Our IB English tutorial video continues to remain available. Thanks for your kind support and we wish you all the best in improving your writing for exam~ *Is our course helpful for English Literature?* We have received a lot of enquiries regarding whether our tutorial will be helpful for English Literature. Unfortunately, the answer is no. The text in Paper 1 of English Language and Literature is quite different from that of English Literature. In Paper 1, students are usually presented with a multimodal text. In addition, general knowledge can be useful when interpreting the context of the text. In contrast, Paper 2 of English Literature typically requires students to analyze specific literary texts in depth, requiring an appreciation of more niche literary techniques. *Do we have tutorials for paper 2?* No, even though Paper 2 was certainly our strength, we do not offer tutorials for it because it is based on your individual text. However, if you could provide a short example paragraph of analysis, we would be happy to turn the comments section into a forum and provide feedback if time allows. One brief piece of advice is to focus on the "macro" devices for Paper 2, such as characterization and symbolism. You should also show off your contextual knowledge and analyze the zeitgeist, dominant ideologies, and even political viewpoints if they are relevant to your question and text. *Treat your coursework seriously.* Another advice is please treat your coursework assessment seriously. You want to enter the exam hall knowing that you could still get a 7 even if you slipped a few marks from your carelessness or even from encountering a stricter examiner. In the end, accept that your exam scores are subjected to variability and factors outside of your control, and have no regrets knowing that you have tried your very best.
uhhhh idk about all the fancy and impossible to use words. for ppl that are not used to write like that its so awkward and rigid to put into big words randomly
I can't believe it. Just toss the teachers a dissertation riddled with other-worldly words, mess up the syntax to a still-comprehensible extent, and you'll get a good mark. English IB was not for me.
You should upload more videos, as you definitely have the talent and are worth listening too, possibly you could aim to grow your channel and earn money by ads so that everyone can have access to the videos, on the long run that seems like a better business concept
I will be changing to an ib curriculum next year from a local school in hk! This video was very helpful for me to understand my current essay writing level and skills. Do you have any advice for a f4 student in a local school (formerly HKDSE curriculum) changing to IBDP? What are the major differences and challenges?
Here are some tips to help you prepare for the transition: Understand the differences between the two curricula: The IB curriculum is generally considered more rigorous and academically demanding than other curricula, including the HKDSE. The IB curriculum focuses on developing critical thinking, research skills, and international-mindedness. In contrast, the HKDSE curriculum places a greater emphasis on memorization and recall of factual information. Be prepared to manage your time effectively: The IB programme is known for its heavy workload, so it's important to develop good time management skills. Start by creating a study schedule that allows you to allocate enough time for each subject, as well as time for extracurricular activities and relaxation. Focus on developing your research and writing skills: The IB curriculum places a strong emphasis on research and writing. You will be required to write essays, conduct independent research, and present your findings in a variety of formats. To prepare for this, focus on developing your critical thinking and writing skills. Be prepared for a more holistic approach to learning: The IB programme encourages students to develop a well-rounded education. You will be required to take a range of subjects, including languages, sciences, humanities, and arts. You will also be encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities and community service. Get involved in the IB community: Joining the IB community can be a great way to get support and make friends. Consider joining a study group, participating in school clubs or activities, or attending IB-related events. Overall, the transition to the IB curriculum can be challenging, but it can also be a rewarding and exciting opportunity for growth and learning. With the right mindset and preparation, you can succeed in the IB programme and achieve your academic goals. Good luck!
Hey Team IB45ers, I have sent an email for purchasing the course. Please consider it as soon as possible as my exams are coming up very soon. Thank you.
Don't give up. At least not until you've tried to apply the techniques on practice essays. Also remember to go back check it. The quality of a practice essay under timed condition is hugely discounted. Keep working on it.
We release the video as soon as the transaction is complete. But it seems this time you are unlikely going to have time to finish the video. Still, all the best for tomorrow
excuse me but wtf is this, i open the video to improve my shit in the subject but it turns out to be a 20 min tutorial on a course. like bruh are they desperate for this or what , the title in itself is misleading and you want us to analyze ? i can start by analyzing your title and advertising strategy in this video and get a damn 7. god
No offense but I don't get how you got 45, why would any source have a purpose of ''pressuring'' the reader to donate? Even forcing per se is never the true intention. To perceive the main point of any given text/ article is the main point of any essay and without your analysis is basically the same with the guy who you yourself mentioned as ''Terrible'', true you have superb understanding of both language and literally devices but I doubt with that kind of analysis you would get 7, 6 at most
Well, not pressuring per se, more…encouraging people to donate by guilt tripping them. ( which I find a lot of sources) They tug on peoples heartstrings.

stating ethos has been utilized is merely a conjecture. The author conveyed rhetoric in a manner of logos, due to his achievements
