six out of six.
Patrick Mcgoohan made the simple act of opening doors & getting out of cars look epic lol! Well done with this it looked great!
